  1. I don't want to sound mercenary, but if I sell these (and it's a big IF right now), where would be the best place. My aim is to try and move these to a collector and not a hedge fund. If it does score high and has an intrinsic collectors value, I would prefer that option.
  2. "He has 1 post and somehow found his way on a comic forum and registered a new account when he could have asked anywhere else or did any type of google search to help him find info." All I can say is, I would rather speak to you experts with a little effort on my part, than rely on Google. I really appreciate all the info and help you guys have given freely. It goes to show that when like minded people with the same interest get together, good things happen. Thank you all.
  3. Thank you. That really helps. As a newby, it's interesting to compare your print to mine. As someone who has touched it, it's funny to me to think these items were in the apartment of the authors, with them walking around the stacked boxes thinking if they had done the right thing investing that money to get the 3235 copies printed on someones over sized template, because it was the cheapest option. Great story I think. I just sent them to get boxed and am glad to say that I had the honor to read #1 and #2 in my hands. Not every being exposed to comics, I now live with some regret. This random find may inspire a whole new hobby.
  4. I have a question about colour of the pages. They are brownish. How does the colour of the pages effect the grade value 9.5 or 9.8 etc. I have seen a 9.6 with white spots on the cover by the staples but with white pages. I can deduce that my copy has no marks on the spine or cover, but does have brownish pages. Any thoughts?

  6. Thanks for the info. I did what you said and there are not any marks on the front or the back that effect the sheen of the cover, so I will take that as it doesn't need to be pressed. The pages are off white and smell old, but I can't find any other damage. Can't wait to get them scored now. I hope I can move them on to someone who will really appreciate their age, content and condition.
  7. From what I have discovered they are first print and I will be sending them to get graded. It has the gobbledygook advert on the back inside cover.
  8. Well, a little overwhelmed by the plethora of responses. Normal mix of forces, so I will go with the positive. Thanks for your feedback, to be honest it took the moderators a few days to put the post up, so in the mean time I reached out to a member of a TMNT #1 forum on this site and he was very polite and informative and I will be sending them into get "slabbed", new jargon I learnt. This is a very unique situation where I am not informed, so I will continue to improve my knowledge about this fascinating subject. From the limited knowledge I have acquired, it does seem as they are original first print, one of the 3250. Strange to think they were in the living room of Eastman and Lairds apparent. I am a coin collector, so I appreciate the human connection to items, which will hopefully explain my incoherence to some of the elements of this industry.
  9. Hi, Firstly I am not really a comic person and at 52 it's a bit late to start. These comics do intrigue me as they were in the bottom of a box that I bought because it had items I wanted. I was about to trash them and then a friend said they may be worth something. Not being a comic guy I am reaching out to see if I have something here. They were in plastic folders that were marked $60 #1 #2 First. Not sure what that means, but I am trying to give you as much information as I can. I don’t really want to know what they are worth yet, just is it worth sending them in to get checked out by CGC. I would be happy to get any advice I can. Thank you. David Mac. P.s. Please don’t use jargon if you respond, as I am uneducated when it comes to this topic.
