Ok so I just got back graded Wolverine 1-4 1-2 are 9.8 and 3-4 9.4. But #1 my money maker is off white to white. How big of a dent will that put in its price do yall think? Just personal preference and what you think others would care about. Bummed they weren’t all 9.8 but can’t win every time lol. Also had a secret wars 8 9.8 so that was good. If I should post this somewhere else or not at all lmk.

Ok so a while back I purchased this book on eBay. I didn’t until it was much too late to return it that it was in pretty bad shape for a 9.8, and imo should not have received a 9.8 at ALL. Personally, I don’t think any of the defects are from damage within the case, but it was graded all the way back in 2006, so I could be wrong. I can’t even sell it though, as twice everyone has sent it back and argued it “wasn’t what they purchased”, even though I warned of the quality. So this is what I want to know. Do you guys think that the grading of this book is a result of how long ago it was graded? Or possible case damage? Or just a fluke insufficiently_thoughtful_person grader? Or do you think it could actually get a 9.8 based on the comic? What would be your estimated grade if it were to be regraded? And if I sent it in for a re holder would it almost certainly be regraded and get a lower one? I would think so, but some say if it’s not case damage they wouldn’t. One more thing, the center pages are almost coming out of the book. Would a press somehow help that, to push the book over the staple more or something? Idk, anyway give me your thoughts and lmk if I need to technically post this somewhere else.

This is going to be a little different, as I'm asking basically if this would get a 9.8 again after a press or not, I really just want a new slab. I want it pressed regardless because the spine has rolled and the small spine tick will probably migrate to the spine completely. Any thoughts are appreciated. Also, if this should be in another forum, let me know. Also the white scuffs on the cover are from the slab and not on the actual cover. Also is a white spot that is something loose, the only flaw on the spine is a small tick.

I decided to post the most beaten up looking watchmen comic in the set to get an idea if I should grade the whole set. I’m not sure what the small green spot on the back is or the white marks but they seem to be from kind of stress or wear but the green spot somehow a print malfunction? Let me know your thoughts, thanks!

Even though it’s not as satisfying as the slabbed full Batman year one set, I’m very pleased with the grades received. You all were exactly right about 405 but was able to snag a 9.6 after a press.

Hahaha sorry guys. I’m welcoming a newborn and haven’t had much sleep. Anyway sent the whole year one set in for grading and this issue had the most issues and was hoping it was still in 9.0 range. There weren’t any spine tics or other issues on the front though so the issues visible on the pics were the only ones it had but I’ll post the grade when it returns. Thanks for the input

Hey, Batman Year One #2. Appreciate your input. I’m not sure if on the back those are printing issues or what but please let me know if you know what they are, looking here they look like issues with ink and not dirt or anything. Include if pressing would help if you think so. Thank you!

PGM Batman The Dark Knight Returns book 1
SlipperyDILF replied to SlipperyDILF's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
Thanks guys! I thought this was an absolute steal when I found it but then saw that degrading on the back as well and knew it plummeted the grade at least 1-1.5 if not more. -
Hey, I’m new to the site and CGC and not really new to comics but new to collecting them and learning about the grading system and such as I just recently had a resurgence of comic book obsession I lost because of day to day things. Anyway was just wanting to see what your opinions on the grade is for this Batman TDKR book 1 first print copy. I can’t scan them at the moment because of the pandemic. Thanks in advance!
