  1. We have inherited a huge collection of comics including a lot of Archie, Jughead, etc. Looking at the records, our uncle was expecting to ask for over $200 on some of the Jugheads and That Wilkins Boy; however, I don't see that much of a market for them on Ebay right now. Are these better sold at conventions or is there a network of private collectors for them?

Academia raises us to believe that real books do not have pictures. I have spent 4 decades in an almost Augustinian austerity, avoiding and abstaining from any look towards graphic novels and comics. I have never been able to read a comic without feeling ashamed that I am not being productive, that I am doing something less than reading. I still feel that way. However, nothing is fixed. Time transforms everyone and everything. That which seemed worthless now has great value. Maybe my old definition of productive needs to change. I see an opportunity to do more than just speculate on items of value. The more stories I learn, the greater value I have. The better I can communicate. The purpose of keeping this journal is not to expose my ego to the internet such that I can live and die with comments; I hope that it will help me to remain accountable in the process.
