Mike McKone TD ART drop…who got what they wanted?
Werebear replied to Dwitkin82's topic in Original Comic Art
I picked up Beta Ray Bill! McKone's colors are fantastically vivid. Can't wait for the piece to arrive. . -

I'm interested in the Tatsunoko stuff and (sadly singular) Angel's Egg cel. They're high-profile enough to be noteworthy but not high-profile enough to be worth forging. I'd choose Mandarake over Heritage any day for Japanese art, as they can verify pieces earlier in the custody chain. Of course they aren't infallible either.

Not exactly comic art, but comic-adjacent: What is the market like for a Frazetta remarked print or pencil sketch? At the rate the market is going, even an ink illustration of Frank's will remain perpetually out of reach. I'm particularly fond of his big cat drawings. Any advice for his art would be appreciated.

Hello, as you can see I'm pretty new here. Please kindly leave a note if you've dealt with me before.

Earl sold me my first major piece of comic-related art. We had some great conversation along the way, and the transaction itself was flawless. Can't go wrong.

My goal for 2021 is to close a deal on a special piece I saw last month. It would be my first comic-related illustration.

New Manga pieces. Any else given up on U.S. comics?
Werebear replied to Michaeld's topic in Original Comic Art
Published pages are almost never sold. The pages floating around are from obscure titles and little known artists. Throw in the language barrier and the hunt becomes nearly impossible. Your best bet are "shikishi" boards sold on places like Mandarake or Yahoo Auctions. They're basically convention sketches. If you're a fan of anime, "genga" (the master drawing for the animation) pop up a lot more more often. -
How big is the pool of buyers for six-figure O/A?
Werebear replied to ShallowDan's topic in Original Comic Art
I'd also be interested in thoughts about this. I'd imagine most of the buyers in that range have been collecting a long time and isn't growing much. -
