  1. This is one of those annoying things with DC just now, no real continuity going on across the line. This Zdarsky run has been good so far though so still worth sticking with and better than most other DC output.
  2. Pretty sure Superman is definitely coming back. And if they really want to give the fans the thumbs up then have him return in the black suit as per the end of ZSJL. From there he can return to the red and blue.
  3. That’s cool if he’s actually in it. Although it’s still hard to tell what’s going on in general between the DC films, it sort of seems like it’s all still connected. Maybe it’s all making sense behind the scenes and we just don’t know it yet.
  4. Yeah there’s no way he’s talking like that without knowing it’s going to happen. Rock seems all in on the DCEU going forward and he gets what he wants. I just hope that is indeed Cavill in the role still!
  5. My Taschen Avengers library Vol 1 has arrived, superb! Alongside the Spidey one, this giant size slice of amazingness is just magnificent. I’ve also noticed the next Spawn deluxe volume is up for pre order. Vol 5 comes out in November and I’ve missed these on release each time. Prices on the other volumes via eBay are ridiculous.
  6. It would of been the opportunity to really steal the show but maybe things just aren’t worked yet. Seems like there was enough mention of Superman during those other panels that you’ve got to think it’s going to happen eventually. Maybe it’ll be next years announcement…
  7. For those in the UK, Forbidden Planet have an omnibus sale on. A few cool books in there, £35 for McFarlanes Spider-Man ain’t too bad! It may not be the best written story but the large format lends itself so well to that nostalgic art. I also see they’ve got the Taschen Avengers library Vol 1 up for pre order now too.
  8. It’s such a great scene in terms of unleashing their capabilities. That ‘super’ level style of fighting is what needs to come back in a sequel (hopefully)…
  9. Costumes are all looking great and the hype for this should build nicely over the next few months. With all the background exec changes going on at WB I’m hoping this film hits big and gives DC another boost. Then The Rock will get his wish and face off against Cavill down the line!
  10. Those are fantastic! Love it when they go for a comic book cover style.
  11. Cavill back would be fantastic but I’m not sure what they mean by ‘start from scratch with him as the focal point for a shared universe.’ Can’t exactly ignore MOS etc?
  12. Decided to get back on a few titles after hitting the store a few weeks back. Picked up Flashpoint Beyond 0 and 1, liking it so far. I miss Geoff johns on DC books. Worlds Finest 1 and 2 were both great, some wacky action packed fun. And the art is top notch. I read JL75 too based on the Dark Crisis hype, an event I’ll give a chance but I’d have to say that this death of the justice league issue was just as the reviews suggested. Underwhelming for such a premise. Shame this wasn’t more of a drawn out storyline that built up some intrigue.
  13. Sadly it does feel like a long shot. But a wee bit more time and let’s see what DC news comes from this shake up, maybe it’ll surprise us.
  14. That sort of change is pretty drastic, not even just a font thing like some of the Marvel ones, just a completely new look! Makes you wonder why. Is the person responsible for vol 2 even aware what vol 1 looks like…?
  15. The new 2022 version of the Death and Return of Superman omnibus has finally shipped, looking forward to that turning up. Next on my list for June is Absolute Doomsday Clock, I really enjoyed that and wish that DC had maintained some of that rebirth/button momentum. Felt like a lot of good stories were coming together until DC practically dropped it all. Also considering Absolute Multiversity but never read it before. I do enjoy some Grant Morrison madness though. Then there’s another giant bad boy Taschen book coming, the Avengers library. Definitely getting this after the quality of the Spider-Man edition last year.
  16. I would think some of the related keys will definitely spike closer to the time and will end up being called out on the hot lists you see every time a new film trailer comes out. I still love that DC books are affordable so I’d personally prefer things to stay as they are!
  17. Agreed, that was one of the things I would of preferred to see dropped. A hint of his existence without seeing/hearing him would of been enough, then leave it be until maybe another film or 2 goes by.
  18. 'Infinity War' Thor is my favourite Thor interpretation. But it's clear that comedy Thor is the winner for the MCU. To be fair Hemsworth does it well, and he seems to be around for the long haul so I can see plenty more Thor centric stories to come.
  19. I know I've slipped into bad habits recently when watching new films at home. For The Batman I wanted to see it the old fashioned way and went to the cinema and absolutely loved it. I totally get some of the criticism highlighted about the running time etc but I felt like I really got into the style of the film, the slow burn, the great Giacchino score running through it and the idea this was still a Batman in development (career wise). The sound when the Batmobile fired up was deafening, it was amazing! That whole chase just gave me a big grin as it was so absurdly loud. Pattinson was a good Batman too, I enjoyed his approach of just tanking his way through places when he needed to and it was nice to see that close relationship with the GCPD (for good or bad) that hasn't been seen much on film. I would certainly change a few things but overall this was a great DC film.
  20. It's disappointing that it's become so problematic, not just with Miller himself but with all the delays etc that have plagued the overall production. The film was the opportunity to open up some cool possibilities but it's hard to tell anymore. Who knows, maybe the next teaser will offer more about what this film is trying to do. And hopefully Miller can sort himself out, for his own good as well as the franchise. If that means him stepping away then so be it. I admit I liked him in ZSJL though so was looking forward to this.
  21. Really love the score for ZSJL. I’ll be gutted not to hear the MOS theme again somewhere, swelling up as he finally confronts Darkseid face to face. News of any kind of follow up to JL has gone awfully quiet recently. Starting to doubt Cavill or Darkseid will ever be back at all.
  22. For some reason I wasn’t expecting the actual super heroes to appear but just the pets, I think my kids will probably enjoy this more now!
  23. Great uniformed look. Out of interest did you go for the standard or silver age size? Ive tried both and to be honest they both hold silver age comics pretty nicely, depending on how much board space you like around the comic.
  24. Yeah. There is the £150 edition plus a very expensive version with a leather bound cover. (But interiors are the same)
  25. I’m in a modern Green Lantern hit at the moment. Started with the absolute version of Blackest Night (a gift) and now working back to pick up Absolute Rebirth and Sinestro Corps War. Great story, great art and feels like a time when DC had a grip on what was happening across the brand.
