  2. A shout-out to this thread by CAF maestro Bill Cox at the 2 hour 23 minute. But the point of this thread is to not call out pieces "flipped" into a public auction with no reserves, where they will land at a final bid price wherever the market takes them...or (sadly) shill bids take them, as we've seen in the past with a known dealer and his consignments at Heritage Auctions. Oh, and if you're annoyed by this thread or dislike it or think there is too much whining here, then stop reading it. But I guess since it's gotten over 123K views at this point, I guess it's not going away anytime so

  7. The Donnellys turn pieces of art that are not covers into covers with replacement stats much too often. It's deceiving and does not add positively to this hobby. They have no shame and will rip people off with this tactic. Class act? Wake up and smell the correctional fluid, bro. Here's a classic example. Take a piece that was never a cover... https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/ricardo-villamonte-moon-knight-and-brother-voodoo-illustration-original-art-undated-/a/7187-94783.s?ic4=OtherResults-SampleItem-071515&tab=ArchiveSearchResults-012417 Then add some fake stats and
  8. I bet they had those title stats created before bidding even ended. And I doubt they have art in hand, it’s a digital mock up using the HA scan? And probably paid for by with sales credit from the big Master Race sale and buying “new inventory” to avoid paying taxes. But hey, at least the piece is a legitimately published cover and not something never published that they turned into an “alternate cover”.

  10. I was more caught off guard when it sold on eBay last October for $4500 BIN. Flip-of-the-pandemic material, no doubt.
  11. So what do monoprints like these originally sell for when they’re released, before they hit a secondary market like an auction house? (There are 2 in this lot): https://comics.ha.com/itm/memorabilia/comic-related/mikel-janin-batman-artist-proofs-monoprints-group-of-2-dc-2018-2019-total-2-items-/a/122108-17773.s
