Has that ever happened to you at CapCan Comics or are you just speaking about comic shops in general? I have found the people at CapCan to be quite helpful.

Yes another Ronces alum! I grew up on Geoffrey St and went to Howard Park Public School. I had my first job at the Loblaws close to Dundas West and started collecting comics at a coin and stamp shop that is still in the neighborhood just at different address. I was back in Ronces on the weekend to watch Tank Girl at the Review Theatre. That neighborhood is home for me.

I am in Lisgar/Meadowvale now in Mississauga. I miss Toronto. I don't think I will ever be able to move back to Toronto with the price of houses even though I own a house in Mississauga. Kind of crazy.

Lots of people from Toronto here. Nice to see. I was born and raised there. Spent the first 20 years of my life in Rocesvalles and then the next 10 on the east side in the Beaches. What parts of the T-Dot is everyone else from? @Sauce Dog @Hepcat - Are you guys going to Toronto Comic Con this weekend?

Toronto Comic Con is this weekend (not sure if that is why you are in the city) but there should be a good selection of books there. The other place that I shop for good books is CapCan Comics. It is about an hour away from Toronto in a place called Brantford but their selection is huge and they have everything from $1 books all the way up to big keys. They also have a website so you can shop/browse their inventory prior to going to decide if they have what you are looking for and if the trip is worth your time - https://www.captcancomics.ca/

Longest Trip by a Comic -- this might be a record........
LudaToke replied to W16227's topic in Comics General
I recently purchase a nice copy of Batman 227 that was supposed to travel from New York State to Ontario Canada (a 3 hour flight) and for some reason it took off across the Atlantic to Belgium before arriving at my door. The seller and I held our breath and prayed that it didn't get lost. I still have no clue why USPS would send it like this: -
That seems closer to the streams that I have seen Rob in. He sits in a stream engaging with fans while actively banning people left and right. The stream then usually turns into a chorus of people praising Rob and kissing his butt which is difficult to watch.

Too generous a grade. I think the NG label would be more accurate for them.
-
This is just his latest attempt to keep his name in the news and stay relevant because his current work certainly can't do that. He should retire from behaving like a contemptuous creative genius.
-
I am definitely a fan. I have had my eye on this copy for a while:

Giant Size X-Men #1 and/or X-Men 94 Club
LudaToke replied to HeroX's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Happy to join the club. A seller that I regularly purchase off messaged me to see if I was interested and offered a great cash in hand price. I sure do love avoiding the hassle of taxes and shipping, especially in Canada (Insert X-Men The Animated Series Theme Song) -
Everyone should brace themselves for an announcement from CGC: Introducing the CGC 10.0 Prescreen!

NEW! CGC Comics services and fees, effective January 24, 2024
LudaToke replied to SpineTic's topic in Comics General
This is an absolutely ridiculous announcement and strategy (can you you even call a bonehead move like this strategic) given everything they have going on with their "build your own holder" design. No announcement on anything relating to a real solution but they are giving us this and the 9.9 pre-screen? Just when you think CGC hits rock bottom, they break out the excavator and keep fracking things up. Weren't there 2 grading price increases in the the last 2 years as well? I bite my thumb at thee CGC.
