  1. Just purchased 5 Australian Archie comics on eBay... Archie and His Friends #9 Archie Having Fun #9 Archie's Triumphs #7 Move Over Archie #1 Archie's Adventures #8 Don't know too much about them other than that they were published by Yaffa - not sure if the artwork and stories were done by the regulars at Archie Comics or if they were done by Australians. The one difference I noticed by looking at the covers is that Jughead's "crown" hat is all yellow - not the typical gray with colored pins.
  2. As promised, here are cover shots for ones that I've purchased recently (still waiting on some to arrive). Once again simply click on the image to view the full-sized version. I also got Little Archie: Legend of the Lost Lagoon yesterday
  3. Latest purchase: Archie #134 (1963), Good Condition, $0.29 + $4.99 Shipping This week's arrivals: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Meet Archie The Adventures of Little Archie #50 Still waiting on another 50 or so to arrive (47 of which are coming together - two separate auctions from the same user)
  4. Nice Mine's in Very Good condition. I'm just happy that I got it - I tried getting some really nice Archies from the 50s last night and kept getting sniped. That's the last time I try to snag super bargains on a Friday night.
  5. I love eBay Little Archie #50 - $1.99 Pep #203 - $1 Teeange Mutant Turtles Meet Archie (64-page special, 1990) - $7 And, the bargain of the day: Archie's Pals 'n' Gals #11 (1959) - $9
  6. They really liked repeating those early on didn't they?
  7. Here's another cover with a cheesy rhyme...
  8. Got all of these at the comic shop earlier (click on images for larger version and more info): I also bought a bag of 100 Silver Age-sized comic book storage bags for $3.95, but everyone knows what storage bags look like, so I won't scan those in Notes on the two Life With Archie comics with no numbers: First one is #12. Cover is a bit crooked. Second one is #28. The rip was caused by the cover getting caught on the tape as I was putting it back in the bag. That's what I get for not taking the tape off the bag first.
  9. You got a major bargain. That Jughead comic is hard to find.
  10. How much did that Jughead as Captain Hero issue cost you? Nice find!
  11. Just picked up four more on eBay: Laugh #154, Archie #218, Archie's Joke Book #187 and The Adventures of Little Archie #36 - all for $4.95
  12. Anyone know the artist in this classic gag from 1978?
  13. 25 issues of Life With Archie for $6 + $2 shipping (this is the same person I bought the Little Archie comics from last night, so I save on shipping). One issue is in "poor" condition and they listed another as "Good/Fair", but the rest are VG or better (as high as "VG+++" and "Fine"). I'm having a hard time holding back from bidding on this user's other auctions, but I don't want to get in the habit of bidding on everything I'd like to have.
  14. You still didn't say how long you've collected... Your collection could be worth quite a bit (especially the Suzies and Wilburs - those are hard to find). You really should join my board
  15. According to Google, it's Neal Adams - http://www.nealadams.com/comicchecklist.html
  16. How long have you been collecting? One of the members on my Archie Comics board has about 1700 and I thought that was ridiculous!
  17. How many comics do you currently have in your collection? My collection isn't huge, but is rapidly increasing in size, and I'm just curious as to how large the average collection is here Mine is currently somewhere in the range of 120-130 (I think).
  18. Here are the links to the scans of the ones I bought the other day... Archie as Captain Pureheart #6 Life With Archie #44 The Adventures of Little Archie #16 The Adventures of Pipsqueak #35 All of those were scanned in at 50% original size with a resolution of 200dpi. On an unrelated note (sort of)... Does anyone have any suggestions on how to prevent the dots from standing out so much? If needed I can start a new topic on this and/or provide more technical information.
  19. Here's what I picked up at a local comic shop earlier: Pipsqueak #35 (November 1959) - $2.95 Little Archie (Giant) #16 (Fall 1960) - $6.95 (featuring lots of artwork from Bob Bolling) Life With Archie #44 (December 1965) - $3.95 Archie As Captain Pureheart #6 (November 1967) - $11.95 I'll post cover scans soon.
  20. Here are a couple covers from my collection... Archie's Joke Book #91 from August, 1965 (the oldest comic in my collection): Life With Archie #165 from January 1976: The dots aren't that obvious in reality, but I couldn't figure out how to scan it without the dots being really obvious.
