  1. I have a sales thread in the Mixed section. I've added some Gold Key and Whitman books. I'll be putting up a bunch of Charlton with alot of war in high grade, and then a small amount of Silver/Bronze as well. If anyone is interested in something, don't hesitate to PM. I really need to make way for some new items I'll be looking for. And, I need to give my daughter back her closet.
  2. Nice book, Joel. I've been wanting to have something like this done for some time, but haven't found the right book for me. Maybe a Legion 300.
  3. I'd say it depends an awful lot on the wording.... "Would you take $X? I can give that much, and would want it if you can go that low." ... is different from... "Hey, just thought I'd check to see if you could go as low as $X." The first is almost like a tentative . And, the second is sort of a "feeler" question. I've made offers, and every single time the seller asks me to post a if their ability to take that offer is accepted. I've had alot of people I accepted offers on, and in some cases I couldn't get back to them right away. By the time I did, they had already spent the funds they intended to use elsewhere. Or, they just changed their mind. Although I think it's important to have a standard on selling, I don't think the probation list should be incredibly grey. Otherwise I'd probably have put a half dozen people on it, and might have ended up on it myself. I'd let the all mighty rule the day, and make only serious phrases of acceptance control weather I put them on the list. I almost feel like it's a, "If you have to ask if they should go on the list, they probably don't deserve to be there."
  4. Glad you are doing ok. Love the new sig. C +1 on both accounts!!! (thumbs u Brian I tell ya what, I'm not normally into blondes, but Kaley has a special place on "the list". The better half is fully understanding of this point.... Accepting... no. Understanding... yes.
  5. Hey guys, I've had some personal issues of late, also issues with my paypal account. . I just sent payment to the fellas.
  6. I, for one, don't think the split is a bad idea. I like not having to dig 3 pages to see everything. If I'm in the mood to browse all 3, then it's just the same as it was before anyway. But, I do see a distinctly smaller number of watching and buying. I just hope sellers won't give up. I don't buy an awful lot, and don't sell much either, but I love to look.... and you never know when I'll pull the trigger.
  7. I see things like this and just want to give up. If only funds were limitless. I'm still looking for my first cover. Maybe I'll try commissions, and do cover recreations instead.
  8. I'm so sorry, I need to step away to retreive my jaw which is now sitting on the floor 5 feet away. :o :o
  9. These books are just so pretty. I've got one with two sigs, but it means so much to me I'm going to flaunt. And, not to turn this into a buy thread, but I'm always looking for very high grade copies of the Doctor Who books in this run.
  10. Camera is up and running again, so I took a slightly better pic. I may have to find a legal-bed scanner.
  11. OH wow, I'd REALLY love to have a Flash like that.
  12. I guess I should put my big one up.... it's got: Neal Adams, George Perez, Paul Levitz, Carmine Infantino, Tony Dezuniga, Joe Kubert, Jim Starlin, and Walt Simonson It's my SS pride and joy right now. Not even my Gibbons Doctor Who book competes with this one.
  13. Well, this is my first posting in this section, and hopefully one of many. Picked this up at the flea market of all places. It's wasn't exactly on my wish list, but I've got a list of 15-20 themes I'd like to get this year, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was one of them. I was thinking I"d have to get 4 pages to get it all, but this has everything all in one..... Page 24 from issue 42 of the original series. It's got all four turtles, Master Splinter, Casey, and just feels like my misguided youth. I love it! My digital camera batteries are out, so this is from my cheesy phone camera. I'll replace it when I get batteries.
  14. Easyt63, Which comics are in those binders? How do you get comics bound into binders like that? Do they take all of the issues apart and put them in a binder? ...I would really like to do that myself! -Issa Unless it's something I'm unuaware of, they are likely 3" binders with pages. Ultra Pro, and others, make pages in verying qualities (most are mylar with flaps, but have a 3-hole tab on the left), and I've toyed with the idea as an alternative to boxes with new ongoing series. I wouldn't have considered this 20 years ago, but trades have caused me to start thinking. The cool thing is they now put out comic binders so you don't have to use plain ones, or sports binders, like alot of people used in the 90's.
  15. Now that's a nice comic room. Are those comics in those binders? I've been debating on switching from "traditional" boxes. How many can you fit in one of those bookshelves?
