This is the first retrospective for Hildebrandt, who with his late brother, Tim, is among the most revered fantasy and science fiction artists of the last fifty years. Not only will the show include some of their coveted Tolkien paintings that have never been shown before, the artist will attend the opening reception, to be held Friday from 6-10 pm.
  7. Dear Bidders and Consignors, The ComicConnect Summer Special Auction was attacked Friday evening at approximately 9:25pm. A sophisticated DDoS attack (Distributed Denial of Service) was launched on our servers and brought down the auction. We are deeply sorry for this. Although we've gone through great lengths and expense to protect the site, this attack still occurred. Rest assured, our database was not breached and no client data was at risk. This was a directed attack on our servers. All lots that were disrupted will be rescheduled for Wednesday, September 7th at 7pm. They will begin at their last bid amounts. The first lot will be Weird Mysteries #5. Other than this email, posting on our site and message boards, we will be personally reaching out to bidders on Tuesday and Wednesday to make sure they are aware of the new day and time. We cannot thank enough the myriad number of bidders and consignors who have reached out to us, not only with their concerns, but also their support and understanding. We appreciate it very much. If you have any questions please email robr@comicconnect.com or call our offices Tuesday morning at 888-779-7377 Ext. 121 or 212-895-3999 Ext. 121. Sincerely, Vincent Zurzolo COO Updated with additional information 9/3/16 at 5:07 PM

  10. NEAR COMPLETE COLLECTION OF SUPERMAN COMICS IN AUCTION NOW
  11. SUPERMAN RUN IN AUCTION!!! ComicConnect is offering a copy of nearly every Superman comic book ever printed in our next auction. Near complete runs of Action Comics, Superman, Adventures of Superman, annuals, variants and so much more will go under the auction hammer this month. In the consignor’s own words, collectors will find a story similar to their own. “As a boy I collected comics, with a particular interest in Superman. While my original collection was completely destroyed back in the 70s, my passion for Superman was reignited in the 90s. With a job that found me travelling around the globe, I scoured comic book shops for Superman. I planned to collect purely the title Superman, and only Superman, which is why that run is more filled out and complete than Action Comics, even then I have a huge selection, but Action Comics only became more of an interest later, after already filling out Superman. I found comics as far as the UK, in pretty much every state in the US mainland, and Canada. Nothing was more fun than visiting a local comic shop in my travels and finding a Superman treasure I’d been searching for for decades, allowing me to check off a spot on the huge list I carried in my wallet. Even with the Internet, I still found excuses to go to comic shops during my travels. Ultimately, my goal was to put together a complete ‘Superman’ collection and in that I’ve been successful in collecting over 2100+ issues and I took it as far as I could – and with that it’s time to let someone else enjoy the fruits of my labors.” “We’re thrilled he chose our auction house to represent his labor of love,” said Rob Reynolds, Director of Consignments. Go to Superman Collection to view and place bids – starts Monday!
  12. This isn't correct. The book didn't hit reserve so was relisted automatically.
  13. Hello CGC Forum Members, We have answered many of you privately but we wanted to post here for the rest of you to read. With the exception of a few items of lower value (approximately $300 or less), everything Mike Burkey consigned with ComicConnect had a reserve. Those lots either hit reserve and sold or did not hit reserve and remained unsold. Mike Burkey did not bid on any of his consignments in ComicConnect auctions. Furthermore, the ComicConnect site prevents such occurrences from happening. If you have any further questions please contact us. Thank you. Stephen Fishler CEO
