  1. Not a bad round, but I also dinged the Showcase #97 for the foxing on the back cover...dropped it to 9.2 because a book I submitted last year that looked like a 9.6 got dropped to 9.2 because of a small spot of foxing on the front cover. I guess timing is everything!
  2. I just finished the Netflix version and thought it was pretty entertaining, despite the many changes from the books...looking forward to season 2 (assuming there is a season 2). My wife who never read the books or watched the Chinese version also liked it, for what that's worth.
  3. Newest addition to the collection...getting closer to finishing my #105-151 run! #105 and #106 are the remaining big books on my list, so there's still going to be some pain in my future.
  4. My friend who also watched the Chinese TV series said he had to rewind quite a few times to re-read subtitles when characters were discussing deeper concepts. Both he and I read the books, and I wonder how the Chinese TV series would be for someone who did not read them. I've heard good things so far about the Netflix series, and can't wait to check it out!
  5. While I'm looking forward to seeing this, I'm also worried it won't do the books justice. @AJD, I totally agree with your assessment of the books...I found some of the concepts in them (especially The Dark Forest and Death's End) both ambitious and chilling. I recently watched the Chinese 30-episode(!) adaptation of The Three-Body Problem on Amazon and felt that it stayed fairly close to the source material (although it did add a few characters). Definitely worth a watch!
  6. RIP...I had the chance to meet her at SDCC in 2006, and got a cool Wonder Woman sketch. She was a pleasure to speak with and very gracious.
  7. Congrats, Ben! That's a very nice-looking copy for the grade!
  8. 4.5 for me as well...I'm not an expert on pressing, but would ask the presser you choose whether or not the tanning on the spine might make the book risky to press. From the photos you shared the interior of the front cover at the spine doesn't look too tanned, but it's always better to be safe than sorry. Should you move forward with a clean and press, I can also see the book bumping up to 5.0 after this is done. Regardless of what you decide to do, the book presents very nicely for its grade and has rich cover colors!
  9. Solid 9.4 with a shot at 9.6...sweet book!
  10. Grades submitted...this was a tough round! Huge thanks to @CGC Mike for running another awesome grading contest!
  11. While I thought season 4 was not quite as strong as seasons 1-3 I still loved it and am looking forward to season 5, assuming the show gets renewed...
  12. I'm offering up Fantastic Four #265 CGC 9.6 and Fantastic Four #270 CGC 9.6. They were bought off the rack by me and have not been pressed (in case this is important to you). $50 $40 each or $90 $70 for the pair, which includes shipping in the U.S. (I'll cover $20 of the cost for international shipping). All proceeds go to JimJum12...thanks! SOLD to @CAHokie...thanks so much!
  13. Hope you're able to make a full recovery, @jimjum12! I always enjoy reading your posts and love the positive vibe you bring to these boards...
  14. I did pick up quite a few bigger books this year, but these three are my favorites (for now ): Cracked this guy out of a CGC 7.5 slab...
  15. Updated with a final price reduction before sending it off to another venue...
  16. Good point! I was just thinking of the Flash's main title and not his four Showcase issues...
