  1. There's also a new youtube vid about Wolverton to help promote the books. It's called "The Comic Book Career of Basil Wolverton."
  2. Really appreciate the support and kind words, guys. Enjoy the yuletide. Here's a page from my next book, due out this summer - a collection of BW's humorous comic books. 172 pages of complete stories, all fully restored and color corrected.
  3. HUGE discount now at a certain bookseller. Would make a nice Christmas present for a Golden Age or Wolverton fan, and help keep me afloat to continue creating such books. Thanks!
  4. A selection of ten pieces (mostly illustration art) by Bernard Krigstein can be found at the Nate Sanders auction. Ends December 12.
  5. Just a note to alert readers that the 448-page second volume of my biography on Basil Wolverton, "Brain Bats of Venus," has just been released and can be had at a considerable discount from a certain book seller that I guess I'm not allowed to name, as CGC took down my previous post. If you're a fan of Wolverton's work, or have an interest in the history of the Golden Age of comics, please consider buying it so I can continue writing such books. Otherwise this may be my last one! Thanks a lot!
  6. Twenty drawings and illustrations by Bernard Krigstein are being auctioned here: https://natedsanders.com/catalog.aspx?category=87
  7. Hi, I'm looking for a scan of the "Powerhouse Pepper meets Hitler" story from Joker Comics 14 (Feb 1944). Would like to show it the second volume of my Wolverton biography. Please send me a PM if interested in helping. Thanks.
  8. I'm about to start production on the second volume of my Basil Wolverton bio, BRAIN BATS OF VENUS, and could use color scans of his humorous work from Joker and Gay Comics. Please send me a PM if you're interested in helping out. Thanks, Greg Sadowski
  9. Note that Wolverton's original splash panel for "Where Monsters Dwell" was rejected and replaced by a Timely staff artist.
  10. I'm still looking a Suspense 8 for my Covers book, the last cover I need. Anyone out there willing to make a 400 dpi TIFF scan? I'll thank you in the book and send you a free copy when it comes out in December. Send me a PM asap - deadline is approaching. Thanks.
  11. Has a sort of Guardineer feel in the Red Eagle, then obviously influenced by Jack Cole in the Robotman. I agree Thompson should be better known, especially considering he was also a writer. Would love to see some interior pages from Feature Book 17 (Gang Busters) if possible. He did the cover so I assume he did the interior as well.
