  1. Many thanks for the suggestions and advice everyone - really good of you to take the time and effort to respond to my post - much appreciated!
  2. Thanks sfcityduck, exactly the advice I was looking for, really appreciate your comments
  3. Not sure if this is the right section to post this but potentially looking to book a trip to NYC from the UK for 3/4 days in October and wondered if anyone could recommend - a) areas to stay and b) good comic shops 3 of us incl 11 year old son but I’m hoping to negotiate a bit of comic-hunting as well as the usual sightseeing stuff. Any advice welcomed!
  4. Hi, can anyone recommend any reliable US online sellers who will post to UK at reasonable rates? (excl so cal as I have experience with them already, just looking for alternatives)
  5. Maybe it’s a UK thing!
  6. Anyone come across any worse price-marking than these . How to spoil a great comic cover.
  7. Re Newtons rings... Be good to know if the problem is Comic v inner encapsulation or Inner sleeve v hard plastic casing I suspect the latter, but that's just an assumption I think there must be a slight moisture or oiliness issue. The CGC should investigate and confirm, in my opinion. It shouldn't be hard as clearly one part of the 'process' or materials is lacking.
  8. Yes and fluctuations in temperature will lead to condensation somewhere along the line...
  9. I've found Quicksilver Comics & Comicana Direct to be two of the best, but be good to get other opinions
  10. Not sure if this is the right place to post this query, but I received a cgc slabbed spidey comic today (5.0, not a high grade) and it absolutely stank of smoke Any advice on how I can freshen it up? I'd hate to use the wrong substance on the plastic casing. Anybody had similar issues?

  12. Thinking of sending for grading.... 5.5?
  13. At this rate, you'll be getting them in record time! Good to see you picking up some bargains as well
  14. Thanks, Jon That's a great help - at least if I see a copy on Eb*y I can ask the right question. I guess some folk must've cut them out of some issues. Cheers, Steve.
  15. Whoah!!! Fantastic-looking copy of #18 'Nice' is an understatement!
  16. Anyway, as I was saying..... [Never mind that fantastic ASM #1 Forrest acquired and those great issues Spidey 1981 posted (I'm very envious of those - you seem to have built up a great collection of ASM's in a short space of time!!)] Some help required... I'm looking for a mid/low grade ASM #20 but eb*y adverts sometimes say "with pin-up page" or without. Can anyone post or pm a scan of what this actually is, or explain, so I can check I would be getting a 'complete' comic? I haven't seen this issue 'in the flesh' and don't want to get ripped-off if I bid on a copy. Any advice appreciated
  17. Guys First - Congrats Forrest on that fantastic ASM #1 !!!!!!!!! Secondly & less importantly, some help required.... I'm looking for a mid/low grade ASM #20 but eb*y adverts sometimes say "with pin-up page" or without. Can anyone post or pm a scan of what this actually is, or explain, so I can check I would be getting a complete comic? I haven't seen this issue 'in the flesh' and don't want to get ripped-off if I bid on a copy. Pardon my ignorance!!
  18. Nice buys, Macman! Also, good to see you adding scans again. Always intersting to see what you guys have been adding to your collections. I'll get myself a scanner sometime and get some of my comics displayed on the forum! Unfortunately, none below #28......yet!
  19. ....me too, but I expect 1-20 to be a bit expensive! Blue808 & the collectron - they're comics to be proud of! Excuse me while I turn green..!
  20. Upgrades? Some of us need the early issues in any grade!! Still, that aura of 'anticipation' compensates!!! (a bit)
