  1. I'm a big Everett fan so ST 150 for me. I'll take it! Mark
  2. 2 and 6 had 2 stories each so 4 total of 8 - 10 pages each - did they break up both stories per issue? My page never made it to my CAF Mark
  3. Ms. Marvel - nostalgic sweet spot Ms Marvel 18 interiors inked by Ricardo Villamonte...not Cockrum Mark
  4. Did the DD #1 page sell - didn't see it when I paged through? I feel it is a cardinal sin to set reserves above market price - there are pages here that did not meet reserve with bids above market....very discouraging to bidders.
  5. Wow - Agree that this auction seems to be bulging with great art!
  6. Must say I saw at least a few prices which looked strong but reserve not met - really discourages bidding...if you are going to have reserve at least it should not be above market
  7. When I look back on 2016, I didn't acquire many trophy pieces so decided to enter only affordable art. I was shooting for all 5 to be under $500 each and got 4 of 5 with the fifth under $750. All together these 5 pieces cost comfortably under $2K so you can collect this stuff without being totally flush. I also consider my Lowry entries to ensure they represent my interests as I am always after more art...so if you are considering parting with any art like this please let me know....no Everett, BWS, Jones or Kirby here this year but change that for me in 2017..at well over $500, I know. Link: http://cafurl.com?i=3033 The Five: Two Published: Interior Panel Pages >> John Buscema / Joe Sinnott - Nova Powerhouse...1st Powerhouse in Costume (sans cover) >>Joe Colquhoun - Paddy Payne (Lion, British)....British WWII Fighters are so cool One Published: Strip >> Darby Conley - Get Fuzzy Daily Strip!...Tops for me in 2016! One Unpublished: Commission >> Nick Cardy - Batlash and Babe Pencil...my first Cardy One published: Other >> Dave Stevens - Bettie Prelim...my first Stevens Thanks for looking and voting! Happy Hunting
  8. Cool book! Has anyone argued with fewer new sales = fewer survivors?
  9. I am curious of the motivation - does the family feel that folk that bought art that was returned to Jack should be 'harassed'? Are they only going after 'stolen' art? Or is it lawyers or just no clear communication?
  10. It would be nice if there were some statements about pieces that are in the clear...assuming this is about stolen art vs. returned art? For example, if an entire book was bought from the Kirby's directly are the pages from that book now broken up in the clear?
  11. I like this page an awful lot - always saw it in the eBay listing at $100K but that did not feel inexpensive - would be very interesting to see what it would garner in a Heritage auction
  12. Not to be a party pooper but how would you come up with $1M for 300 mid-grade Silver Age comics? 300 books * $250/each = $75K + 75K for AF15 etc = $150K...and that is all too high If ya gotta ask, it's over your head. I would guess one milllllion dollars...
  13. Agree - the signature wasn't terrible...perhaps the Y was the worst
  14. Hello - love this thread I haven't found much of anything but do have a Craigslist buy add out so I did look at some books at a guy's storage shed recently - I was not expecting much and was right. I pulled out a ~ 10 books worth perhaps $3 - 5 each and told him the rest were for charity. He essentially then asked for any offer for that small stack so I bought them. The two 'best' items were 1. A "Marvel Madness" Back Issue fun pack - 4 books shrink wrapped with a light blue sticker than says $2.00 and has a code 6-2-164. I felt this was the best thing he had as the top book was a The Infinity Gauntlet 3 and like the other commons looks like a 9.4. 2. A reading copy of Legends 3 If anyone knows anything much about the "Marvel madness" 4 pack, please reply or PM me Mark
  15. cool avatar Yes, I like Everett also - but cool thread - neutral ground and all
  16. I posted what I had recorded but looks like it was before a more current thread, edited it away from my original post and will update my Excel file - the difference was DD 181 and DD183. I don't have pages from those issues...
  17. No Linky but I cut/pasted what I thought was the final word into my Excel file:
  18. Wondering if anyone has the address of 'The Studio" - I know it was in Chelsea but looking for the specific address for my next visit to NYC Mark
  19. Sold an ASM 3 I wasn't to fond off (too much tanning) but haven't been able to replace it at the right price Might need to trade for it Mark Does anyone have GPA for ASM 8 in 9.2 and ASM 8 in 8.5?
  20. My primary acquisition from SDCC '15 - a light convention for me but I have been after a Colan/Everett romance page for a long time now! Click on the picture to visit my Colan/Everett CAF gallery. If you know where more of these Colan/Everett romance pages are please send them my way!
  21. I didn't discover Atlas PCH until my Everett original art habit overflowed into Atlas Everett comics - never made it my top priority, except for Venus, but happy I picked some Everett Atlas up when I saw them. From the Top 10 list published here, I have his Venus books, Menace 5, and Spellbound 17 (beat copy)...watching them more closely now but they are now quite pricey!
