Martha Washington Needs YOU! In the early 1990s a bunch of comic artists published under the “Legend” imprint contributed artwork to Frank Miller & Dave Gibbons’ “Martha Washington” series. Walter Simonson, Paul Chadwick, Arthur Adams and Mike Mignola each produced a single pin-up image. The original art has recently been unearthed and, inspired by #ComicWritersChallenge , will now be auctioned individually online through BritComicsArt.com for charity. In addition, Dave Gibbons and Frank Miller have each produced a new image for auction. #MarthaArtAuctions proceeds will go directly to Black support organisations in the US and UK, chosen by the artists The first auction will be for Walt Simonson's pin up of Martha Washington and it starts at 9pmUK time/ 1pm PDT on Monday 22nd June and will run for 5 days. Besides supporting a worthy cause this will be a rare opportunity to acquire a published Walt Simonson pin up for, as many collectors know, he does not usually sell his published artwork. Bids will be taken via the website and instructions can be found on the site once bidding opens on Monday. If you have any queries, please contact us at BritComicsArt.com Cheers Joseph

Happy New Year, Comic Art Addicts! I am creating this sale listing for my pal, Mel. He is selling a Gumby pinup by Art Adams, published in Gumby the Collected Edition (Wildcard Ink, 2007). This is the Gumby series written by Bob Burden and drawn by Rick Geary. The series won an Eisner in 2007 for "Best Title for Younger Readers/Publication for a Younger Audience." What a piece to get the new year started! The art is 12"x9" and appears to be matted, but Mel says it is not framed. SOLD! If you are interested in this piece, please contact Mel Smith directly at wildcardink@yahoo.com Thanks! John Espinoza

Art Day with Art Adams Gen13/Generation X cover Anyone who knows me knows that I love Wildstorm art from the '90s, by Jim Lee's arm of Image Comics. It is part of my primary focus in art collecting. So this piece is a dream come true for me. I have always wanted an Art Adams cover from his Wildstorm days, but have never been able to find one that was both available and that I could work a deal for. I basically couldn't afford one, but I have become adept at trading. So I was looking to get any Art Adams cover and didn't dare to hope for a Wildstorm one specifically. This cover was one I have always wanted in particular because it has both teams on it, and I just love Art's style on it and his take on the teams. So I was constantly looking through CAF for anything, and when I came across this one on another CAFer's gallery, I reached out. He wasn't looking to sell but said he would consider a trade if I had another Art Adams cover to trade to him for it. So here's where it got a little complicated and I reached out to dealer Mike Burkey. He had a nice Art Adams Marvel cover available so I managed to do a 3-way deal. I traded Mike art and cash for his cover, had him ship to Murray (the other collector), and Murray sent this to me. Everyone is happy and I managed to get a cover I never thought possible! So big thanks to Mike and Murray for working with me and making this dream come true! Here's a link to my CAF for a super hi-res scan: http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1401779 Thanks for looking! Dave K
