I've been collecting Superman and Batman for quite a while, but I've been getting away from SA and BA books, so I'm going to be listing that part of my collection during the next few weeks. I'm going to start with the BA books, then the SA books, then add quite a few 10 cent books, early SA/ Atom Age/GA...whatever you want to call them;) I plan on listing books for about 2 hours at a time. I'll note the days in advance and the time. If I won't be able to be there at that time, I'll hopefully let you know in advance. There are at least 450 books that I'm going to be listing, so this will take a few weeks. Feel free to accumulate the books and pay at the end, unless you prefer not to wait. There will be one thread for the BA, 1 for the SA and one for the early SA/Atom/GA books, but you can combine the books so that you can take advantage of the shipping discounts. Since these are all raw books, I'm pricing by looking at completed prices on eBay, then I deduct what fees would cost me and a little more. I accept Paypal, checks or Money orders. First here or in a pm wins, by time stamp. If I can't determine the time stamp, the board take it wins. I will send invoices at the end, once you get the invoice, payment is due within 3 days unless we have discussed other arrangements. If you need time payments, it's not a problem, but please PM me before taking anything. Prices are going to be low on these books (at least I think they are low) All the books are raw, A few notes. None to the best of my knowledge,have been pressed or cleaned. I count the pages on every book. I look at the centerfolds to make sure they are attached, if they aren't, I note it. I look for missing coupons, and I grade the way I'd like someone else to grade for something I'm buying, but anyone can miss something or make a mistake. So...If I left anything out, just ask. I take returns on anything. If you aren't happy for any reason, plmk within 3 days of receipt. If I ask you to return the book, then I expect the return within 7 days, packed the same way I sent it. If you just changed your mind, shipping is on you. If I made a mistake, return shipping is on me. Shipping, I will charge exact shipping, but I will discount if you buy a certain amount. Spend $100 and get $5.00 off shipping, $200 and get $10 off shipping, if you spend $300 or more, I'll ship for free (in the US, in Canada I'll split shipping with you if you spend more than $300). If you live anywhere else, just pm me for shipping estimates before you buy anything. For the USA, I use regional boxes whenever it lowers the shipping price. I don't charge for handling. All books are bagged and boarded, most are going to be in new bags and boards. Most are in Mylite 2's and hardbacks. I can ship 2 regular (1 Giant) books in a cardboard mailer for about $3.00 3-5 books in a flat rate envelope with very strong boards (one will have a wood veneer) for $6.00 12 books in a regional box A for about $8 east coast, $11 West coast. (if it's less I charge the exact amount.) A regional box B is slightly higher but holds at least 20 books. I do not ship comics media mail, because the Post Office states they can not be shipped media (it's in their regulations) and I don't want to be responsible if there is a problem. Tracking is included and so is insurance (I pay for private insurance.). If you buy more than $200 worth of books, signature required is a must, but I pay for that in the US, in Canada, those packages must go priority. I can ship first class to Canada, but its not cheap. Max is 4lbs. I'm going to add a lot of freebies on the thread. If the requirement is # of books, that can't be combined with one that has a money spent requirement. This way, hopefully a few different people will get the freebies;) I also add some kind of free gift to each order. No list people please. RECAP Page 1 Action 295, a great looking copy with some hidden defects, the top staple is detached from the cover. There is a corner fold on the top of the centerfold (probably when it was printed, I unfolded it;) There is a tiny nick at the top of the spine. It's Hard to grade, but without the staple pop it would be at least F/VF, so I'm going to price it at about half that. Bin is $30 Page 2 Action 317, One of those goofy but fun Red Kryptonite stories where Superman's face turns all kinds of colors. 2nd story is about Supergirl and Lena Thorul (Lex Luthor's sister) and their friendship. Lena is quite a different person in the Supergirl TV show, you'll have to read the story to see the difference;). Nice color, lower staple pop. There are some ncb creases on the back With the old Overstreet guidelines, I'd call it a Gd/VG but it's much too nice for that. I'll let you guess the grade;) bin is $9.00 page 3 Action #318, Death of Luthor (on the Planet Lexor!) and Supergirl pledges a sorority . Several long creases, grade is Gd/VG (3.0) maybe a tiny bit better. Bin is $8.00 Action #324, there is one , 1" or less piece of tape in the inside of the back cover, covering a 1/2” tear. Creasing and a stain on the back. Grade is Gd/VG, Bin is $6.00 Action #328, Atomic Bomb hands! Supergirl and the intergallactic version of the FBI;) Nice color, some creasing on the front with a reading crease on the left, stain on the back that goes through a few pages. Grade is VG – (3.5) lowered for stain (someone left this on the kitchen sink;) . Bin is $8 -
Its the Most Wonderful Time of the Year! And to celebrate, here is the 9th annual Dale Roberts Comics Holiday Sales thread! There will be 100s of books in this thread, hopefully something for everyone. The one constant is that everything will be cheap! I have bought literally thousands of books this year and the majority of books in this thread have never been listed anywhere else, not even on my website. I have been setting stuff aside especially for this thread all throughout the year. There will be tons and tons of deals in this thread. Not only will everything be very tightly graded, but most books will be significantly discounted, some books up to 70% off of market price. There are keys, semi-keys, movie books, high grades, mid grades, and low grades, and as always, lots of books that you just don't see around, and almost all of it will be CHEAP, heavily discounted in some cases! Lots and lots of bargains for the collector, and room for dealers to make money. Lots of Neal Adams, Bernie Wrightson, Jim Steranko! Frazetta covers, Raboy covers, Schomburg covers, LB Cole covers, GGA, Pre-code horror, Pre Hero Atlas, and cool Romance books that you just don't see. I can't imagine that you won't be able to find something you are looking for at a very good price. I will be listing several times in December and the thread will wrap up in early January! Invoices will be sent in early January, and no shipping will occur until that time. So even if you don't have enough cash right now, you have about 1 month to save up for your purchases. As always, payments will be due at the end of the thread. I will not be mailing books prior to that time. As always, Satisfaction is Guaranteed. If you don't like any book, you may return it for a full refund. Rules - :take it: is king! I welcome reasonable offers by PM, but not 30 seconds after the book has been posted. Ok. Admittedly I should have decided this first but that ship has sailed. Itcame back a 4.0 which I thought was nice. Hovever the twisting spine roll is a big defect. If I crack it out and have it pressed by cgc sister company, any guesses about grade after? If it comes back even a 4.5 I would think it was worth the investment. But I don’t have much experience getting books pressed. Think they could get this one straightened out and if so chances of a bump in grade?

Hi there. Please bear with me – I’m new to this board. But I’m moving and have decided to sell a significant part of my collection, so I found this board while researching good places to sell. Historically, I haven’t had too many books graded, but have sent in a few over the years, so I wanted to post them somewhere popular with CGC collectors. So here’s my first offering. It’s probably my best golden age book – a very nice copy of a fun issue. Hate to part with it, but need to cut down on all my ’stuff’ a bit. I've never seen a comic this badly miswrapped. And not only is the cover miswrapped but all the pages are crooked as well (maybe that's normal on all miswrapped comics?). There is a bottom staple. It appears to have pulled in and it doesn't show itself until page 3. Any guesses to a grade? Thank you in advance!

Hey everyone Putting my Batman 11 CGC 2.0 Restored up for sale. I’m eyeing a new purchase and can only justify it if I sell something. This is a great entry level copy...Joker covers are always on the rise...the restoration will scare some buyers away but IMO the book presents beautifully. Hard to find this book at all. Looking to buy pages from Batman: HUSH and Batman: The Long Halloween. Primarily looking for a cover, splash, or DPS, but will definitely consider pages as well. Yes, I’m familiar with steep prices and will offer accordingly. HUSH: Offering 30-35+ for the better splashes and 35-45ish for covers. Open to buying straight-out, or if necessary doing trade or cash + trade, but would prefer straight cash. Hi gang, Here's an unusual but kinda cool offering: a lot of 31 Coverless readers from the Golden, Silver and Bronze ages, including a truly rare book and a few keys. First, the rules (this post). Then, the descriptor. Post #3 will be the pix, completing the offering. Price will be for the entire lot shipped within U.S. (Medium Priority Flat Rate box).
