Ulik the Troll, and Thor’s main nemesis, is wielding both his Mallet and Mighty Mjolnir, which he captured from Thor in the last issue. Thor, of course, came back and reclaimed it in the last panel. Considering we just had a Thor splash sell for $100,000 this seems very reasonable. I’ve been seeing some Thor small sized pages sell for $15,000 to $20,000. Ditko Magic Eerie Yearbook 1970 p30 Splash by Steve Ditko Wash pages are usually special in that they add depth and texture to an art page. Having it drawn by Ditko makes it more special. These splashes don’t come around often. If it was two years earlier and Spider-Man, this splash would be selling in the $250,000-$500,000 price range. So this page is clearly a great value. The equivalent Wrightson splash would be two to three times more for even more perspective. Hello, My name is Philippe and I own and operate Philippe Labaune Gallery in NYC. We showcase original comic art by 20th and 21st century artists. Our inaugural exhibition was a homage to Katsuhiro Otomo and showcased almost 30 international artists creating works paying tribute to Otomo's "Akira". Opening July 1st, the gallery will be exhibiting drawings by Dave McKean from his 2012 graphic novel Black Dog: The Dreams of Paul Nash. The Human Torch is just at the start of his worldwide popularity now that Marvel is about to launch the Fantastic Four movies in their next movie phase. Considering that Sal Buscema covers are now $50,000- $100,000, this Gil Kane action cover seems very reasonable. Unfortunately, it probably doesn’t exist, so this is the closest that any collector will get to enjoying this historic cover - though you will undoubtedly enjoy the heck out of it once you hang it up. This Cap and Falcon spread is wall to wall action. Cap may very well be the single greatest character that Kirby ever created. Captain America and Kirby traversed from the Golden Age of comics (1941) to the Silver Age (1960’s) to 1976 when Kirby came back to Marvel and drew Captain America issue 193. These Kirby double page spreads are nearly impossible to find, especially one featuring Cap, and the now exceedingly popular Falcon. It doesn’t get much earlier than issue 2, and it’s nice to have both Hawkman and Hawkgirl battling aliens on this splash.
