  12. Hi all, I recently submitted my first CGC verified signing via R.I. Comic Con. I went through 3rd party vendor “Captured Collectibles” for the processing. It’s been almost a month now and was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me how I can track or find out my submission status on this?…C.G.C. has yet to email me a tracking number so I wasn’t sure if they even received/processed this yet or if I am supposed contact “Captured Collectibles” for this info?….I already emailed them and waiting for a response though I figured I’d try to get some insight via C.G.C. as well….please and thank you.

  14. Burnaby Comic Swap Meetup on Sat. April 18, 2020 at the Safeway Community Room on the 3rd floor next to Burquitlam Skytrain Station at Clarke Road (essentially North Rd) at Como Lake Road on the Coquitlam side of the border. This Meetup is btwn 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. patterned after the Seattle Comics and Craft event which is targeted towards more serious comic book, mag and art collectors. A variety of vintage comic book dealers and some brand new vendors will be setting up for a nominal fee. As the vendor tables are small, each dealer is allowed to bring a maximum of 3 short boxes or about 2 longs of comics and paper collectibles to assure a nice mix. Please pmail me if you wish to reserve a small table, as space is limited. Load in/out via 2 freight elevators to the mezzanine level of Safeway. Collectors can park for free for 2 hours at Safeway covered ground level. Recommend that vendors park next door at Burquitlam Plaza strip mall (uncovered) for free up to 4 hours. Sorry, no Funko Pop. Guest speaker of honor will be @427Impaler , the chief conservator of Excelsior Conservation Inc. The Professor will share his vast wisdom about comic conservation vs. restoration. He is scheduled to speak and offer a before and after comic slide show btwn 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. including a Q & A period. Hungry? There is a Safeway Cafe and Starbuck's at ground level. Please do not bring any outside food or drink (e.g. McDonald's that is across the street), as it will not be allowed on the 3rd floor per Safeway's rules of use. More information and a map is on my Facebook and Instagram under "Burnaby Comic Swap" Meetup. To keep track of the head count, please register at Eventbrite.ca FREE ticket Vendors so far who have expressed early interest in setting up include: Mediagraphics, Comic Adventures, aardvark88, @Fan Boy, Adrian C, Mister Ed, the Architect, Rick from Abby and perhaps Errol from Abby. What else can you squeeze out of aardvark88 for FREE? May be able to access free Safeway wi-fi from the 3rd floor mezzanine area. Hope I don't lose my shirt trying to build stronger relationships for the Vancouver suburban comic book community.

  19. I am looking to get several comics signed at an upcoming local convention. Fortunately, CGC and the convention both claim a CGC Witness will be present. I have seen many forum posts about how to get your SS slab but they all were for when there would be a CGC booth at the convention. My Questions: When I arrive at Con, what should I do to get my comics signed in the presence of a witness? What will happen next? Do I need to be a CGC member? (since there is no CGC Booth offering their on-site services) Thanks for any/all help! (I want to get Ultimate Spider-man #1,#3,#5,#100, Spec#1; Ultimate Fallout #1, #4;and ASM #361 all signed by Mark Bagley; and Michael Golden to sign Ultimate Spider-man Spec#1) => Not looking to resale, just for personal collection. Yes, I'm ready to drop some dough.

  22. This is the announcement thread for the Calgary Comic Expo in 2018. The dates are April 26-29, 2018. I will be set up with my standard 2 booths, same location, right beside/behind @500Club, @kimik, @Artboy99, and @thehumantorch. I'm hoping that my buddy @aardvark88will set up again, too. This is always a great show, and by far, my favourite show to set up at and to attend, every single year. On top of the high attendance, the strong sales, and the decent guests, the great group of boardies that come to Calgary, make this easily the single best "must attend" show. In the title of this thread, you can see I wrote (Fan Expo Canada). Well, the news announced today says that the Calgary Expo and Fan Expo (Informa) have joined forces. Only time will tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I, myself, liked the way the Calgary Expo was run. Other than the unnecessarily strict demands of the staff running around citing Fire Marshal this and Fire Marshal that, the show was excellent the way it was. This joining of the two teams hopefully brings more big name comic and celebrity guests to the show, and my fingers are crossed that this doesn't lead to booth cost hikes for 2019. I'll keep adding to this thread with updates on guests announced and news. @Kevin Boyd, if you know any details or if you're the guy who's supposed to post the updates as they come, feel free.
