About Me

  1. until
Our 18th annual convention! Held at the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center in Lombard, Illinois. 155 tables of pulps, comics, paperbacks, movie memorabilia and other vintage paper collectibles!
  2. My name is Carlos Franco. I am an old school pro who has worked for both Marvel and DC comics. A few of the titles I drew on are Justice League, Green Lantern and War Machine. I am taking pre-orders for fully rendered cover style commissions and cover recreations. Please view the samples below. The Black Panther and the Batman have been sold. The Deadpool and Colossus is still available for sale at the price of $599.99. If you are interested in doing a pre-order, I am charging $499 per fully rendered illustration. Thank you very much for viewing my post, God bless. BLACK PANTHER, BATMAN, DEADPOOL.
  3. Last year was a blast! It was their first year for the show and Mike and the guys threw a great comic con. Sadly, I'm only going to be able to be there sunday and won't have a lot of time to draw- so if any body wants a doodle, now would be the time to order a commission http://www.artbythibert.com/head-sketches Comic Con Revolution - Ontario

  5. hey guys im sure this has been done before but i cant fine one so i suppose why not just create one. post a picture of your grail and name the reason why you love it so much, also your "Grail" does not have to be a key issue or anything like that, it is just the book that YOU love not a book that someone else says you should love. i'll start out with mine, i've shown this book a lot on CGC but i just love it, and sure its not the most valuable book in my collection but is was my first ASM book which is now my favorite series and its the only comic i own which i personally got Stan to sign. plus love doc ock, and that Ditko cover though
  6. Hi comicheads, We create interactive digital graphic novels featuring metal bands from all over the world. The comic books are created in collaboration with real bands, based on their true stories and history. After conducting an initial interview with the band, we add some epic fantasy and mythology to the storyline, as well as use inspiration from their lyrics and real-life events from the band’s history. The bands, as well as record labels, become our close partners and collaborate during the creation and distribution of the graphic novels. Combining the story with new tech we present a digital comic book of the metal bands to their metalhead fans and not only. "EMISSARY OF THE ANUNNAKI:THE TALE OF THE FIRE KING" metal-themed graphic comics novel. It promises an engaging journey into the Grim Sumerian Underworld as well a sneak-peek of the mysterious fiery planet of Nibiru. It is an interactive story of a metal band mixed with dark fantasy, mythology, and documentary. This is not advertising, just assist us, soon we'll lunch a campaign in Kickstarter. Please, subscribe for release here: http://md-comics.com Thanks a lot!!!! *dear admin, if you want to delete this Topic, SORRY for it

  9. Hello, I am very new to this and I am just on this site for my first time so bare with me. I have an akira vol 1 #38 that I believe to be mint and I want to send it in to be graded. How does the Process work as far as payment. Do you pay them afterword or before hand? Thanks
  10. Hi folks - I hope this is appropriate here. There's an auction on Invaluable on March 20th with some raw comic lots. It's here... https://www.invaluable.com/catalog/vgyhhmtat6
  11. So I've been seeing some good comics for auction online at www.EBTH.com (Everything But The House) and decided to try the waters with some better bronze age books. Here's what you need to know" 1. They don't appraise anything and use a generic description for all unslabbed comics including the default phrase "various degrees of wear, fading and discoloration present on the spines and covers of the comics;". I didn't realized this was put there by default when I submitted 5 flawless NM comics. Specifically, "Peter Parker Spectacular Spider-Man" #1-4 (1976-77) and "Web of Spider-Man" #1 (1985). 2. You have to submit pictures with your application to get approval to sell on their sight via consignment. 3) All items can be had for a starting bid of $1 (no minimum). In my case, I applied to sell all 5 comics as a bundle hoping to get into a higher commission bracket (wise?, unwise?, answer is pending). 4) Your pay-back depends on how much they go for: $0-75=50%, $76-250=60%, $251-750=65%, $751-$2500=70%, $2501-5000=75% and $5001+=85%. 5) You mail the comics into one of the companies regional offices and they photograph them and run the sale and you get a commission check 3-4 wks after the sale closes. 6) All sales last 5 days. EBTH pre-paid for me to ship them via UPS and mailed me the mailing label. I had to package them up and was responsible for insurance over $100 if I wanted it (didn't). 7) You are given 2 days to review your auction listing before it goes live. 8) You don't get to pick when it goes live. In my case, I had to wait about 2-3 wks after they received it for the auction to start. 9) If you don't like something on the listing, you can inform EBTH via email or phone but phones are not open on weekends. 10) They may hint that they will change the listing if you don't agree with it, but, in my case, did not follow through. 11) There is a way to plug in your comic to a feature called "Ended Items" and see past auction sale amounts earned for your comic. This is a great feature, much like ebay's, that I discovered late in the game. If I had found it sooner, I may have gone a different direction but I chose the comics I did because I had multiple sets of the same and wanted to see how a series of NM comics might drive up the price. The GOOD: Lots of people are mixing a few good comics with a whole bunch of bad comics and selling as a package with some decent returns The BAD: Really good comics that are not slabbed and not pictured professionally don't get the attention they should. My batch of 5 NM comics has been languishing at $60 for the past 2 days with 22 hours left in the sale. That means that if there isn't a final flurry, my take will be $30 and someone will get a hell of a deal. I sent daily requests to change the incorrect default description to seller support and have many return emails from seller support stating they have sent my concerns to sales but no reply or changes ever came from the sales department. Verdict: Use the site wisely for unloading lower-rated comics by mixing in a few decent books. That seems to be the best strategy. Slabbed comics seem rare on the site but may be a good move for more expensive comics that get up higher in the commission schedule. I recommend you DO NOT put good quality unslabbed first or key issues on this site unless you just need to unload them fast and cheap. This may evolve into a better system if more attention is given to comic sales but right now they seem sophomoric (No office staff on weekends!!!) This is a much better site for buyers than for sellers. I saw some outstanding deals people got on rare golden age comics in the "Ended Items" comic inventory. My sale ends tomorrow night so I won't offer this as a final seller's verdict until the gavel falls. Stay tuned tomorrow night....

"Plastic City was amazing! The crowd was happy, the vendors and artists were top notch. I will be at this event every time they have it. 10 star rating if fb allowed it." "Best Con of the year! Any freaking year!!! Keith (the promoter) has the perfect vision of what makes an old-school comic show work due to years of being in the trenches. I should know, I was there crying with him. He took that winning formula and applied it to what is wrong with shows today. The result is Plastic City Comic Con and the beginning of a new movement! BOOOOM!!!!!!"

  18. Haven't been selling for a while, but thought these foreign variants could find a new and good owner here. First here triumphs over everything, unless listed SOLD by me first. Books are in Singapore. International Registered Airmail (with tracking) to US is $8 for 01 book; $11 for 02-03 books; $12 for 04 books. Packing: The books were originally shrink-wrapped with a board in between. I will be mailing the books in between another 2 hard boards in brown envelope. Price: $25.00 each book. Books Condition: minimum a 8.0, I see some very slight bending caused by the shrink wrapping but not sure if they would straighten out once removed from shrink-wraps. Let me know if more info required.
  19. Hey guys just wanted to get rid of some books as I need the money right now so sadly I have to sell my few Stan lee sigs, these I have bought three different seller through out the years and though I have personally met Stan I would never give the sigs I got away as those are too special to me, so is it risky I don't know there not CGC SS but some of them look like his older sig (the neater legible ones) in a few of the books he signed in a horrible place but still neat pieces I have compared these to others and they don't look that far off but you be the Judge here they are 1.where creatures roam 3 signed by Stan on first splash page in blue pen nice sig 2.marvel team up annual 4 has a big hole in bottom and sig goes into a black surface which makes the last two e hard to read but still very nice sig 3. Amazing Spider-Man poster I don't know if is the original as I have never seen that one before nice Stan sig in spideys leg legible and nice now to the bad ones 4. X- men deluxe 48 signed by Stan right In the black!!!! ???? still a nice legible signature if looked up closely and the important part is it's there 5.this one is just weird but cool in the same time it's a coverless modern age book!!!! I have no idea what issue it is and don't know if it's just missin the first wrap or the cover or what ever it's just strange but Stan did sign it why did he sign it I have no idea but it is a Stan sig anyways the guy who sold me it was beyond disbelieve too but I guess you can tell your friends you have a coverless modern age marvel book that is signed by stan asking price $295 shipped i mean I actually paid more than that but I end the money and fast really cool none the less and hey for anyone who wants to own some cool stan sigs even if someone them are "less" than cool thanks
