Well, after a lazy couple weeks, it's time to do something around the house besides clean and drink, Weather hasn't broken here in Michigan yet, or we'd be having cocktails on the front porch and waving at the neighbors, but it's still wet and chilly hereabouts, so... Time to list some funnybooks! I'll be listing the entire Silver Age Doom Patrol run from MGA 80 right up through the three reprint issues, along with some nice Romita Spidey readers, and the complete SA Silver Surfer run, 1 through 18. I'll intermix the odd Golden Age book in, along with more obscure coverless comics and cover wraps, Yeah, yeah, I know. Business as usual with more Silver than normal, DA RULEZ I'll put up a big scan of the FC, note anything else I spot, and as always, if you'd like a scan of the back cover I'll be happy to supply it. Shipping to USA preferred, but if you want something sent to Canada or overseas PM me and we'll work something out. :TAKEIT: rules the roost, but PM's, kibitzing, and general tomfoolery are welcome. $8.50 Priority shipping to the USA for one to four books, well packed in a padded envelope. $15 boxed Priority for larger quantities. Canada or overseas to be determined. For the bargainminded I can ship one or two books First Class for $4.50 CHECK OR MONEY ORDER PREFERRED, I just plain out don't like paypal. If you just GOTTA pay with paypal PM me and we'll work something out. Returns for any reason on your dime, and for any missed major flaw or bad description on my dime. My Kudos thread: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4287314#Post4287314 Here we go! Amazing Spider-Man 51 Rough Romita Reader Corner off upper RH FC, several chips and tears along spine BC. Interior is nice, offfwhite - white pages Asking $10

Hi, all: I've listed some good and affordable 1980's original comic art for sale on ebay as follows: RICH BUCKLER PETER PARKER SPECTACULAR SPIDERMAN #103p3. I never thought I'd see this in a Marvel Comic, but back in 1985, writer Peter David somehow managed to sneak in a great homage reference to the Origin of Batman in the top three panels of this page, plus there's a nice image of Spidey at the bottom. Here's the link to the auction: https://www.ebay.com/itm/RICH-BUCKLER-PETER-PARKER-SPECTACULAR-SPIDERMAN-103p3-1985-BATMAN-ORIGIN/153671026949?hash=item23c781c905:g:D0cAAOSwI9FdlpqP PAT BRODERICK BATMAN 437p15 (1989, BATMAN YR 3/ORIGIN OF ROBIN), this page features the three central characters of the Batman mythos: Bruce/D-I-c-k/Alfred. Linky:https://www.ebay.com/itm/PAT-BRODERICK-BATMAN-437p15-1989-BATMAN-YR-3-ORIGIN-OF-ROBIN/153671020032?hash=item23c781ae00:g:3GIAAOSwuh5dlpep RICHARD CASE/GRANT MORRISON DOOM PATROL #35p15 (1990, ENTIRE TEAM/TV SERIES). Hey, hey, the gang's all here on this page, as dysfunctional as ever and ready for a permanent spot in your collection. The Books Silver & Bronze CGC Graded Keys. Priced for sale. General Rules No PL/HOS members The new board software does not display precise thread post times (either in PMs or in sales threads), which can result in the inability to determine whether a PM post or thread post came first. One thing remains certain - it is easy to tell whether one post in a thread came before another post in the same thread. So, the first "take it" posted in the sales thread wins. If we reach a deal via PM, I'll mark books SOLD in the thread as soon as reasonably possible - but ifsomeone else takes the book in the threadbefore your PM take isacknowledged in the thread (by either you or I), the thread poster is the winner, I'm afraid; so, there is some risk oflosing a book if you try to remain anonymous via PM. (Credit to EC Ed for these rules. I have adapted them with his permission) I kindly ask that you not Quote a book and then make a comment. It makes the book appear to be sold. Payment I'll take PayPal for total sales under $1000 if PayPal is your preferred method. Personal checks, or USPS money orders for total sales $1000 or higher. I'll expect payment within 10 calendardays of invoice, or the book will be available for sale again (unless we've made other payment arrangements) Time payments are available for purchases of $2500 or more with 20% non-refundable deposit and monthly installment payments so purchase is paid in full no later than 12/15/2018. If monthly installments are more than 10 days late or payment is defaulted the 20% deposit will be retained by the seller but the rest of monies will be returned to the buyer and the sale will be nullified. Shipping Terms USA: $7 for raw and $15 for graded in any quantity Canada: $15 for raw and $25 for graded in any quantity. Overseas- Shipping at cost. I only ship overseas to established board members with references. I now only ship one time a week (usually Mondays) so please be patient as it could take up to 10 days to receive your purchase. Returns/Refunds General Policy: I will accept returns on raw books within two weeks of your receipt of the books, as long as the books are returned to me as they were when you received them. If there is undisclosed restoration on raw books I will take them back up to 6 months after the purchase. On raw book returns, you cover shipping cost back to me unless I missed restoration or a major defect. There are no returns on graded books.

The origin and 1st appearance of Doom Patrol. First appearance of Dr. Niles Caulder, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl, and the Silver Age Robotman. A different 9.0 copy sold last April for $8000. I'm asking less because, frankly, I got a good deal on this one. Payment via Paypal, money order, or personal check. $6500 shipped for this key book, that, in my opinion, has been flying under the radar for years. We all know how keys have exploded. This book's day will come.

Non-Superman Diversion...The Doom Patrol!
tomo posted a journal entry in Turning Bronze and Copper into Steel
For the first two days of this week, we've had a look at the two Marvel titles that I still maintain a collection on, so let's take a look at a DC one now. I've mentioned previously how I was a big fan of The Sandman back in the early-to-mid 90's as it was coming out. Naturally, I sampled some of the other titles and quickly fell in love with the Grant Morrison and Richard Case run of Doom Patrol. It's a helluva 40+ issue run, and definitely rewards repeat reading. When I started reading this, I had no prior experience with either the Doom Patrol or Grant Morrison, so it was a bit of a baptism by fire. Needless to say, they hooked me deep and I've been following every iteration of them since. The back half of that volume with Rachel Pollack writing sorta peters out, but it was all right. I was probably one of the only few who enjoyed the John Arcudi/Tan Eng Huat run, as I appreciated the unique visual look of the art. The John Byrne run is typical past-his-prime Byrne. I also rather liked the Keith Giffen/Matthew Clark run as I really enjoyed that post Infinite Crisis/pre-Flaspoint era of the DCU. I think the DCU is just now getting back to the same cohesive universe feeling that made the books from that era a lot of fun, but that's a post for another day. It wasn't until the last 4 or 5 years that I started to seriously address finishing out the Doom Patrol collection with the original run. I finally was able to secure a copy of My Greatest Adventure #80 from June 1963. I picked this one up at a recent auction a few months ago at my LCS, and probably paid full retail for this nice-lookiing VG copy. I've picked up enough bargains at their auctions over the years, however, that I don't mind occasionally paying up for the books I really want. The majority of my DP collection also came from an auction at my LCS in 2015, as they were auctioning off a 30 issue lot. I ended up paying about $200 for that lot, and did all right considering these two were in it... A nice looking copy of their first self-title issue with Doom Patrol #86 from March 1964... ...and the first appearance of Beast Boy in Doom Patrol #99 from November 1965! I'm down to missing only six issues at this point, and it's getting to the point that I just need to pony up and pay full retail to finish this run out, rather than waiting to stumble across some more bargains. This title has been under-appreciated at large for too long, so I need to lock this one down while it's still relatively cheap. Besides, this title has some of the greatest covers from this era. Great stuff all around!
