There are a lot of posts about single pages scattered across the boards, but I have found no thread dedicated to them. That makes the hunt for these posts a bit problematic. I myself have talked about my belief that as keys grow more expensive, people will more and more resort to the collecting of single pages. But there’s another dimension to the pursuit of single pages. Even for those lucky enough to own a key book, it’s usually going to be slabbed and therefore impossible to see the interior. In order to enjoy the book, maybe we satisfy ourselves with a reprint. personally, I find the collection of single pages to be another way to bring a slabbed key to life. So, let this thread be safe haven for those of us who possess single pages. Let’s see your single pages. ill start . . .

Interested to see if anyone knows of specific traits or identifiable features that could be used to identify likely cover artists on Fiction House books? It seems like a lot of these Jumbo Comics covers are unattributed on comics.org. I imagine it's near impossible to attribute these books now with confidence--just wondering if there are things to look for? I'm specifically hoping to identify the likely cover artist on Jumbo Comics 121 (1949). Did Matt Baker create/contribute to any of these Jumbo Comics Sheena covers? Or just the sky girl interior art? Thanks!

I have long appreciated Baker's Phantom Lady work, but am relatively new to his romance art. This is a simply beautiful cover with great graphics and spicy cover tag lines. Ed Noon, and the Bouncing Betty by Michael Avallone. “She was a beautiful mattress tester, and she bounced our private eye into a double bed of trouble“. AKA Private Investigator Detective Magazine, vol. 1, no. 1. this was actually published before the paperback of the same name. Apparently Ed Noon was a Perry Mason type. Michael Avallone wrote a dozen books with this private investigator character. There is a Raymond Chandler bit, as well as 2 short stories within. Beautiful rare pulp. Unrestored and unpressed VF “though I’m not a professional grader”. Look at the images and I think you’ll agree. Front cover is a gorgeous blue-eyed blonde in privare eye Ed Noon’s office. Based on what’s inside the top of her strapless dress, it must be a cold office. They cover art is not signed, but it is exceptionally well done, and is by Freeman Eliot. Back cover has a Boris Karloff photo. Quite rare, David T Alexander has one in lower grade (VGminus) on eBay right now. That’s the only other one I’ve ever seen. Appears to have been unread. I have included a photo of the spine, which is unblemished. Registration is perfect, but the spine logo is wrapped 1/8” to 1/4” onto the front cover. There is a very small bottom back cover corner piece out, 1/8” by 3/32”. There are 2 1/4” non-color-breaking creases at the front spine. There is a small 9/16” non-color-breaking indent lateral to the blonde’s hairdo. It could be pressed out easily. The rectangular shadow on front cover lower right is from my phone. There is no sun/dust shadow. $300 - same as DTA’s listing but much better condition.

It's been a minute since I listed any books on the boards, so I apologize in advance for my hiatus. Usual rules - no bad people, HOSers, Probies, etc. Take PayPal up to $1,000, above that prefer check (references available, have sold to many a reputable boardie using check) - check must clear before books sent. No returns on slabs, sorry. Shipping in CONUS is $15 (Priority box), for above $1,000 free shipping. Outside the US ask about shipping. Shouldn't be an issue (sent to Canada, Australia and even Saudi Arabia once) I will entertain offers. I will serve them drinks, talk to them, make sure they are comfortable, maybe even recite poetry for them. But no guarantees I will accept them. I seriously like offers. I first posted this under “Water Cooler”, but it wasn’t getting much notice. I am hoping to hear the thoughts of others as to where Overstreet is missing the boat. My motivation is probably mostly focused on Planet Comics, but surely there are other pockets of inaccuracies. What do you guys see? oh, here is my original post: Just got mine. The usual suspects got some small bumps - like lower grade Cap 1 and Bat 1 and pre-Robin tecs. I’m a little surprised there was such little movement on Cap 3, and NO movement on Planets. Why no movement on Planets? Maybe I’m the only one who likes em. Here’s another thing surprised me. AA 16 slipped ahead of Batman 1 in the Top 100 Golden Age comics. AA 16 is now #4, and Bat 1 dropped back to #5. I realize the final hammer is days away, but in the upcoming Heritage auction, AA 16 is currently losing to a lower grade Bat 1. How about you guys? What changes do you see? What changes don’t you see that you would have expected?

I have what I believe are all Australian digests/pulps for auction. Manty are from the Phantom Book Series and the numbering corresponds to that series. Most measure roughly 5.5" x 7.25" - the Carter Brown is roughly 5.5" x 8.5" - So This Is Love is roughly 5" x 7" I tried to find as much info as I could and have listed it. I cannot guarantee all the info is correct and would welcome any updates. Mostly worn but from I can tell all complete. I think they are somewhat hard to find but I am in the US and they may not be in Australia/New Zealand. I believe they are all from the 1950s but the Carter Brown may be from the 1960s. Crime Story Detective Volume #6 #10 - I couldn't find any info on this one - pieces out of covers and spine split about half way but still currently holding together. Great Painted Cover on this one. Hunt the Killer #6 -1958 - Cool cover, and decent condition but rough spine, The whites on the cover are part of the cover but if you look quickly, it appears there are missing pieces which there are not. Knife in My Back #634 - 1955 - Spine roll and glue on spine of cover. Mountain Bride #269 - 1954 - Star Books - stains, small pencil on first page - rougher back cover The Case of the Black Orchids #607 - tape on spine, extra staples. small pencil, pen first page/interior BC Carter Brown #5 Reprints three stories by author Carter Brown - "Lady is Murder" "Cyanide Sweetheart" "Madame, You're Morgue Bound" - glue on spine of cover So This Is Love - My Pocket Library Series - Small pencil first page but this is the nicest of the lot.
