Hi again. Please offer your best guess. I think it needs a pressing and a cleaning, but is otherwise in pretty good shape. Thanks!

Who thinks they have the ultimate auto book?

I am having my collection evaluated by a CGC dealer to sell. He found this store stamp on the Fantastic Four #50 with two marker lines (1-10/16””x3/8” & 1-1/2”x7/16”) through part of the address of the store stamp. I had graded the comic a FN 6.0 before this defect. How would this affect the grade?

Hello all! Please grade my ASM #50. Obviously, there's a piece missing from the cover, and I'm wondering how that will impact the grade, with or without a pressing. The colors are still nice and bright, but the edges are fairly worn. Let me know what you think!

Hi all, I am a noob to the whole comic gig and I have a couple questions and concerns regarding fees and how they pertain to comics when sending into CGC to get graded. My first concern is why CGC charges so many fees in regards to grading or even pre-screens...they even charge you a percentage on books that they returned not graded (CRAZY)....who can afford these prices....even with my elite membership....I feel this is still a huge rip-off....but anyway perhaps I am missing some info on the grading process or the best way to go about this. I am looking to send in about 50 comics to get graded, I have no idea how much they are worth or how to fill in the online submission forms accurately to insure I make no mistakes....and most of all, how can I find out the how much the total cost would be if I were to send out these 50 comics before I actually send them out....this is all so confusing and the CGC website is so vague on explanation, especially to people who are completely new to this....if anyone can point me in the right direction or give me some clarity on these issues then it would be great help. Thanks in advance, -IRONICK

Hi, complete newbie here. I just received a copy of She-Hulk #1, but it looks like there's a part of the back cover missing. I don't see anything else wrong with the book, and it looks fairly high grade otherwise. How badly does this affect the grade? I'm thinking of asking for a refund because this damage was not mentioned by the seller and the photos showed the back cover was not missing any pieces. Thank you. ~Not Quite Bilbo

Hey buddy, can you spare a grade? If I was to get this graded, should I have it pressed? Sorry for the low-quality photos it's the best I can do.

I just bought a 9.2 cgc graded red label comic. The case has a crack on the front but so I figured I would send it in and get it re slabbed. i’ve done a bit of research and have read that some people believe the grading process back then was much tighter and that re grading a red label now might yield a higher grade by today’s standards. Would you play it safe and just get it re slabbed and keep the 9.2 or roll the dice and get a new grade. Thanks

I am completely new to this. I am in my 50's, and have a few thousand comics, mostly from 1975-1984. Most of those were bought new from comic shops, boarded bagged, and never read. I am realizing that comics which are graded here are far more likely to sell for a decent price than those which are not graded/slabbed, but just claimed to be in 'very fine' shape. I've looked at eBay completed sales for example and see listings for Conan The Barbarian in which a 9.8 book has sold for $100+ vs sub-$20 not graded. Given the number of boxed I have to sort through, what do you recommend I do to just get started? Pull out 10 titles that at least look like they are great shape, and have a shot at a high grade, and submit those? Or start with ones that will sell for higher regardless of grade? For example, aside from the bulk of 75-84, I have the first 200 or so Iron Man, starting with #1, but I know the earlier few dozen are likely 5.0- 6.0. I know not to kid myself about the grade. My goal is to reduce the collection over time, selling off the titles that I'm not emotionally attached to. Like Conan. Iron Man, I'd be likely to keep, and let my grandkids sell the set when I'm gone. But, at some point, get the ones worth the time all graded to make the selling easier. I am sorry if the question seems all over the place, but as the title says, this is my first time trying to get going.

Hello! Writting to see how badly these two creases will effect the grade.of this comic. As far as I can tell, creases take a comic down to 5-6 level. On an otherwise clean copy, is this the case?
-
The two bottom creases here look lighter in color. Is this where someone maybe put some clear glue? Opinion on what it could be? If glue would it be considered restoration? Thanks!

This is a complaint of sorts that I have been seeing with the books I have sent in for grading and the lack of grading notes to show how CGC has arrived at a grade. I have several silver age books that I have submitted myself or purchased of eBay. It seems like I will have two 8.5's that look entirely different in regards to condition. both are black along the spine so creases will be more visible and one will have several stress lines around the staples and the other won't and they will grade the same. As far as I can tell the one with no stress lines has no other significant blemish to offset nice spine compared to the other comic. I even have comics with stress lines along the spine that have graded higher than another book with no stress lines. Now don't get me started on Spectacular Spider-Man #1. I have over 50 copies ranging from 6.5 to 9.8 and the grading is so off the chart. there are 8.5 that are in better condition than 9.2's it seems it just whomever happens to get thew comic across their desk that does the grading. Is the grading been standardized at all? Do they use computer scans to get a better grade or is it all human and subjective?

Hi guys! So first things first: I'm brand new to this community and I'm not sure to know how things work around here, but I guess a good start would be just to jump right in and ask the questions I have, so here I go! I've recently purchased a 2nd print first issue of the Walking Dead, and I can't seem to find any information on its value. I do mean to sell it but to offer it to someone who's got a lot of experience in collecting Walking Dead comics, so I want to be sure I'm offering something that's worth wrapping up and calling a "gift"! Anyone can help on that? P.s.: also there's a picture of the comics I bought...any idea on why there's a black band on the side of it?

While downsizing I came across some comic books. One is a #1 issue of Teen-Age Romance. The comic book itself is in good condition but, it's been encased in a cover (for many, many years, I'd guess) and, when I opened the cover to asses condition I found that the plastic cover is stuck to the front and back pages? Does it still have value?

I am having a hard time deciding if my 1945 Frankenstein #1 is worth paying to get graded? It's not mint by any means, but I think it might be fairly rare. Any helpful information about this particular comic is welcome. Thanks

Ok. Im trying to figure out if this Zap #1 is 2nd or 3rd print. First print is 20c. This one is 35c. But it doesnt list the print run on first page like most do. I'm confused. Any help would be appreciated. How about a grade while we're at it. Its hard to see but there is some color fading along edges in the yellow.

Can I look up grader notes on books other then the ones I submit. Thanks, MAtt

Hello, wanted to get your input on this book. It presents VERY well and I just got it pressed which smoothed out some wrinkles. Its major flaw is a detached centerfold. What do you think the grade will be with that major flaw? Thanks!
