Hey everyone, I'm certainly not on the boards as much as I once was, but this place truly used to be my home. Throughout the years, I've been fortunate enough to never have a big shortage of money. I wouldn't say I was rich, just blessed to always have enough. Today, I find myself in a more serious need for help. I don't want to make this a charity thread, just a sales thread (with a dash of "please support me"). Ultimately, I have a need for cash, and I've got a whole lot of books. If you can help me by buying a book, I'd greatly appreciate it. It'll really help me out immensely. I'll try to have reasonable prices on the books to begin with, but feel free to make an offer, if you'd like Tracked shipping to Canada and the USA is $5 per book (maximum $30) Tracked shipping to overseas is $30 Prices are in USD I accept payment by PayPal, personal check (if I know you), international money orders, cash, or EMT (if Canadian). Jan 8th Clifton Comic Book Expo-Alternate Venue! IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT OUR WINTER CLIFTON COMIC BOOK EXPOS! The state of NJ requires every municipality to set aside a building for the homeless as a warming center when the temperature drops below freezing. The only building the city owns that is available every day is the Community Recreation Center that we have held our monthly show in for over 30 years. It is supposed to be a brutal winter, the safety of those less fortunate than ourselves takes precedence over selling "funny books" and there is no way to predict the weather far enough in advance for us to be able to use the space, so from January to March, we will not be able to... BUT!!! Since our show has become iconic to the city and the area, the Department of Recreation has arranged an alternate location for us for those three months (only). 1/8, 2/12 & 3/12. We will be at : The Clifton Early Learning Academy 290 Brighton Rd, Clifton 07012 Admission still $5. It is on the other side of town but offers a gymnasium space larger then the Rec Center and a large parking lot. Our hours will be slightly different: Dealer load-in begins at 7:15 and the room must be cleared by 4:00 (the tables need to be sent back to the Rec Center) Show hours are 10:00 to 3:00 FOR THE SECURITY OF OUR VENDORS WHO WILL BE SETTING UP IN AN UNFAMILIAR SPACE, THERE WILL ABSOLUTELY NOT BE ANY EARLYBIRD ADMISSION UNLESS YOU HAVE BEEN PERSONALLY INVITED BY JP! PLEASE RESPECT THAT IF YOU WISH TO BE ALLOWED AT OUR SHOWS! We thank the Recreation Department for going out of their way to accommodate us and look forward to seeing all our friends as usual! Our 2nd show is Aug 20th after our first one in May. 18 dealers with 36 tables of comics and related items. Free Admission and Free Parking. I will be marketing to larger cities this time around. Last show was 300 to 400 estimated so I would like to get the numbers higher. See flyer below as well as Facebook page for show. I am not yet accepting new dealers yet as I finalize current spots for existing dealers. Anyone near me that wants some flyers PM me and I will mail you some out. Could anyone confirm, is this a newsstand copy of Wonderful Wizard of Oz #1? I've been trying to see if this actually exist or if there are any records of it being an actual copy (CGC do not have this on their census.) Is there anyway to get in contact with CGC if they could designate this as a newsstand/variant edition since I'm thinking of sending this in.

How many of the members here use CGC for their personal collection? i saw post on Facebook two days ago that said "use CGC for flipping" I thought that cant be right, most of my slabs are CGC and aren't going anywhere. Thoughts?

Newbie to the grading game so would appreciate the reasoning about the grading as much as the grade itself. The issue has some minor blunting on one corner, spine feathering, 2 spine stress marks (don't know if they class as ticks), and a crease on one corner. Aside from the grading, could anyone advise me on spine feathering similar like the one shown on this book. It seems to be very common on modern books, would this come into play for 9.8 considerations or be seen purely as manufacturing defects? For the crease, spine stress is this something pressing would fix, or could it potentially worsen the crease and make it colour breaking.
