Looking to Sell: the 6-issue series, Death of Kraven. Amazing Spider-man 293, 294; Spectacular Spider-man 131, 132, and Web of Spider-man 31 and 32. These are in very fine/near mint condition (obviously I am not a grader...see pics). Looking to get $55 for the series plus $8.70 for USPS priority mail (box, not envelope). Paypal is preferred. Let me know if you would like other information. Condition Specifics. Web of Spider-man 32's top staple looks like it may be a bit squashed. The back of Web of Spider-man 31 and Spectacular Spider-man 131 both have a fine fold/bend along the top. Also, 131 has a slight imperfection in the cut of the pages along the bottom corner. ASM 294 top corner is a bit scruffed. Spectacular Spider-man 132 and ASM 293 look just about perfect to me (near mint). thank you ziggy

My collection is all modern age comics from the late 80's to early 2000's. They are all bagged, boarded and in boxes. I have an excel file listing titles, quantity and my cost (most of them were bought direct from Westfield Comics) along with a current Overstreet Price guide value. I'm not really interested in selling any at the moment, but am trying to gauge what a good cut-off value would be to have sent in for grading. I realize that it is subjective for each person, so I'm looking to see what others have done in the same situation. For example I have half a dozen that show of value over $100. Would anyone go lower than that, like down to $50 ? Or how about a run of 3-4 issues together that value out over $100 ? Thanks for taking the time to answer! -

Hello CGC, and anyone else who peruses this thread! I'm creating this thread because the label update thread hasn't had a CGC response since 2015, and the changes I'm requesting are quite wide, a simple note within the books when being submitted wouldn't fix this problem for years. This has been on my mind for quite awhile now, and I finally realized that hopefully you guys can fix this. There are many things I collect, but two of the main things are Spawn and Blue Beetle. We all know that most of the early Spawn books were heavily overprinted for the direct market, what most people don't know is that they also printed books for the Newsstand, only ONE percent of what was printed for Direct. This means on a book such as #1, where there was around 1 million printed, there are only around 10,000 Newsstands. Now I know for #1 CGC has started to recognize the difference, however this difference is not only limited to number 1. Newsstands were printed from issue 1 through 112, and then 117-137. The Newsstand counterpart only becomes more rare as the print run decreases, combined with the fact that companies printed less and less newsstands as time went on. For example, Comichron indicates that for issue 137 (the final newsstand) there were 34,735 Direct units, this would mean that there were only around 3400 Newsstands printed IF Image was still printing Newsstands at 1% which they most likely were not. The whole point of this is that the CGC census is incorrectly displaying data unless you separate the two, for a book such as Spawn #98, there is only 9 on the census, so only one of them may be newsstand. That makes a huge difference, and would greatly help collectors like myself if we knew how many newsstands were actually on the census. With all that said, here are the specific label updates I am proposing in the event that a Spawn comic has a UPC, I will start with Spawn 2, even though you may already be labeling those. Spawn #2-63, 65-100, 106-112, 117-137 - Label: Newsstand Edition There are two different UPC editions for the following books, one with a sticker, and one without - Spawn #64 (only book with the UPC on the back, the sticker version has the barcode on the front) #101-105 - Label for those with a sticker: Sticker UPC Newsstand Edition; Label for those without a sticker: Newsstand Edition This means that the books on the first line should have two different designators on the CGC census (Direct and Newsstand Edition) and the books on the second line should have three different designators on the CGC census (Direct, Newsstand Edition, and Sticker UPC Newsstand Edition) The market needs to see these updates from CGC, it will help establish a true rarity of these books over the years. We, as collectors, know that they are very rare but it isn't being quantified. Please consider updating the early limited series' for Spawn as well, the complete info on which books have Newsstand can be found at the SpawnWorld link below. I also hyperlinked an article from 2015 that goes into more detail about the Newsstand differential and has info from Chuck from Mile High Comics. Lastly, I hyperlinked the Monthly Sales page for August 2004 to show the assessed order of Spawn #137 which supports my statistics above. Hey all, hoping you can help clarify the CGC grading tiers a bit for me. I'm mainly confused about the Value tier. My understanding is that, being the max value of each comic cannot exceed $200, it correlates most with the Modern tier. However, I would think that they want you to send as many to them as possible to grade; yet am I to understand that it's $27 per book under the Value tier (when I'm sending 15 comics, as per the minimum) while it's only $20 per book when I send one (to be graded under the Modern tier)? If so, can someone explain the logic in this? Thanks, Chris

Modern tier is greyed out...? I have been trying to submit a book from 1985 and the modern tier is not available. Has this been addressed anywhere else? Any help is appreciated.

One of my single favorite aspects to comics has always been the artwork and IMO, there has never been as many talented artists working in the comic industry at any give time than we currently have right now. The sheer number of high quality comic artists currently working today is pretty amazing. Anyways, as someone that absolutely loves comic art, I figured it might be nice to start a thread that focused purely on the best new comic covers either recently released, or are currently up for pre order. And by recently released I mean anything released in the last couple of months. I don't want this to be a thread where people start posting their favorite covers from like 5-10 years ago. This is purely for comic art that was recently released. Or any original comic art people might have gotten made via commissions and such. So I know this has kind of been asked many times before, but I have to ask again. I will be sending in 25 or so moderns for prescreen. I have some variant books in there, but most are regular covers. Im keeping a lot of them but selling some. Anyone have trouble selling 9.6s slabbed for $15 if they end up 9.6s? Looking for opinions. It seems like the most Ill lose on a 9.6 is $5 either way and any variants should at worst break even slabbed at 9.6. Plus its probably easier to sell a slabbed book. Am I correct in this or should I prescreen 9.8? Any input would be appreciated. Oh and 2 more questions. Will CGC let me know which ones are denied before grading or after? And when do they charge on a prescreen? Before or after grading?

Hi to All, this is my first post in about 12 years. Just wondering your expertise and opinions. Used to have a store from 1988 to 1996 but got out when they went wild printing books From the years of 1996 to 2015 I assume in the years that followed , there must have been a few years from 1996 to the 2010 or so where the printings went real low or took a dip. Was just wondering what years you feel that they really pulled back on printing? Was it from 1996 to 2000? Or later? There must have been a time of less printing followed by a time of more printing in the general market as the buying pendulum swings both ways? Or, have printings just continued to go lower each year up until current day? I used to go under my ID which at the time was NoImSpartacus. I don't think it exists anymore. Just got back into collecting and having a great time. Wow, the covers have sure changed. It seems I have just awoke from a 24 year old time capsule and Wow, everything is a Variant!
