What grade would you give this? I’m on the fence, it is advertised as 9.0, if purchased, I plan on sending it in for a pressing anyways.

Hey everyone, new member here. Got back into comics recently after a 20 year or so hiatus and had a question about the etiquette of requesting remarques. I apologize if this has been asked elsewhere, I searched the forums and presented my query to a gentleman down at my local Google, but neither venture was particularly helpful. I'm submitting a CGC 9.8 graded copy of Tiggomverse for the in-house signing and remarque by Marat Mychaels in September. I followed the directions and prepared a separate window bag, and was debating on writing quick notes on the painters tape surrounding the window sections. For instance, I wanted to write "sign here in purple" or "remarque/ sketch here" along with some small details, like color or size. Is this okay to do or do artists get a bit annoyed by notes around the windows? I also wanted to add a 3rd (small) window and request Marat to write "1/1" in a certain spot. I feel like that's asking extra as I'm already getting his signature and a small sketch, but I think it would look really cool on this particular comic (I know, I'm a weirdo). What are the generally accepted parameters pertaining to remarque requests, window bags, etc. so I don't submit it and have the artist roll their eyes, or reject my submission for excessive fussiness? Is it normal to write notes to the artist or is that frowned upon? Why am I spending so much money on a remarque for an issue of Tiggomverse? Any and all answers to the above would be greatly appreciated!

Greetings everyone, If this is in the wrong post...I apologize in advance (as well as for the glares in my pictures). My Hulk 181 was graded back in 2005 at a 9.0 (Off White to White pages). I love the book and plan on holding on to it for awhile. I wanted to obtain some opinions on having it pressed and cleaned and regraded. My fears would be to have it graded lower than what it currently is at a 9.0 or find out something worse. Thanks for the advice and sorry for the pictures/glare. Due to the size limit, I may need to add the pictures in replies.

I have this copy and had no idea it was valuable. Is it a trend or is it something that looks to be valuable for the forseeable future? I ask bc i was thinking of grading it but wasnt sure if its worth it or what it would grade at.

My Submissions no longer shows submissions that were less than 8 months old nor does it retrieve submissions on search. Is something just down? Books were received by CGC from pressing on 5/15 and were in quality control yesterday. Ignore this, I found a similar thread using different language for the same issue.

I am after advice here is a comic I own I have around 30 limited edition comics and books but I can not insure them. need advice on getting them valued or even advice on them in general they are all dynamic force sealed as well

I have just bought a membership to CGC/NGC and i'm very confused as to how I submit my comics, as soon as I get onto the page where it asks you "Submission Type" only the Drop off at London Office option is available. I was wondering if there was a problem or if they are not taking submissions at the moment?

For Roof / Home Repairs Longtime collector and comics professional, Larry Shell, is having a difficult time right now. Due to his being slightly disabled from two spinal surgeries over the past seven years, he is unable to work and earn a living anymore. Hello all! I’m PhosOx and I need your help. I came into a pile of comics that I need an opinion on if it’s worth my time to price out and try to sell. I came into a box of hundreds of comics that were in storage for over a decade. They were stored in a bin and loosely covered in plastic. There is a couple problems I am having that I have been trying to patchwork together form multiple online sources including these forums. So I decided to make a post and see if I could get some help from some experts. I’m not a complete noob, so it isn’t entirely overbearing as I play/collect Magic the Gathering cards so I understand the basis of grading and a lot of the niches of collectible selling. Here are the issues I am having: Grading: The comics are musty. I have looked at all the threads and online and I understand how to combat this. The answers I found could take quite a long time to sort out. My main concern is if the comics are molded or mildewed. If it isn’t just must from what I've read and seen the grade on the comics would near instantly drop to 2.4 and lower if mildewed. Is that true, if so is it worth the time even if all the comics I find are no higher than 2.5? Pricing: for magic there are online resources to quickly ascertain the price of a card. Are there widely accepted resources like this for comics? I would need to go through and price these and sort out the chaff. Find a $ point where I would be willing to de-smell comics. Reprints: I see some comics get reprints and as I never really owned comics I don’t know if there is a telltale way to identify an original from a reprint. Maybe I’m misinformed and it is very simple. Damage: From the handful of comics I looked through the comics seem to be intact. Pages looked white. From the research I’ve done so far the obvious big damage points I should be looking for are physical damages to cover and pages and yellowing of pages. Are there other big grade modifiers that I should be keeping an eye out for? Thank you in advance for any advice and help you can issue me. I will continue scouring the vast internet and see what I can find. It is just very daunting for a newcomer and I appreciate any and all assistance

So I had to go food shopping this afternoon. (Making tacos tonight, I'll send one to anyone who can help me figure this out). On the way back home as I'm driving I see this place with a giant life size Darth Vader out by the road with a sign "Now Open Sundays" I figure, ok cool lets check this place out. Turns out it's an indoor antiques mall. Nice place, really huge, very friendly staff. Walking around I see a bunch of cool stuff (original Beatles posters, old 1960s Jets posters, heck they even had the 2 1/2 foot working batman toy display from Toys R Us ($600 if anyone wants it). I go into one part where they have a couple old arcade cabinets and I see the item I bought below laying there. I saw the price tag and didn't even bother to look it over. Just grabbed it cause I love it and the price was right. Get home, put the groceries away and start looking at it. On the back is the framers sticker, oddly enough from a framing shop in my home town I have known for decades. They are known to be very expensive and only do custom jobs. Then I notice that it's double matted (again, not cheap). Dimensions are 27" x 24", so the frame alone would be several hundred bucks. So... what the heck is it? I know it's not the original Death Dealer (duh) and it doesn't look like Franzetta's signature. It's airbrush on canvas and it looks to be dated 1982. Any and all thoughts are appreciated.

My best friend is going on a trip and I know he loves comic books. We love to watch all the superhero movies together and I'd like to get him a cool book but I don't have that much money he's got an extensive collection so I'm not sure what to try to get him that is fairly cool but like under 20-30 dollars. I'm such a nerd. If anybody can get me some advice to be fantastic thank you. I was trying to figure out who my favorite is and I can't decide I know he likes Deadpool maybe that's a good one to look for huh? -
Hey so I have a question, I'm not entirely sure how things work but that's why I'm here to ask and get an actual answer since not many seem like they can answer things. So i have these god of war comics that i want to get signed and graded. I talked to the artist and they said they would be at sdcc. Unfortunately I'm not gonna a be able to go to sdcc. But the one artist said I could send the comics on to him to get signed and he would help me get the other artist. Would I be able to get the gold signature lable or what is the process on what I would have to do

New here and to collecting. Recently got a 5.0 comic but had a bit of issue with tape and this happend. What would be the grade drop off because of this.

Greetings! I just started collecting and noticed a lot of comics on Kickstarter. In general have you found that they hold their value better if they are "Exclusive KS Varients?" I know having them signed and graded helps. I have added 2 examples I'm interested in. In Comics Comics they have some varient covers that are exclusive. Squarriors has Oversized Hardcover Exclusives. I guess, what I'm getting at... Is it worth it to get it now and know it's kept mint, or wait until some hopefully hit the used market and buy them for less? Thanks in advance! Mike Examples: .. ... ..

Hi everyone. So today I got a CGC 9.8 Batman red death from EBay, and I noticed that there are some marks or scratches inside the case. I need to know if those marks are actually on the comic or is just the Mylar? Also, I just saw a little damaged corner. Is it normal for a 9.8 to have this kind of things?

Got this from a old friend. It’s a fifth printing which I did some research and found it was worth a bit, debating on getting it graded but wanted to know a rough estimate. Any advice would help (this is also my first post so any comments will be appreciated thanks!)

I'm a college student studying communications and language and one of my assignments is to study the language used by a group I'm not a part of. I enjoy marvel movies but I'm not very familiar with comic books. I was hoping some people here might be able to answer some questions for me about the interactions you have with other comic book fans and with people show aren't fans. you can answer all, some, or none of these questions, anything helps! 1. what (in you opinion) determines whether someone is a fan of comic books? 2. what got you into comics/ why do you enjoy them? 3. what are some common stereotypes, and how do you address those? 4. do you get together with others to discuss comics, and if so what types of things do you talk about? 5. what are your opinions on people who watch comic book based movies but don't read the comics? What about fans who do research on the comics related to said movies with out actually reading them? 6. how do you decide which series to get into? thank you again to anyone willing to help!

Hi, I’m new to this forum and really joined just for advice. I’m sort of new to collecting and have 50 or so modern comics. However, they are Archie Mega Man and Sonic comics and occassionally their front covers are smaller than the actual pages and it leaves a portion of the page exposed. Will this promote the exposed page to become yellow or oxidate faster? Will this cause any sort of damage? -

I just recently received this book, and as I am new to cgc's books I am not exactly sure what to think. There are splotchy marks on the inside of the case. I have read these may be just the plastics together, but I am worried about moisture maybe being in it. And there is also a creaking sound if you apply a little pressure to the case on the left side. I just need some reassurance.

I am having a hard time deciding if my 1945 Frankenstein #1 is worth paying to get graded? It's not mint by any means, but I think it might be fairly rare. Any helpful information about this particular comic is welcome. Thanks
