About Me

  1. I got my first ever slabs and you're not gonna believe what one of them has included So I've been emailing the artist Siya Oum of the Skybound Transformers #1 Siya Oum Variants ever since Black Friday of last year and it took since then to get both variants slabbed with her signature since we were both figuring out how to work the CGC out. They sent the slabs back to her and she sent the slabs over to me the same week. My family brought in the package on Friday night while I was out and I opened it with the upmost excitement as soon as I saw it and slowly took the slabs out of the box. First impressions of my first slabs: honestly I thought slabs were just a straight up flat surface, like an actual literal slab, and I expected them to be heavier so I was surprised by how light they were and to see that the label wasn't just flat but rather it sat upon an indention that's apart of the overall slab design that I did not know existed as I've really only seen slabs from the front. I was so happy to finally own slabs of my own until I noticed on (or rather IN) the Foil Variant's slab that there was something on Jetfire's leg. I looked and looked around it trying to figure out what it was. At first I thought that it was a crack on the inside of the slab but as I looked closer on its side I realized IT'S A WHOLE- PLASTIC SHARD ENCAPSULATED WITH/ON TOP OF THE COMIC Now that I know it's there on Jetfire's leg I can't even enjoy my first slab anymore. I had such high expectations for the CGC. I mean, how does this even happen? Did whoever does Quality Checks just not give a ? Did they think that was somehow part of the artwork? Did the guys encapsulating just see it and think "ah well, too late now" and why is it even there in the first place? Do they crack slabs in the same room and a piece went flying while the graders weren't looking? I don't know guys. It's just stuck there forever now. I REALLY don't wanna have to pay the CGC to fix their mistake and get it reholder'ed. I started thinking what if I sent it in for the CGC Daniel Warren Johnson send-in signing so that the slab gets cracked and reholder'ed anyway. But I don't know.
  2. I submitted my Daredevil #158 to the recent Frank Miller signing. When I got the book back I was surprised to see it came back a 7.5, but then I looked at it and was shocked to see the bottom right corner was folded up and pressed. The book was not in that condition when it was sent in for pressing, signing and grading. I have both photo and video evidence of the before and CGC just emailed me back saying it could have happened in transit and that graders base the grade on the book they receive. Totally understand that, but the book was pressed and signed before grading. Also, shipping damage wouldn't fold only the corner of the cover up, it would have bent the whole book. I think they are just trying to get out of responsibility. Thoughts? Attached is the scan of the book I sent in and the book now in the case.
  3. In particular, I notice that the Adam Hughes event page lists a remarque option for the first 50 submitters, but the only option on the drop-down for Hughes is a signature. I assume that means you've already hit the 50 submitters limit. Just checking to be sure.
  4. Frank Miller and Chris Claremont are doing separate in-house signings during the same timeline. I have the Wolverine mini-series 1 that they both worked on. If I pay both signature fees, can they both sign the same book?
  5. Hey everyone, I'm certainly not on the boards as much as I once was, but this place truly used to be my home. Throughout the years, I've been fortunate enough to never have a big shortage of money. I wouldn't say I was rich, just blessed to always have enough. Today, I find myself in a more serious need for help. I don't want to make this a charity thread, just a sales thread (with a dash of "please support me"). Ultimately, I have a need for cash, and I've got a whole lot of books. If you can help me by buying a book, I'd greatly appreciate it. It'll really help me out immensely. I'll try to have reasonable prices on the books to begin with, but feel free to make an offer, if you'd like Tracked shipping to Canada and the USA is $5 per book (maximum $30) Tracked shipping to overseas is $30 Prices are in USD I accept payment by PayPal, personal check (if I know you), international money orders, cash, or EMT (if Canadian). Returns are accepted if you are unhappy. You'll need to reach out to me within a week of receiving the book, though. My many thanks in advance. -Andy --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As many of you may already know, I started a sales thread over in the Gold/Silver/Bronze area. People have been most supportive already, and I'm eternally grateful. That thread is here, in case you wanted to see it:
  6. How do you sign up for an Artist Account for grading? I’ve done several Blanks and get that request.
  7. Will there be anyone there to view signing of comics in Novi, MI oct 14-16?
  8. I thought thses comic books were lost and gone, but then I found that they were being auctioned off I’ve already reported to the police and have had them flagged as stolen, If you happen to own these comic books please return them back to the original auction company you purchased them from, do not buy if you see them online being sold, there is a police report on this item, I have not told the auction house the correct information as I am letting this be handled by the police, These comics will be red flagged a stolen, I have talk to a police officer if anybody would like the number of the police officer I will not be providing the information on here as like I said I am only allowing this to be handled by the police, I noticed that this webpage changed when I posted this as I think that the auction house is deceiving people and I believe they know that this items were stolen as I can prove receipts and I can also prove that these comics were in my position in New Jersey which is where the items were stolenhttps://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/126921893_spider-geddon-0-cgc-graded-98-signed
  9. Please no hall of shamers or probies. We will ship anywhere in North America for $18 for a single graded book. All prices are in USD, and I only accept Pay Pal (or e-transfer for fellow Canadians). No returns on graded books. First timestamped gets it over any ongoing PM offers. Just one book for this week which I didn't list in my last sales thread since I wanted to keep it all Golden Age, without further ado... Swamp Thing #10 CGC 9.4 - Signature Series, Signed by Bernie Wrightson (in gold ink) White Pages Last Bernie Wrightson issue. Goes without saying that if you wanted to have a book signed by Wrightson, this was the series to get it done on - and finding signed copies is getting rather hard (especially ones with decent looking signatures. I've seen many signed with black ink over top heavy black covers making it very hard to see) This was one of my favourite covers of his Swamp Thing run, and his signature is positioned well over the amazing art. He signed in gold ink, and it was rather hard for me to photograph - but when you have it in hand it shimmers in the light much like the new CGC pedigree labels do. GPA shows a signature series 7.5 of this issue last sold in April this year for $870, and the signed 9.8 went for a steal at $1650 last year...but since I enjoy chaos how about... $650 SOLD VIA PM
  10. I bought a Signature series comic that was signed by Stan Lee but I want it redone. The comic is graded a 9.8 but there is a piece of debris (looks like a piece of tack adhesive) that is on the back of the comic. It wouldn't normally be an issue but the piece of debris is so large and against a white background it immediately draws your eye to it.
  11. So I need help. Skottie Young is having his CGC in house signing. I'm sending in my Strange Academy 3 Alex Ross Doctor Strange cover variant. So when Skottie signs it and it come back graded already, and then if I see Alex Ross is at a con or doing an in-house signing, how does that work? Would I bring/send in the slab and a CGC rep cracks it? And will the label still have the original signature dates on them? Thanks for the help everyone!
  12. Good Evening Everyone, I just received my book back from CGC. Came back as a 9.8. Signed and Remarked by Tyler. One signature by Tyler is in Manuscript and the other signature is incursive. Did he sign it twice because of the incursive signature not being seen? Either way it goes, I love it!

  14. Became a new member very close to a signature series deadline. Was able to overnight my comic in time, CGC was just busier than usual so my update was slow. Another concern was the multiple submissions I had sent for a single book. I was worried that my credit card would be charged multiple times but later found out that CGC only charges your account per book they have of yours in hand. What I learned from this experience: 1) Mail your signature series comics early and in bundles when grading multiple comics. Saves on overnight and regular shipping. 2) When calling CGC and living on the west coast, call early. Before 1pm pacific time. 3) When calling CGC, call on a weekday. No phone operators on weekends from what I understand and the deadline I had was on a Saturday, so get all your info beforehand. 4) Double check your comic book labeling for submitting. Research accurately everything about your specific issue. A variant I submitted was actually released 2 months after the issue it's based on. 5) It's okay to mess up multiple submissions. CGC doesn't charge you unless they have your physical comic book in hand with accurate labelling printed and shipped by you. So don't worry about multiple card charges for one signed issue of whatever. 6) If you must overnight your comic, there's 3 options: USPS, UPS and FEDEX. Mail your comic to the CGC PO Box if using USPS. FEDEX and UPS delivery, mail to the communications parkway address.
  15. Hi folks, I am in need of some $$ right now, so I will be putting up some books from my personal collection that I have never offered before. This thread will feature some signatures by people who don't do conventions, or who have passed on, plus whatever else I can come up with. Some will have minor defects with the label, so I will put them at a lower rate. And if I get enough traction, I may put up an Eisner. Usual applies, please only serious buyers. No Probation list folks. Shipping to the US will be $17 for the first book, and I will happily combine shipping for multiple purchases. Shipping in Canada will depend on where you are, but I will not overcharge you for shipping. First person to in the thread wins it. And off we go: Weird Secret Origins SS CGC 9.8 signed (interior) by Carmine Infantino - $149.99

  17. Hello all, I’m not new to collecting but new to sending in books for signature series. I have several books that are raw signed by Clayton Crain and other artists who have done signature series events before. If I send the book in to be signed and remarked by the original signer, will the books still get the green label? I have 5-10 books for the next Crain signing that I would like remarked but he has already signed them and I am afraid of not qualifying for yellow label. Thanks in advance for your feedback!
  18. (Any chance we can just get a sticky for this or even start a pinned FAQ for the most asked questions?) The short version: CGC Signature Series | CGC Private Signings | CGC (cgccomics.com) "These labels will generally be issued only to items signed under the direct observation of a CGC representative. In select instances, CGC may accept signed books directly from the signer or publisher." The long version: Signature Series (yellow) label will only be given for books witnessed by authorized CGC reps. The only exception is in the case of creators directly submitting books along with creator forms to CGC. Books previously submitted for signature series can be cracked under the supervision of an authorized CGC rep, signed by another creator, and re-slabbed to maintain a signature series label. Emphasis on "under the supervision of an authorized CGC rep". Any yellow label books cracked without proper supervision will break the chain of witnesses and the original signature will no longer qualify for signature series. Unwitnessed books with a COA do not qualify for a yellow label. Any unwitnessed signed books will be graded as a Qualified (green) label as though the signature was not there. You can also submit for a blue label, but the signature will count as damage and lower the grade of the book. Why is this CGCs policy? Because it's the only way to ensure the authenticity and integrity of the Signature Series program.
  19. Hello. I recently bought a signed TMNT 2011 IDW #95 comic in a Instagram live auction and it is currently with Kevin eastman. I gave his team my customer id# to have it graded and slabbed. Do I need to do anything with cgc to inform that a book is being shipped.or to pay for the signature series grading -slab?
  20. Hello, Hope you all are doing well. Can a remarked book still receive a yellow label (Signature Series) with NO signature? The reason I asked was because on Tyler Kirkham's website, it shows that the book would be signed and remarked.
  21. Hi, all: I've consigned several Romita Sr CGC SIGNATURE SERIES ASM books to Heritage. The auctions end Sunday, Oct 25th. All books are signed by Romita Sr, and some are also signed by others, including Roy Thomas and Gerry Conway. Romita's signature is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain and will now cost you $100 per signature, if you can get it. Roy Thomas and Gerry Conway signatures are $30 each. All books are from my personal collection and NONE have been pressed! Here's a listing and links to all of the Sig Series books I've put on consignment: ASM 54 https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/the-amazing-spider-man-54-signature-series-john-romita-marvel-1967-cgc-vf-80-off-white-pages/a/122043-17033.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 ASM 57 https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/the-amazing-spider-man-57-signature-series-john-romita-marvel-1968-cgc-vf-80-off-white-to-white-pages/a/122043-17035.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 ASM 74 https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/the-amazing-spider-man-74-signature-series-john-romita-marvel-1969-cgc-vf-85-off-white-to-white-pages/a/122043-17041.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 ASM 77 https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/the-amazing-spider-man-77-signature-series-john-romita-marvel-1969-cgc-vf-80-off-white-to-white-pages/a/122043-17042.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 ASM 78 https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/the-amazing-spider-man-78-signature-series-john-romita-marvel-1969-cgc-vf-85-off-white-to-white-pages/a/122043-17043.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 ASM 79 https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/the-amazing-spider-man-79-signature-series-john-romita-marvel-1969-cgc-vf-80-off-white-to-white-pages/a/122043-17044.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 ASM 80 https://comics.ha.com/itm/bronze-age-1970-1979-/the-amazing-spider-man-80-signature-series-john-romita-marvel-1970-cgc-vf-80-white-pages/a/122043-17045.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 ASM 87 https://comics.ha.com/itm/bronze-age-1970-1979-/the-amazing-spider-man-87-signature-series-john-romita-marvel-1970-cgc-vf-80-off-white-to-white-pages/a/122043-17046.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 ASM 91 https://comics.ha.com/itm/bronze-age-1970-1979-/the-amazing-spider-man-91-signature-series-john-romita-marvel-1970-cgc-vf-80-white-pages/a/122043-17047.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 ASM 94 https://comics.ha.com/itm/bronze-age-1970-1979-/the-amazing-spider-man-94-signature-series-john-romita-marvel-1971-cgc-nm-92-off-white-to-white-pages/a/122043-17048.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 ASM 97 https://comics.ha.com/itm/bronze-age-1970-1979-/the-amazing-spider-man-97-signature-series-john-romita-marvel-1971-cgc-fn-65-off-white-to-white-pages/a/122043-17049.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 ASM 123 https://comics.ha.com/itm/bronze-age-1970-1979-/the-amazing-spider-man-123-signature-series-john-romita-marvel-1973-cgc-vf-85-white-pages/a/122043-17050.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 ASM 130 https://comics.ha.com/itm/bronze-age-1970-1979-/the-amazing-spider-man-130-signature-series-john-romita-and-others-marvel-1974-cgc-nm-mt-98-white-pages/a/122043-17051.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 ASM 135 https://comics.ha.com/itm/bronze-age-1970-1979-/the-amazing-spider-man-135-signature-series-john-romita-marvel-1974-cgc-vf-85-off-white-to-white-pages/a/122043-17052.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 ASM 299 https://comics.ha.com/itm/modern-age-1980-present-/the-amazing-spider-man-299-signature-series-todd-mcfarlane-and-others-marvel-1988-cgc-nm-94-white-pages/a/122043-17060.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 ANNUAL 4 https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/the-amazing-spider-man-annual-4-signature-series-john-romita-marvel-1967-cgc-vf-85-off-white-to-white-pages/a/122043-17066.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 ANNUAL 7 https://comics.ha.com/itm/bronze-age-1970-1979-/the-amazing-spider-man-annual-7-signature-series-john-romita-marvel-1970-cgc-nm-92-off-white-to-white-pages/a/122043-17067.s?ic16=ViewItem-BrowseTabs-Auction-Open-SearchResults-120115&lotPosition=64|0
  22. Fellow comic nerds, I've got a ton of books being auctioned on Heritage -- some ending in a few hours, lots for way under market! Keys like Spidey 1, 14, 129; FF 1, 2, 4, 45, 49, 50, Annual 6 -- lots signed by Stan. That's just today. So many more great keys coming in the next few weeks. I had to sell my entire collection for a downpayment on a house -- wife mandated. I had to let go of my "from my cold dead hands" mantra. Happy wife, happy life. 23. I get a few commission sketches from artists that mail them in for me to CGC because of the chain of custody rule. How can I get multiple signatures on a book with the Signature Series form for it to get mailed to CGC? Thank you for your time.
