Hey everyone. I bought a copy of Uncanny X-Men 168 the other day and when I opened it, there looked to be a Chris Claremont signature inside. It was not labeled as such by the store I got it from, so I looked it up to see if it looked authentic. It didn’t look like most of the other signatures I found, but not many I saw looked alike either. I decided to come here and seek as many outside opinions as possible. Here is a picture of it, let me know what you think.

Hello guys & gals! I'm new here, been collecting a few slabs for about a year now, and I have a question. Please forgive me if I placed this in the wrong category. If I need to move it, please let me know. I purchased a slab recently, a CGC SS SDCC exclusive Marvel/Bandai Manga Realization, signed by Stan Lee.....except he signed it Stanley. This was signed literally nine weeks before he passed away, so I feel like his age and condition likely caused him to slip up and do this. My question is, how does this book compare to the countless others he signed Stan Lee, and should I get with CGC and work on getting the label redone to recognize that it was signed Stanley by Stan Lee? They didn't note this on the label. Any help and advice is greatly appreciated!

Just wondering if an artist can send a sketch commission in for the buyer to get a Yellow Label, what about a comic with just his/her signature on it?

Hey All, I’m new to the forum and was wondering if anyone could help me verify a signature. I’m pretty certain one is Stan Lee’s signature, the other I’m not sure about. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay so I ordered this daredevil book online that has Stan Lee’s signature inside the comic on the first page. I know no one can tell me for sure if it’s authentic but I thought I’d could get an idea what everyone thought? Did I buy an authentic Stan lee signature or a fake? Thanks for your input!!

So I have an interesting problem and question for anyone who might have more experience than I do with getting signatures witnessed by CGC. I went to New York Comic Con last month and purchased AMS #797 Third Printing/Comicxposure edition, with cover art by Clayton Crain. I went to Crain's booth with a CGC witness to have the book signed. There was also another CGC witness already manning Crain's booth for signatures. When I was getting the book signed, we all noticed that there was a second interior cover, and I asked if Crain could sign both the outside cover and the interior second cover. He said he yes, and both CGC witnesses watched as he signed both covers. They all told me that the double cover and double signature would likely increase the book's value. Anyway, the CGC witness who accompanied me to the booth signed the witness card and, I'm pretty sure, noted that the artist had signed both covers. I took the book, now enclosed and sealed in the CGC polybag with the witness card, back to the CGC booth to be submitted along with a few other books. I filled out the submission form and handed it to the CGC person to review and have it signed, etc. The CGC person looked everything over, including the witness card, filled out the rest of the submission form and said everything looked good and handed me my copy. A month later, I received the slabbed book back, but instead of a gold label, it had the Signature Qualified Grade gold label with a green stripe! The notes said "Signed by Clayton Crain on 10/6/19" and "Name Written on Interior Cover in Marker"!! I was shocked. When I called CGC for an explanation, they told me that my submission form did not indicate that the book was signed on the interior cover by the artist. I was appalled. I told them that the submission form clearly indicated that the book had been signed by Clayton Crain and that no one - not the two CGC witnesses nor the CGC booth person - mentioned anything to me about having to make a special notation or write anything else on the submission form. All the CGC people who were there had seen exactly what happened with the double cover signatures and said everything about my submission was fine. CGC are supposed to be the professionals and I relied on them to get my book properly signed and witnessed. Shouldn't they be responsible for making sure that this book received the right label? So, do you guys think that this was my mistake and that CGC is right to give me the qualified label, or should they honor their responsibilities and correct their mistake? If I turn in a comic with an autograph on the cover and and a certificate of authenticity, will it still be eligible for the yellow label or will it still be blue? -
GOLDEN AGE GREEN LANTERN ARCHIVES Vol. 1 NM. Signed by MART NODELL creator of Green Lantern & SHELDON "SHELLY" MOLDOFF Green Lantern main cover artist. MART NODELL signed the 1st leaf to me, and SHELLY MOLDOFF signed page 7 reproducing the cover he drew of the very first Green Lantern comic A true one of a kind ultra-rare comic collectable. Signatures of both of the main artists responsible for the original Green Lantern in one item. Scan shows Martin Nodell and me with the actual book that he signed for me that day at the Tampa Comic Con in 2006 shortly before he passed away. At a later Comic Con I brought the book to Shelly Moldoff for his signature. Book was put in a Brodart dust jacket cover and placed on my bookshelf Starting bid $249. Ends Sunday night 7/6. Also have many comics on eBay: high grade Marvel Silver Age CGC books, and raw Marvel and DC Silver Age mid-grade to high grade books: Amazing Spider-man Ditko, Journey Into Mystery, Thor Kirby. Hello folks, My first time on this forum. I registered to join the party, and in hopes of educating myself through other's knowledge and experience. So, about 5 years ago, I purchased a copy of Avenging Spiderman #9. The book came with an unknown signature. The seller did not know as well. I kept it because it costed me 10$. However, I still have 0 clue who autographed this book. Can you guys help me identify the artist's autograph behind this? I attached a photo for clarity. Appreciate it!

untilWizard World Sacramento 2018 is coming October 5-7th, this is a great event for everyone who loves anything that has to do with comics, art, and anything else that falls in that category. Its going to be at Cal Expo CAL EXPO 1600 Exposition Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95815 Im not sure if CGC is going to be at his event but if anyone can do witnessing it would be nice because Mike Colter the actor who portrays Luke Cage on the Netflix show is going to be one of the main guest so bring your luke cage comics to get signed.

I’m planing on dropping a book off for the signature series after getting it sketched on. Do I not have to pay for handling fees since I’m dropping it off with a representative at a con, or will I still have to pay?

Hey all, I have been looking on the board for a topic dedicated to fan mail from comic creators, and was surprised to not have found one! I know Fanmailbiz has a forum for it but I know many more people use the CGC boards compared to that. So I decided to create this topic so we can all share our fan mail successes, and also our unsuccessful letters, and help each other add something personal to our collections from a favorite artist or writer. In my opinion, sending letters to creators is one of the funnest ways of obtaining a hand written response, signature, or sketch, it's such a rewarding feeling getting a personal response back from various creators, although the wait can be long, it is worth it in the end. I'll start off by showing some of my favorite successes from comic creators I've gotten over the years, Success from John Romita Sr. after I sent a letter to him in 2016, he was kind enough to sign and sketch this print, and included a nice note! about a 3 month turnaround. Fan mail success from joltin' Joe Sinnott last year! Huge thanks goes out to Joe and his son Mark for making this happen, always wanted a Thing sketch from Sinnott. Fan mail success from Adam Kubert! Sent Adam a letter saying how much I was enjoying his run on PPSM, and he was kind enough to include this sketch with his response, which I was very thankful for. Randy Emberlin success in 2017, included this great Venom sketch. I have also received responses from Steve Ditko, Peter Laird, Chris Pratt, and others! Looking forward to seeing some of your fan mail successes! Hope we can all help each other out in adding legendary comic creators.

I am looking to get several comics signed at an upcoming local convention. Fortunately, CGC and the convention both claim a CGC Witness will be present. I have seen many forum posts about how to get your SS slab but they all were for when there would be a CGC booth at the convention. My Questions: When I arrive at Con, what should I do to get my comics signed in the presence of a witness? What will happen next? Do I need to be a CGC member? (since there is no CGC Booth offering their on-site services) Thanks for any/all help! (I want to get Ultimate Spider-man #1,#3,#5,#100, Spec#1; Ultimate Fallout #1, #4;and ASM #361 all signed by Mark Bagley; and Michael Golden to sign Ultimate Spider-man Spec#1) => Not looking to resale, just for personal collection. Is there a way to get your books signed and graded CGC SS if you are not attending a convention? I have seen people answer yes, but never explain how. Like, I live in San Diego, but I couldn't get tickets to comic-con (for example). Is there a way to get them signed with SS without actually attending the convention? And if so, how? Thanks!

I'm looking into getting a sketch and signature from an artist at an upcoming Convention, but I need to send him the book beforehand so he can start the sketch. What do I need to do to make sure that CGC will still take it and verify it at the Con?
