Hi everyone! It’s been quite awhile since I ran a sales thread here. My desire would have been to start with some interesting comics material from the WW2 period (including late 1930s and immediate post-war years), mostly non-USA, but this has proven a bit difficult to get sorted, so while I prepare it, I considered selling the few duplicated Marvel SA-BA books that I have left. I will offer the books in small batches. I will invoice regularly at the end of each batch, and very likely most of the already posted will be deleted and moved elsewhere. I will also probably add more books in the following weeks, non-Marvel and some 1950s books, but not a huge amount of material. As a general rule, I always try to price fairly but I will not offer discounts. Of course I will combine shipping costs and try to have the less expensive options from Italy. You can find my kudos thread here. I try to grade books accurately but I’m no professional grader – mostly the grade listed is the grade I’d be satisfied with if I was the buyer. IMPORTANT: I am based in Italy. Postage costs are pretty high, so check the table below. Rules: The first (icon or text) in thread wins. You can purchase by PM but at your own risk – I will go by time stamp. Payment methods accepted: Paypal, TransferWise. In case I already know you, International Bank transfers are fine. Please no people on the HoS or Probation list. Shipping rates: I ship from Italy. Rates indicatively as follows (Zone 1 is Europe and UK, Zone 2 is Americas, Asia and Africa, and Zone 3 Oceania). Airmail does not have a tracking number, so for more expensive purchases I will use only Registered, and I recommend it anyways. For total amounts of over $300 I will ship to USA through registered courrier for a flat fee of $39. This will be good up to 2kg (approx 4,4 lbs.) The Fourteenth California Comic Convention ( CalComicCon ) will be held on Sunday, January 26th 2020. The show will be held in Orange County in Costa Mesa, held just miles from Disneyland and other attractions. We will continue to have a raffle that will have CGC graded comics, original artwork and sketches by guest artists. This year our show will be at the Westin South Coast plaza and we will have a Saturday Comic Swap and artist reception on Saturday the 25th. Advance purchases will get three tickets, with a chance at a special online ticket holder only raffle. CGC will again be taking comic submissions and doing signature witnessing. Vancouver (BC) Comic and Toy Show returns Sunday October 24, 2021 to the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) at Hastings and Renfrew Streets at FULL capacity. Family fun at a comic book centric show (golden age to modern comics, mags, graphic novels, some artwork) plus toys, action figures, Funko Pop and cosplay too. Giant-size hourly door prizes of 3 x $100 gift cards and 3 x $50 gift cards plus more (Toy Traders warehouse bucks) to be handed out. 200 8 foot dealer's tables already sold. Non-wall vendor's tables at $90 each (plus GST) being wait-listed. Adult admission $14. Tickets sold online via the PNE weblink. Extra marketing being done via PNE event contacts list. The stock market has been absolutely insane for the last 2 years. I guess you take away consumer protections, and its like the training wheels have been taken away: business is just more profitable. I'm in this hobby for the love of it, as is everyone here. But I don't want to lose money, and it just seems crazy to sell stock to buy books. So . . . is now the best time or the worst time to invest in comics? -
This is my first submission here (I'm a little nervous). It's a Silver Age Fantastic Four 61 with Kirby drawn Sandman. The book appears to have been pressed before I purchased it several years back. My low end estimate is My high end estimate is Clean copy. Edges look very nice for a Silver book. Tiny wave near the spine causing some reflectivity (not wear) back at the camera. Minor top edge stress Tight spine without any noticeable color breaking stress lines A flat back, but whose color is no longer white Many thanks for looking!

Hello, I'm new on this forum but I'm a long-time collector of (primarily) Spider-man and X-men comics since the '90s. I have an extensive collection of bronze and copper age comics of these series' but only more recently have my interests started to seriously turn towards the Silver Age so I'm trying to learn as much about it as I can. I of course have been doing and plan on continuing to do my own research on this era of comics but I was curious what people's thoughts here are on collecting low-grade copies and possibly even low grade purple label copies of things like AF 15, ASM 1, or X-Men 1 which to me (and I know for many others) are kind of "grail" comics to own in most any condition. Just looking at eBay prices and sold listings there is quite a bit of data for blue labels in all sorts of varying grades but I feel a bit confused when considering purple labels and how they're priced. I understand this varies greatly on what kind of restoration was done and how much, but just as an example, I see in sold listings for restored a- 7.0 Purple label Amazing Spider-man #1 with "Moderate B-3. color touch, pieces added, tear seals, cleaned, reinforced, re-glossed, top-edge of cover trimmed" which sold for just about $10,000. A restored 5.0 with "Slight B-1. Small amount of color touch on cover, tear seals to cover and interior" sold for $9,000 And a restored 3.0 "Moderate C-3. colour touch, pieces added." sold for $6,000 which is the very lowest I can find in sold before getting into 0.5s with missing covers or pages and such. Just to contrast, I see a 1.5 blue label with it's front cover re-attached with tape that sold for nearly $7,000, a 4.0 blue label with no noted problems went for $14,000 and a 7.0 blue label with no noted problems went for $30,000. and just because I thought it interesting, a 1.8 blue label is currently at auction for $4,000 with 4 days left. I suppose I'm trying to understand what the price correlation is for these megakeys between restored and unrestored are, and whether certain restoration notes are more acceptable than others. How much *should* one spend on a low-grade purple label vs a low-grade blue label? Like that 3.0 which went for 6k. Is that a decent price for such a copy? Would that then mean it's comparable to say, a 1.0 blue label? And as far as I'm able to tell, would it be correct to say that 6-7k seems to be the floor right now for a complete ASM #1? Also, I'm a little surprised that 7.0 was graded a 7.0 with trimming as I would imagine that's far more destructive to the book than most anything else, or am I wrong? There does seem to be extensive restoration work on that book. I would imagine that the least amount of restoration would be better but perhaps the prices don't reflect that? I personally am not bothered with purple labels for the most part when it comes to these sort of megakeys and for some of them, like AF 15, they might be the only real viable entry point to owning a copy for myself and others just now venturing into the Silver Age world. I would appreciate any sort of help, clarification, advice, or even just commentary and opinions on this topic. It's been really fascinating to read and learn about all that goes into grading these highly sought-after comics. I hope to acquire at least one of these megakeys in the near-future and I'm just trying to learn as much as I can and be as informed as I can. Thanks. -

Here's the deal, I wanted to create the kind of show I would want to attend. GREAT COMICS, GREAT ART & ARTISTS! I want to enter a room filled with amazing comics, incredible art and talented artists, I don't think that's too much to ask. Seems like every show I attend only has a small amount of comic vendors (usually the same 3 or 4 people I see at every show), the rest of the floor is fidget spinners, Cosplay stopping in front of your booth for photo shoots, sweaty ROOT BEER mugs everywhere dripping on your comics or art, Pirates running around, knick knack patty whacks, energy drinks, Ice Cream vendors and flea market fodder........ Since I have to face some immediate expenses, I have decided to ran a few sales offering both books from my collection and material that I’ve been intentioned to sell for some time. For the aforementioned reason (and also for the current unfavorable exchange rate USD-EUR) as a general rule I will not offer discounts. I try to grade books accurately but I’m no professional grader – mostly the grade listed is the grade I’d be satisfied with if I was the buyer. IMPORTANT: I am based in Italy.
