I’m curious about poster values. Unfortunately these are too big to be graded by CGC and I’m not sure they do comic posters. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks! Spawn and Wildcats are pretty self explanatory, but I also have tour posters for Tool and Alice in Chain . The Alice In Chains was a display poster in a store. It was not for sale. I got it from a music store in Tacoma. The Tool poster I ordered online so I don’t know its origin.

Hi everyone, Usually, whether buying or selling, I'm over in Gold/Silver/Bronze playing with raw books. But I bought a collection today that had chunk of slabs in it, and an interesting mix at that. I'll share some here, and there's probably some for G/S/B down the road as well. (Lots of raw that is mostly for that section as well.) Happy to answer any questions I can; the seller told me the books belonged to a friend of his who passed away and the widow wanted them gone so he was selling them for her. He must have just slabbed by eye as there's no other rhyme or reason to what he picked to slab, but there's a few big misses (his early efforts I guess) then many 9.6 and 9.8 copper modern, and many 9.6 and 9.4 bronze. I have no idea if he had any of these pressed, but the raw collection indicates much more of a reader than investor mindset. Looks like slabbing pretty books was a recent passion of his. I'll get a few up to start as its late tonight, but there will be more. There's Universals and sig series, and a few Qualifieds that are all signed books that I guess were not CGC witnessed. Many of them have various COA's enclosed in their slab bag. Some of the raw stuff is signed too; clearly an autograph guy as well. Here's a preview; Rules in next post, then we're off!

I'm sending books in for the Todd McFarlane signing also and went along with setting up a free account. The private signing form that I printed was quite long. If I upgrade to a Premium Membership, am I able to submit my books online for the McFarlane signing as opposed to printing out the bulky paper form? I'm sending books for both custom labels along with the standard CGC SS labels and hate to print the 7-9 page form twice for each invoice. Thanks! -

As many of you know, Todd McFarlane has very strict rules about getting books signed and graded by CGC. He only does two CGC signings a year, once in the late spring/summer and once in the early winter. The exact dates of these signings are not announced until we get much closer to the signing date due to Todd's hectic schedule. So we simply announce accepting books early and will accept books up to the point when the signing is two weeks away, so submit early so you don't get caught by surprise and miss the signings. The price to get a modern tier book signed and graded is $95.00. That price includes grading of a modern tier book, our witnessing and handling fee and Todd's signing fee. It does NOT include return shipping or the CGC $5.00 form fee. Please refer to the Celestial-comics.com website for other costs such as shipping and fast track fees. You must fill out a Celestial-Comics submission form found on our website to submit with any books submitted. There is NO limitations to the number of books submitted. Books for these signings can get additional signatures on them depending on shows and other private signings that take place. Please contact Desert Wind regarding getting additional signatures on the book prior to Todd signing. We look forward to helping customers to get their books signed by Todd. I just bought a 9.2 cgc graded red label comic. The case has a crack on the front but so I figured I would send it in and get it re slabbed. i’ve done a bit of research and have read that some people believe the grading process back then was much tighter and that re grading a red label now might yield a higher grade by today’s standards. Would you play it safe and just get it re slabbed and keep the 9.2 or roll the dice and get a new grade. Thanks

The majority of these issues are original owner, and as of this posting I am only missing one issue (#150) from being completely current. I will reserve Sundays for posting a Spawn spinoff or one-shot at my discretion.

Hello CGC, and anyone else who peruses this thread! I'm creating this thread because the label update thread hasn't had a CGC response since 2015, and the changes I'm requesting are quite wide, a simple note within the books when being submitted wouldn't fix this problem for years. This has been on my mind for quite awhile now, and I finally realized that hopefully you guys can fix this. There are many things I collect, but two of the main things are Spawn and Blue Beetle. We all know that most of the early Spawn books were heavily overprinted for the direct market, what most people don't know is that they also printed books for the Newsstand, only ONE percent of what was printed for Direct. This means on a book such as #1, where there was around 1 million printed, there are only around 10,000 Newsstands. Now I know for #1 CGC has started to recognize the difference, however this difference is not only limited to number 1. Newsstands were printed from issue 1 through 112, and then 117-137. The Newsstand counterpart only becomes more rare as the print run decreases, combined with the fact that companies printed less and less newsstands as time went on. For example, Comichron indicates that for issue 137 (the final newsstand) there were 34,735 Direct units, this would mean that there were only around 3400 Newsstands printed IF Image was still printing Newsstands at 1% which they most likely were not. The whole point of this is that the CGC census is incorrectly displaying data unless you separate the two, for a book such as Spawn #98, there is only 9 on the census, so only one of them may be newsstand. That makes a huge difference, and would greatly help collectors like myself if we knew how many newsstands were actually on the census. With all that said, here are the specific label updates I am proposing in the event that a Spawn comic has a UPC, I will start with Spawn 2, even though you may already be labeling those. Spawn #2-63, 65-100, 106-112, 117-137 - Label: Newsstand Edition There are two different UPC editions for the following books, one with a sticker, and one without - Spawn #64 (only book with the UPC on the back, the sticker version has the barcode on the front) #101-105 - Label for those with a sticker: Sticker UPC Newsstand Edition; Label for those without a sticker: Newsstand Edition This means that the books on the first line should have two different designators on the CGC census (Direct and Newsstand Edition) and the books on the second line should have three different designators on the CGC census (Direct, Newsstand Edition, and Sticker UPC Newsstand Edition) The market needs to see these updates from CGC, it will help establish a true rarity of these books over the years. We, as collectors, know that they are very rare but it isn't being quantified. Please consider updating the early limited series' for Spawn as well, the complete info on which books have Newsstand can be found at the SpawnWorld link below. I also hyperlinked an article from 2015 that goes into more detail about the Newsstand differential and has info from Chuck from Mile High Comics. Lastly, I hyperlinked the Monthly Sales page for August 2004 to show the assessed order of Spawn #137 which supports my statistics above.
