About Me

  1. ASM #252 CGC 9.8 For Sale! Who can buy? No selling to those on the probation list. Payment: PayPal, wire or check. Returns: No returns on CGC books. Shipping: Free Priority Mail shipping within the U.S. Shipping to Canada $20. Winning: First unconditional “Take” in the thread gets it. Time stamp rules if multiple “Takes”. A “Take” in the thread trumps any PM negotiations until the post has been updated as “Taken”. Amazing Spider-Man #252 (CGC 9.8 with off-white to white pages) $1600: 1st appearance of the black costume (Symbiote becomes Venom). Published two weeks before Marvel Team-Up #141. Amazing Fantasy #15 cover swipe. Pretty cover by Ron Frenz and Klaus Janson. Roger Stern and Tom DeFalco story. May 1984. I bought this encapsulated over 8 years ago; bought a raw over 30 years ago that I’m keeping for now.
  2. I consigned a bunch of items in 2019 with classic auctions, looks like the last bunch are being auctioned soon including some early spidermans #15 + up They aren't known for comic books so I expect this lot to slip under the radar and someone will get a great deal Here's the link http://www.classicauctions.net/1930s_1940s_big_little_books__10__and_super_heros_-lot159239.aspx Over 30 horror, marvel, DC books
  3. Vancouver (BC) Comic and Toy Show returns Sunday October 24, 2021 to the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) at Hastings and Renfrew Streets at FULL capacity. Family fun at a comic book centric show (golden age to modern comics, mags, graphic novels, some artwork) plus toys, action figures, Funko Pop and cosplay too. Giant-size hourly door prizes of 3 x $100 gift cards and 3 x $50 gift cards plus more (Toy Traders warehouse bucks) to be handed out. 200 8 foot dealer's tables already sold. Non-wall vendor's tables at $90 each (plus GST) being wait-listed. Adult admission $14. Tickets sold online via the PNE weblink. Extra marketing being done via PNE event contacts list. Masks are mandatory. All attendees and vendors over age 12 should have their second COVID-19 vaccine shot plus at least 10 days by Oct. 24 per BC Health guidelines that start that Sunday for indoor public trade shows. 4. Hello, I have a few things I'd like to offer for sale, including some CGC slabs and raw Spider-Man books. I've sold here a few times before. I accept returns but I don't pay return shipping. I request payment within 2-3 days of the invoice sending, and I accept Paypal. I don't accept GooseMo, BiteCoin, loose change, or best wishes. All my slabs are $15 dollars shipped via USPS priority flat rate box. I could maybe fit 2 in a box but will need extra room for any more extravagant spending, so we'll have to work out shipping at cost (weight). 1 to 4 raw books (regular books, not fat ones) are a measly 9 dollars in a luxurious Gemini Shipper, and additional books are shipped at cost (weight). Shipping is to the USA. Shipping to Canada is by weight. I'm sure we can work out shipping. Here is my kudos thread with an amazing amount of feedback from all my buyers.
  5. Hello, this is my next comic book sale, featuring some CGC slabs and raw books I'd like to sell off to another prized owner. All of these books have been stored for many moons in a dark, dry basement in what's called a comic book long box. I realized that I have more boxes than I originally thought. I've sold here a few times before, and I've heard buyers say my sales are "good", "nice", and "okay." I will try to strive for the same level of excellence for this sale. I accept returns and complaints but I don't pay return shipping. I request payment within 2-3 days of the invoice sending, and I accept Paypal. I don't accept GooseMo, BiteCoin, loose change, or best wishes. All my slabs are $15.50 dollars shipped via the trustworthy USPS. I could probably fit 2 in a box but will need extra room for any more extravagant spending, so we'll have to work out shipping at cost (weight). Please realize that I am here to help you buy books and cart home deals, so do not be afraid to send offers. I will happily answer you as soon as possible and I will try not to shatter your dreams. Thanks. BTW, every single book or set comes with a free story.

  7. I have a copy of "The Amazing Spider-Man" issue 365. It has now flaws anywhere except for inside the book where it has printing gripping holes on several pages. Does CGC deduct for this, and if so how much? I'm new to all of this and don't want to submit it if they'll only give me an 8 or 8.5. Thanks
  8. Ok I found this comic book in some old stuff of my moms and was wondering who signed this. Anyone know about this comic book or can tell who signed it?
  9. Hey again all, time to sell more comics for a friend - this time to help him raise money to repair the air conditioner in his car - THESE DEALS WILL BE HOT SO HE AND HIS KIDS WON'T BE I previously sold many of his keys here, so if you remember those deals you should expect more of the same good stuff. He lives out of province from me so while I wasn't able to inspect the issues personally I've had him take lots of pictures of each issue so that it will be very easy for you all to see the conditions - there are pretty much low to mid grade raw books and will price them so they are affordable and account for anything we might have missed. All issues are complete, and unless otherwise obvious from pics covers and wraps are all firmly attached to the staples - basically the only faults with these issues will be shown in the photos. If you require additional photos for a book just PM me, as I have not posted all the images (spine details, corners) as I feel these shots will give you enough information to make a judgement call. Please no hall of shamers or probies. We will ship anywhere in North America, and I only accept Pay Pal (though will consider e-transfer for fellow Canadians). All prices are in USD. $9 shipping within Canada, and $12.00 for shipping to the USA, extra issues beyond the first we'll ship free. First timestamped gets it.
  10. Good Evening Everyone, I just received my book back from CGC. Came back as a 9.8. Signed and Remarked by Tyler. One signature by Tyler is in Manuscript and the other signature is incursive. Did he sign it twice because of the incursive signature not being seen? Either way it goes, I love it!
  11. What would you have bought if you could have come up with a lofty $20 for mail order with Robert Bell in 1971? No doubles on your list, as that would not be realistic for a collector. Excelsior! My picks: X-men 1 gd $7 ASM 14 $ 1.50 JIM 85 (Loki) $3 Avengers 4 $3.50 FF # 48, 49 2 x 50c Silver Surfer #1, 4 2 x $2. What are your mail order alternate choices? Mine: Daredevil 1 $9, Iron Man #1 $1.50, some polybags as 2 sizes available: Marvel or golden age size.
  12. THE RULES: All CGC books mailed USPS priority mail flat rate; shipping on raw books at cost via USPS I will ship to Canada, but be aware that between 1-3 raw books will cost $28, and a larger number of raw books or CGC books will cost $50 per priority mail box used. trumps any PM request. Paypal preferred, but check or money order is also accepted. Checks must clear the bank before books are shipped. Payments via PayPal must be received within 72 hours after invoicing, unless otherwise agreed to by me. Returns on CGC graded books not accepted. Returns on raws accepted within 14 days of the sale date. Items must be return shipped in the same condition prior to refund. No HOS or Probies
  13. I'm broadening my market to sell here at CGC's Chat Boards, MySlabs and HipComic, beyond just eBay where I started. Many, maybe even most, of my slabs for sale are at break-even prices. All prices are in U.S. dollars. Links: Slabs: https://www.ebay.com/str/Caravan-Comics-and-More?_bkw=cgc and https://www.hipcomic.com/store/caravan-comics-and-more?show=store&keywords=CGC and https://myslabs.to/woznia17 All items: https://www.ebay.com/str/Caravan-Comics-and-More and https://www.hipcomic.com/store/caravan-comics-and-more I am gradually adding my items to MySlabs, too. As I do so and as time allows, I will endeavor to do the math to try to lower prices accordingly to save you money. The link is https://myslabs.com/slab/my/my-slabs/for-sale/#. To claim on CGC for a CGC price: 1st private message via CGC (PM) by time stamp wins. I will PM or PayPal invoice you the total (Item + Shipping + Insurance + Signature Confirmation). To pay: PayPal only, to be arranged by PM. Payment must be received before items ship. Turnaround: Two business days, unless I'm traveling away from my stock. Then, two business days upon my return. Once an item is shipped, I will share the tracking number by PM. I want your items to arrive nicely and if for some reason they don't, I want you to get your money back without my having lost it, too, because of some Act of God for which I couldn't mitigate the unforeseen risk. Problems: Should any problems arise, I will troubleshoot those with you. Please keep it to PMs as I will do all in my power and according to these rules as I can to resolve issues. USPS Shipping, Insurance and Signature Confirmation* is additional: Total shipping cost will depend on the number purchased and value of the items. 1-2 CGCs = $15 shipping + insurance + $3.20 3-4 CGCs = $25 shipping + insurance + $3.20 5-6 CGCs = $35 shipping + insurance + $3.20 And so on. For articles insured for more than $500. Feedback: I appreciate, if at all possible, that once a transaction and delivery is successful, you let me know by PM and/or give me a thumbs up or other good nod somewhere in this thread. I'll start a second post here to summarize sales and successes. It helps me with credibility on the Chat Boards and helps you reflect that you're a paying customer. *Stolen packages: I use Signature Confirmation as a deterrent against stolen packages. It is not my responsibility, once USPS Tracking shows "Delivered," if your package was stolen - the mail carrier should be having someone at your address sign for it. The only thing I can do from where I sit is provide Signature Confirmation and hope you'll be the one to sign for it. It is incumbent upon you to watch for when your package will arrive, and I strongly encourage you to sign up for Delivery Tracking alerts by SMS and/or email via USPS.com. I've had packages delivered to me stolen, too, and I've had packages I've sold stolen, too. This is my remedy. **Final insurance rates are those at https://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/Notice123.htm#_c191 at time of payment (not sale). USPS insurance rates are subject to change. No returns nor refunds. Ask for photos if you're not sure about/want to see more detail on an item.
  14. Hello, I'm new on this forum but I'm a long-time collector of (primarily) Spider-man and X-men comics since the '90s. I have an extensive collection of bronze and copper age comics of these series' but only more recently have my interests started to seriously turn towards the Silver Age so I'm trying to learn as much about it as I can. I of course have been doing and plan on continuing to do my own research on this era of comics but I was curious what people's thoughts here are on collecting low-grade copies and possibly even low grade purple label copies of things like AF 15, ASM 1, or X-Men 1 which to me (and I know for many others) are kind of "grail" comics to own in most any condition. Just looking at eBay prices and sold listings there is quite a bit of data for blue labels in all sorts of varying grades but I feel a bit confused when considering purple labels and how they're priced. I understand this varies greatly on what kind of restoration was done and how much, but just as an example, I see in sold listings for restored a- 7.0 Purple label Amazing Spider-man #1 with "Moderate B-3. color touch, pieces added, tear seals, cleaned, reinforced, re-glossed, top-edge of cover trimmed" which sold for just about $10,000. A restored 5.0 with "Slight B-1. Small amount of color touch on cover, tear seals to cover and interior" sold for $9,000 And a restored 3.0 "Moderate C-3. colour touch, pieces added." sold for $6,000 which is the very lowest I can find in sold before getting into 0.5s with missing covers or pages and such. Just to contrast, I see a 1.5 blue label with it's front cover re-attached with tape that sold for nearly $7,000, a 4.0 blue label with no noted problems went for $14,000 and a 7.0 blue label with no noted problems went for $30,000. and just because I thought it interesting, a 1.8 blue label is currently at auction for $4,000 with 4 days left. I suppose I'm trying to understand what the price correlation is for these megakeys between restored and unrestored are, and whether certain restoration notes are more acceptable than others. How much *should* one spend on a low-grade purple label vs a low-grade blue label? Like that 3.0 which went for 6k. Is that a decent price for such a copy? Would that then mean it's comparable to say, a 1.0 blue label? And as far as I'm able to tell, would it be correct to say that 6-7k seems to be the floor right now for a complete ASM #1? Also, I'm a little surprised that 7.0 was graded a 7.0 with trimming as I would imagine that's far more destructive to the book than most anything else, or am I wrong? There does seem to be extensive restoration work on that book. I would imagine that the least amount of restoration would be better but perhaps the prices don't reflect that? I personally am not bothered with purple labels for the most part when it comes to these sort of megakeys and for some of them, like AF 15, they might be the only real viable entry point to owning a copy for myself and others just now venturing into the Silver Age world. I would appreciate any sort of help, clarification, advice, or even just commentary and opinions on this topic. It's been really fascinating to read and learn about all that goes into grading these highly sought-after comics. I hope to acquire at least one of these megakeys in the near-future and I'm just trying to learn as much as I can and be as informed as I can. Thanks.
  15. Hi - I'm joining the enlightened folks who sell their CGC comics here rather than eBay, despite the more limited readership. I have to raise my prices too much there or lose money, and their new system of categorization is frustrating, as is their endless tinkering that makes me update "policies" just to select shipping prices appropriate to the item. No more! Because of that, I'll be listing my CGCs here. I will endeavor to provide photos (allow me a couple days to list them here and take them down from eBay). The hardcovers, trades and other stuff is over there still (am I allowed to say you can message me here about those to make a deal?). But most of my CGCs...here! And because they're here, that means, at a minimum, the price is decreased compared to how I priced them on eBay by as little as 10%, give or take, but often 12% or more. I'd like to see long box after long box disappear from my place over the next year before I head overseas again, but hopefully before then. I'll post comics as I receive them and set the asking price. These prices are in U.S. dollars and are the minimum price - please don't ask me to go below that amount as I'm already keeping most at cost just to keep stock flowing out of my home. Over time, I'll work to additionally sell to and ship to Canada - another price (due to international transaction fees) will be given and shipping costs will differ. To claim: 1st private message via CGC (PM) by time stamp wins. To pay: PayPal only, to be arranged by PM. Shipping: I use USPS Priority Mail and signature confirmation, and the total shipping cost will depend on the number purchased and value of the items. Shipping is in addition to asking price - if I sell one for $100, the total is $118 plus insurance If I sell one for $300, total is $323 plus insurance. Breakdown: Shipping: 1 CGC = $18 2 CGC = $18 3 CGC = $22 4 CGC = $22 And so on. Items will be insured at the buyer's expense - please refer to USPS' Priority Mail insurance rates for purchases totaling $50.01 or more (including shipping) - https://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/Notice123.htm#_c191. USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate shipping includes insurance for goods up to $50. Once an item is shipped, I will share the tracking number by PM. I want your items to arrive nicely and if for some reason they don't, I want you to get your money back without my having lost it, too, because of some Act of God for which I couldn't mitigate the unforeseen risk. Turnaround: Two business days, unless I'm traveling away from my stock. Then, two business days upon my return. Problems: Should any problems arise, I will troubleshoot those with you. No returns nor refunds.

  21. Amazing Spider-Man 361 CGC 9.8 - White Pages On Ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-Man-361-CGC-9-8-White-Pages/284225441253?
  22. Evening all. Two books available. Items for sale Amazing Spider-Man #252, newsstand, CGC 9.6 with White pages. First appearance of the black costume. (Not sure what new labels say.) Old label 9.6. I purchased this on eBay years ago and submitted it shortly thereafter. Never been pressed so if you're into that, there could be upside with this book. A little sticker residue on the case as you can see in the pictures. Fugitoid #1, CGC 9.4 with off-white to white pages. Wraparound cover. Old label (not as old as the ASM) and a larger/deeper case. Purchased this off the boards, got it pressed and sent to CGC. A little scratching around the top front of the case and the book jiggles a bit. For some reason I think these bigger cases aren't that great. Price ASM #252 - Asking $650. Last GPA was $625, 90 day average $430. There are 4 9.6's Newsstands on the 'Bay for between $900 and $1000. Fugitoid #1 - Asking $200. Last GPA was $220, 90 day average $176. There are a couple on the 'Bay for $220 and $240 respectively. Shipping: Shipping is not included in the price. Shipping cost will depend on your location but I will ship anywhere via USPS. Happy to work with you on a shipping method that makes sense based on where you are and what you want to spend. Payment: Preferred method is Zelle, Venmo or PayPal. Payment due within 5 business days or I reserve the right to cancel. References: I sold a Wings 89 a few weeks ago and that seemed to go pretty well but I haven't sold on the boards before that for many years. That said, I've certainly bought plenty over the last year since COVID started. I may have a kudos thread buried somewhere but haven't ever looked for/at it. I've sold on eBay as well but it's also been years since I've sold anything there but, for what it's worth, zero negative feedback there (susanville43). Returns: No returns - happy to provide you with any picture you'd like. Take: I am willing to entertain offers but the first in the thread always wins. If we come to agreement in a PM, the take needs to be posted in the thread to complete the transaction - if nobody enters a take at my asking price before you post your take, it's yours. No Hall of Shamers or Probies.

This seems to be primarily a traveling Marvel original art and movie props exhibit that originated at Museum of Pop Culture, Seattle, WA (search for previous pics) and now in Chicago, IL running to the end of Oct, 2021. $18 general admission but daytime entry selling out due to Marvel popularity, social distancing. Thus, they have added evening admission. Highly recommended, as prime original published comic book cover art, splashes, and props generously loaned by the biggest USA collectors and comic dealers. Decades covered: 1939 to 2019 Marvel Cinematic Universe. Recommended for families too. More info: Superb Marvel Comic Art in Chicago Museum
