Hi guys, I wanted to share with you my first commission (of sorts) story: The fantastic artist Derec Donovan (who for years went by the pen and brush name 'Derek Aucoin'), posted some cool examples of his commission work on a FB post, on which I've commented; Since I owned a Superman vs Doomsday published page he'd drawn back in 1996, I asked him whether he'd tackled the character ever since. He couldn't recall when exactly was the last time he drew Doomsday (thought he'd just done a few panels with him). I didn't want to bother him all too much, so out of curiosity (nerdism) I started looking up my old issues of his run on ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN in search for another Doomsday, but came up with nothing. Lo and behold - the next day, I got a message from Derec with this incredible all-new piece he'd just finished drawing ! Of course I've had to have it ! I never thought I'd dip my toes in the commissioning pool, but this wonderful experience made me finally understand the excitement and joy of this side of the hobby. Tonight I will be listing about 20 Raw, Rare or in some cases, Scarce Action Comics. All are raw, I've owned them for at least 15 years, maybe more. I have a smoke free home. At one time I was trying to fill in all the Action , Adventure, Batman, Superman etc comics from 100 and up. A lot of these books were hard to find, still are, so all I found were low grades and after a while, I just gave up. I'm basing the prices on what I see closed on eBay. Most of the bins are less than what I paid for them, so I'm not going to do discounts (although I will consider reasonable offers, esp. for more than 1 book), I'll just list the leftovers on eBay and keep my fingers crossed;) I wanted to offer them here first:) This thread will stay open until Sunday night at 8 pm. Since these are all raw books, I'm pricing by looking at completed prices on eBay, then I deduct what fees would cost me and a little more. I accept Paypal, checks or Money orders. First here or in a pm wins, by time stamp. If I can't determine the time stamp, the board take it wins. I will send invoices at the end, once you get the invoice, payment is due within 3 days unless we have discussed other arrangements. If you need time payments, it's not a problem, but please PM me before taking anything. Prices are going to be low on these books (at least I think they are low) All the books are raw, A few notes. None to the best of my knowledge,have been pressed or cleaned. I count the pages on every book. I look at the centerfolds to make sure they are attached, if they aren't, I note it. I look for missing coupons, and I grade the way I'd like someone else to grade for something I'm buying, but anyone can miss something or make a mistake. So...If I left anything out, just ask. I take returns on anything. If you aren't happy for any reason, plmk within 3 days of receipt. If I ask you to return the book, then I expect the return within 7 days, packed the same way I sent it. If you just changed your mind, shipping is on you. If I made a mistake, return shipping is on me. Shipping, I will charge exact shipping, but I will discount if you buy a certain amount. Spend $100 and get $5.00 off shipping, $200 and get $10 off shipping, if you spend $300 or more, I'll ship for free in the US, ( in Canada I'll split shipping with you if you spend more than $300). If you live anywhere else, just pm me for shipping estimates before you buy anything. For the USA, I use regional boxes whenever it lowers the shipping price. I don't charge for handling. All books are bagged and boarded, most are going to be in new bags and boards. Most are in Mylite 2's and hardbacks, although I've had to combine because I try to replace all bags and boards and I'm running out;). I can ship 2 regular (1 Giant) books in a cardboard mailer for about $3.50 3-5 books in a flat rate envelope with very strong boards (one will have a wood veneer) for $6.50 12 books in a regional box A for about $8 east coast, $11 West coast. (if it's less I charge the exact amount.) A regional box B is slightly higher but holds at least 20 books. I do not ship comics media mail, because the Post Office states they can not be shipped media (it's in their regulations) and I don't want to be responsible if there is a problem. Tracking is included and so is insurance (I pay for private insurance.). If you buy more than $200 worth of books, signature required is a must, but I pay for that in the US, in Canada, those packages must go priority. I can ship first class to Canada, but its not cheap. Max is 4lbs. I'm going to add a lot of freebies on the thread. I also add some kind of free gift to each order. I forgot, none of these books have been pressed (to the best of my knowledge, although it might help a few. I also have a smoke free home. -
i just got a a few sets of comics: one usps damaged death of superman and one near mint batman and robin new 52 batman black and white 90's superman reborn and others i have had for years was wondering the best way to store them. i was thinking clam shell or bagged with clear head boards. then once i get my solution i need to find the best pricing and place to buy them ... the pics are just to show how bad my one set of death of supperman came

Hey All! We're going to do a week before the Superbowl Sales Thread starting today and likely running all week. We'll do recaps every FIVE pages or so because we have a pretty huge pile of books to get through. Some good stuff, some mediocre stuff but there will be a LOT of books in the $1-$5 range as well as some nice Silver and Bronze books and maybe even a Golden Age book or two. We will be mixing in some vintage and newish toys and collectibles to keep it interesting and mostly-- we want to have some fun. The we is Andy, Joe and Adam Fish-- we sell under the eBay name RoboPicto and we have a Kudos thread here on the ol' boards. Some rules 1- No HOS or Probation Folks. 2- We are honest sellers, be honest buyers. Returns are acceptable if you think something isn't right-- but you pick up the return shipping, it must come back within 14 days and you must notify us within 3 of getting it before you return it and it must be in the same condition as we sent it out. 3-Domestic Shipping inside the 48 States will be $4.50 as a base and then multiples of that as you buy more books. But here's the deal-- we charge only what it costs to ship so you aren't paying any handling fees. Shipping has gotten a little expensive especially if you're on the West Coast (we are on the East Coast). We strongly suggest using PRIORITY MAIL because it gets to you fast and safe and you long forget about what you spent on shipping as you're awash in happy comic books, but if you want to go cheaper we can do that. Media mail don't work for comics kids, because there is advertising in it, but you've got the first class option up to 15 or so oz and Parcel Post if you're really hoping to save some dough and you're not in a hurry to get your books. 4- International Shipping (and this includes Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico) is more expensive. How much more? I dunno. But since we only charge what it costs to ship you're paying what it is. That's the best I can do. 5- Payment by Paypal, Personal Check (must clear first) or Postal Money Order are all acceptable forms of payment. Payment within 3 days of the invoice is requested but if you run up a large total and need more time that's something we'll happily talk about. 6- A TAKE IT trumps any negotiations by PM. 7- We'll do recaps every 5 pages to keep it easy to shop-- as said this is a pretty large lot of books and potentially could run several dozen pages. 8- Sale will start Sunday Jan 28th around 5pm Eastern time and we'll spread it out over a few days but we'll let you know in advance which days. 9- While we're happy to take PMs we don't check messages while we're posting so keep that in mind. I have one book to sell today, I'm selling it for a friend, but I have it in hand. I take Checks, MO's and PP. Shipping is exact wherever you live, but I must mail it signature required (priority mail) or my insurance won't cover it, so if you live in Canada or Australia, please keep that in mind. Returns for any reason within 7 days of receipt. Book must be packed the way I sent it and sent the same way. Shipping (since it's a slab) would be the responsibility of the buyer. First wins, here or in a PM I do not sell to people on the probation list, or the HOS. Payment is due within 7 days unless we have made other arrangements by pm before you take the book. How does this effect the grade? The comic looks really good but it is missing a small piece in the lower right corner. The missing piece is 1/8" high and less then 1/4" across. There's some foxing and a dust shadow on the back cover. Thanks in advance!

This is a nice looking book. However - on the ride edge near the bottom the paper bows out slightly - it looks like a tiny little bump. The paper is flat, this is some sort of mis-cut from printing. Every page has this little extension. But my biggest question is about the sun shadow on the front and back covers. What does this do to the grade? Any thoughts as to how this book would grade without any cleaning? Could cleaning even remove the sun shadow? Thank you in advance!!

I'd be interested in some opinions. The front and back covers have sun shadows (or is it dust shadows). The front cover also has some minor bends or little folds at the top corner and along the right edge. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!!

The lot includes the following: Batman 227 - This one is mid grade overall. You can see the vintage date stamp in the cover, but the book is very clean and tightly attached Superman 233 - This one is a little more rough than the Batman. Notably, there is a small bit of writing at the bottom of the first page. All tightly attached. Wolverine 66, Old Man Logan - This is a clean copy of the key Old Man Logan book. Ultimate Fallout 4 - First Miles Morales as Ultimate Spider-Man. Never removed from factory bag, looks pretty clean in the bag. Amazing Spider-Man 363 - early Carnage, classic cover, book looks clean photos following...again, please PM any questions. Thanks
