Hi All! I see the in-person drop off option for when participating at a con event. My question is, do walkthrough tier items get graded there on the spot if you make an appointment? Or will CGC then ship it to FL for grading, and you receive the comic back via mail? Thank you :) -

I am looking to get several comics signed at an upcoming local convention. Fortunately, CGC and the convention both claim a CGC Witness will be present. I have seen many forum posts about how to get your SS slab but they all were for when there would be a CGC booth at the convention. My Questions: When I arrive at Con, what should I do to get my comics signed in the presence of a witness? What will happen next? Do I need to be a CGC member? (since there is no CGC Booth offering their on-site services) Thanks for any/all help! (I want to get Ultimate Spider-man #1,#3,#5,#100, Spec#1; Ultimate Fallout #1, #4;and ASM #361 all signed by Mark Bagley; and Michael Golden to sign Ultimate Spider-man Spec#1) => Not looking to resale, just for personal collection. Yes, I'm ready to drop some dough.

Daytona Beach ComicCon , now a 2-day show, Sat & Sun, April 21 & 22 If you are from Central or North Florida, South Georgia, and other nearby areas in the South, come on down to the Daytona Beach Comic Con held on April 21st and 22nd. Tom Raupp, the show's promoter, always goes out of his way to put on a old-time comic show, complete with comics, toys, art and artists, and everything you expect in an old-skool show. untilThe Twelve California Comic Convention ( CalComicCon ) will be held on Sunday, January 28th 2018. The show will be held in Orange County in Yorba Linda, held just miles from Disneyland and other attractions. We will continue to have a raffle that will have CGC graded comics, original artwork and sketches by guest artists. All paid admissions will receive a raffle ticket, extra ticket can be purchased at the show. Advance purchases will get three tickets, with a chance at a special online ticket holder only raffle. CGC will again be taking comic submissions and doing signature witnessing. This year the California Comic Convention will continue to place emphasis on vintage comic books. see dealers list and pics from past shows. Dealers and collectors from all over the country will be at the show. The show will be held from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM; tickets are only $10 and parking is free. For more info goto: CalComicCon

Hey everyone! With San Francisco Comic Con growing this year and moving into Moscone West (our backyard), there will be a lot of people in town for the con and I thought it'd be fun to throw a comic trading party and boardie meetup after the con. I rented out the private VIP lounge at Jillian's Sports Bar & Restaurant, literally right across the street from Moscone West from 6:00-9:00pm on Saturday, September 2. The expo hall closes at 7:00pm that day. I just wanted to create a fun, relaxed atmosphere for everyone to unwind and hang out after the con, talk comics, do some buying and trading with each other, and have a drink. Renting the private VIP lounge isn't cheap, so I do need to charge for the event, and even then I'm still paying for most of it out of pocket. Tickets are $20, and I'm trying to provide as much value as possible! So what does the ticket get you? Admission to private VIP lounge Opportunity to bring up to 1 short box of comics to buy, sell, and trade with other collectors 1 Shortboxed enamel pin (choose from 5 different designs - these sell for $10 each; see photo) Appetizers (with vegetarian and vegan options) 1 raffle ticket for prizes throughout the evening (various comics and toys) Free-to-play pool table Tickets are available now, and space is limited, so tickets are first come, first served until they sell out. There's only space for 20 people, and there's been a lot of interest from local collectors, so I do expect to sell out - have already sold a few. I really want this to be a community-driven event, which is why I'm posting here. Open to hear any suggestions on how to create a good trading party.
