  1. The ridiculous thread which could never stay on-topic has been locked . . . no ad hominem attacks or posturing here please. Just show us what you have! Cheers!
  2. Looking to purchase the following books in Universal CGC 9.8 white pages: Giant Size Spider-Man 4 Amazing Spider-Man 134 Amazing Spider-Man 202 Spectacular Spider-Man 79 Spectacular Spider-Man 82 Thanks for looking. John https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/332297-parabellums-feedback-thread/#comments
  3. This is a copper/modern WTB list, so in theory, all of this stuff should be available in 9.8 without too much drama. However, a lot of what I'm interested in is, well, drek, and has very few to zero slabbed copies. Also, I do not collect Signature Series slabs, which is... inconvenient for some of this zero-interest modern stuff where most slabs that exist are gold-label. But that's how it goes. I know that distinguishing 9.6s from 9.8s is sometimes as much art as science, and I'm not looking to be That Guy who demands refunds after the fact because I bought a raw that didn't grade out as expected. However, if I'm looking for a 9.6+ or 9.8 candidate raw, I really don't want books that have color rubs, spine ticks, or surface scuffs, much less comics that have been creased, folded, torn, spindled, or mutilated. All payments will be made via PayPal (Goods & Services). I try to provide appropriate initial offers for the books I'm after, and am pretty much guaranteed to be above FMV (such as it is on these books). Let's be honest, there's not a lot of market for most of this stuff... That said, I'm won't rule out reasonable negotiation on the value of some items. Additionally, in general, I will pay shipping costs, which I assume will be about $12 for a slabbed book or somewhat less than that for raws. Please don't underpackage my comics. But seriously, if you have the things I want, you should sell them to me. These are not typically hot books otherwise, so here's your chance to cash out. Hall of Shame inductees are not welcome to be business with me. I reserve the right to maintain a personal blacklist as well. Probationary List members who want to sell me books may do so with some restrictions, because I believe in second chances, but I'm not a sucker. Specifically, I will not buy raw books from PL members, unless it is a book that I would purchase in "any condition". Additionally, I will not remit payment to someone on the PL until the book is physically in my hands. If you don't like that, don't end up on the probationary list. Babylon 5 (DC 1995) and related material I am offering $20 each for 9.6+ candidate raws of newsstand printings only. Currently this offer includes any issue in the series (Babylon 5 #1 - #11, Babylon 5: In Valen's Name #1 - #3). PRIORITY: Babylon 5: The Lost Tales. This 2007 mini-comic was distributed in two ways. First, it was a pack-in with some copies of the DVD for the movie of the same name, sold in-store by Best Buy only. Not all Best Buy DVDs included the comic; reports vary whether they were marked or marketed as a separate limited edition. The same comic was also a SDCC giveaway at a JMS panel discussing the film. Some of the SDCC copies were signed by JMS. All else being equal, I would prefer an unsigned copy. And of course, the higher the grade the better. Regardless, there were a pretty good number of these produced and distributed, but they're tricky to find because most of them didn't go into the hands of traditional comic book collectors. I will pay more for one of these than it is realistically worth. Seriously. I'm not kidding around, someone sell me one of these things. Black Hole (Kitchen Sink Press/Fantagraphics 1995) An extra word for condition on these: while some recent comics with thick, glossy cardstock covers have become famous for being factories for ultra-high-grade slabbed copies, that's really not the case for the semi-gloss cardstock used for Black Hole. It accumulates spine ticks if you look at it too firmly, the top and bottom corners of the spine have frequent bindery chips and equally frequent wear, and the covers scuff easily. Please, please, please be conservative, honest, and reasonably thorough in your grading. The only two comics I've had to return in recent memory due to significant misgrading problems were both copies of Black Hole (undisclosed spine split on a copy of #6, and really terrible surface scuffing on a #11), and I really don't want to have to do that with a boardie. Printing information on this series isn't (usually) readily available from the cover; check the indicia a couple of pages in. It is in white text at the bottom of a black page, and is unusually helpful -- the printing (first or otherwise) will be clearly marked, along with the publication date of that printing! Black Hole #6. Offering $30 for a 9.6+ candidate raw. This issue seems even more prone to bindery chipping than usual, but ideally I'd like a copy with clean corners. Black Hole #7. Offering $100 for the CGC 9.8 (1 in census). Black Hole #9 1st printing. Offering $100 for the CGC 9.8 (1 in census). Black Hole #11. Offering $100 for a CGC 9.8 (2 in census). Black Hole #12. Offering $70 for the CGC 9.6 (1 in census; you'll never get a better offer for this slab!) or $30 for a 9.6+ candidate raw. Also, I have been unable to confirm whether my list of reprints for this series is complete, and Fantagraphics wasn't able to provide confirmation either. Accordingly, I am interested in any printing that I don't currently own, in any condition. Honestly, I don't think most of these exist. I'm not sure any of these exist. The most likely one to be out there somewhere is a 2nd printing of Black Hole #4, presumably in the form of a Fantagraphics reprint of the Kitchen Sink original. If that, or any of these others do exist, they were likely printed between 2003 and 2005. I am offering $25 for literally any copy regardless of condition, $50 for any nice copy (let's say 8.0+), or considerably more for a 9.6+ candidate. A lot of people have random one-off copies of this run in their backstock. Check your printings! PRIORITY: Finally, at some point prior to the 1995 publication of Black Hole #1, Charles Burns self-published what is essentially a Black Hole ashcan, containing the same art as Black Hole #1, but in an untitled 8.25" x 5.5" preview of sorts. This was a signed and numbered (on the first interior page) run of 7, apparently given out by Burns to recipients of his choosing. I know that at least a couple of these have since traded on the secondary market. Copy #6/7 sold for a little under $600 in 2016. I'm prepared to do better than that. Even drek collectors need their impossible grails, right? If you don't have one of these, but you know where one is, and your information eventually leads me to acquire it, I will kick back a finder's fee of 10% of whatever I end up paying. EverQuest one-shots (Wildstorm 2002) EverQuest: Accounting. This was a box-set pack-in with the Gold Edition collector's tin, and so had a print run of 35,000 copies. Which means it's not at all rare, but relatively few of them have made their way into tradition comic resale channels. I'm offering $40 for a 9.6+ candidate copy. Quite a few of these tins have survived unopened (although FMV for sealed tins is somewhat higher than I'd like to pay for just the comic), so I'm probably not willing to negotiate upward on this one. EverQuest: Transformation. This glossy, squarebound book was a traditional comic book release. It just wasn't a very exciting one. As far as I'm concerned, Portacio sort of phoned in the cover, Phillip Tan phoned in the interiors, and Devin Grayson phoned in the -script. Unlike the vastly superior EverQuest: Ruins of Kunark (which I own in 9.8), no one has ever bothered slabbing this drek. If you've got a copy that could legitimately be considered a 9.8 book, I'll ... I don't know, toss 20 bucks at it? PRIORITY: EverQuest Online Adventures: The Quest for Darkpaw. This was a promotional give-away comic for the short-lived PlayStation 2 spinoff game. There is essentially zero sales history for this thing. I'm interested in picking it up as a 9.2+ raw. If you have one, shoot me a message and we can suss out a value. Labyrinth: the Movie (Marvel 1986) and later series Labyrinth: the Movie #1 (Marvel 1986). Offering $150 if one of the CGC 9.8s (23 in census) is the newsstand printing. Make inquiries if you have a 9.8 candidate raw newsstand. Labyrinth: the Movie #2 (Marvel 1986). Offering $175 if one of the CGC 9.8s (4 in census) is the newsstand printing. Make inquiries if you have a 9.8 candidate raw newsstand. Labyrinth 30th Anniversary Special (Boom 2016) Normal version. Offering $75 for a CGC 9.8 (58 in census). Fried Pie Edition. Offering $150 for the CGC 9.8 (1 in census). Offering $40 for a 9.8 candidate raw. On hold while the ComicXposure people try to figure out whether or not the copy they sold me actually exists.... PRIORITY: Legends of the Dark Crystal/Return to Labyrinth (Tokyopop, 2006). This thing was apparently a DVD pack-in, although I'm not ... exactly sure what DVD it was a pack-in in. It's a flipbook, read from one side (apparently ostensibly the front), it is a preview for the Tokyopop Legends of the Dark Crystal graphic novels. Read from the other side, the same thing, for Return to Labyrinth. The whole thing is 16 pages, black-and-white, 7.5" x 5" cardstock cover. I have literally zero idea how to value this. If you have one, and want to sell it to me, we can work something out! Also note, there is more than one of these things!! The one I am looking for (and pictured below) has a preview of Return to Labyrinth volume 1, and 2006 copyright dates. There is a second... issue... with a less ornate cover, 2007 copyright dates, and a preview of Return to Labyrinth volume 2. I have that one, which was a pack-in with at least certain copies of the Labyrinth/Dark Crystal/Mirrormask box set. Was the 2006 version a pack-in with earlier pressings of the same box set? Who knows?! Tokyopop, for the record, has no record of how they distributed these, or even exactly what they printed. Thanks, Tokyopop... If there's a third version of this that previews RtL 3, I'd be interested in that too (but I am fairly certain there no such book exists). Midnight Nation (Image/Top Cow 2000) This is probably the drek-iest thing I'm currently buying, but I'm legitimately paying money for these books. Feel free to mock me roundly. I know this is not an investment title. I'm mostly done with this title. There are singleton 9.9 copies of Midnight Nation #1 and Top Cow Classics in Black & White: Midnight Nation #1 on the census. I'll open with an offer of $150 for either of them. Considering these are effectively dollar-bin books as raws, if you're the owner of either of those slabs, this is probably your best shot at cashing them out.

  22. Hello all! I'm going to be downsizing my operations to focus on my day job while maintaining an online presence selling graded books and keys. I LOVE doing shows, but my real life situation doesn't allow me to do as many as I would like, nor allow me to travel for them, so it's time to pull the plug as they say. Therefore, it's time to clear out a big chunk of my inventory, so I'm going to post this here first and foremost, and see if there any takers for the entire lot. I will officially close it by the end of the week-end in order to 'legally' advertise it elsewhere. On to the fun stuff! Asking price: $15,000.00 CAD (Estimated real retail market value $60K+ CAD) Shipping/delivery terms: Pick-up only. Location: Montreal, QC, Canada Grade: Grades vary of course, but the 1985-present stuff is on average 9.4. The Silver Age stuff is mostly low grade (5.0 and lower), while the Bronze Age stuff is pretty solid for the most part--6.0 and higher for the most part. The books have been stored in a clean and dry storage facility, so no need to worry about this being a water-damaged, etc. lot. Miscellaneous: All but 7-8 boxes have been processed and are ready to go if you want to start a business. In other words, you don't have to spend 700 hours prepping these books. Bags and boards are relatively new (<5 years) for the processed stuff. Are there any keys?: There are no big keys in here. I'm keeping the pricier books and graded books, but that doesn't mean this has been cherry-picked. All of the under $40.00 books are still there. There are TONS of lower-end "wall books." About 50* longboxes broken down as follows: 24 longboxes of my main Bronze to Current inventory. Consists of books priced between $4.00-35.00 each. I’d say the average sticker price is north of $7.00 (and I don’t jack sticker prices up). Long runs of solid-selling titles like ASM, BATMAN, WALKING DEAD, HARLEY QUINN, DEADPOOL, X-MEN, etc… These boxes are my bread and butter. I try to stock only quality books in these. Lots of classic covers and minor keys, as well as variants. 6 longboxes of sets. Lots of pricier sets such as CIVIL WAR, HUSH, OLD MAN LOGAN, MARVEL SUPERHEROES SECRET WARS, CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS, NOVA vol. 1, SHE-HULK vol. 1, INFINITY GAUNTLET, THE LONG HALLOWEEN, etc… 4 long boxes of “cheapies.” These are mostly books that most vendors prices at $3.00-5.00 each, but I normally blow out. Mostly modern stuff with some low grade Silver Age (SA), Bronze Age (BA) and lower end Copper (CA) books. 4-5 longboxes of “discount” oldies. This is mostly lower end SA and BA books, many of which were purchased from a large store purchase and I didn’t want to reprocess it all so I simply put them in 50% off bins since their sticker prices were rather high. 2 long boxes of SA books. A nice mix of stuff priced under $40.00 each. 1 longbox or so of magazines and older Marvel Graphic novels. Several $40.00+ items. 6 or so long boxes of TPBs and HCs, including a few pricey editions. 1 magazine box of fanzines, art folios, Fireside Books, and other misc. type items. 4-5 boxes of overstock. Most of it consist of Spidey, X-Men and Bat titles. The photos below show most of the boxes. Thanks for looking and don't hesitate to ask questions. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * The exact number of boxes per category might be off. I have to triple check.
  23. Hi everyone! I will be running this as a parallel thread to my main sales thread in GA/SA/BA here: https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/418491-mixed-marvel-books-saba/ This thread will contain a mixture of stuff from any era, in most cases at very low prices, and free stuff that can be either claimed or added to a purchase (this will be specified on a case by case basis). My Kudos thread is here. I try to grade books accurately but I’m not a professional, so if you have doubts feel free to ask me more details via PM. Rules: The first (icon or text) in thread wins. You can purchase by PM but at your own risk – I will go by time stamp. Shipping: The shipping rates are fully specified in the main sales thread, so – since I am in Italy and postage is quite expensive, one can easily calculate how many free or cheap items can be worth to grab. Return policy: I do not offer returns as it would be impractical cost-wise from here, but in the unfortunate case I missed something drastic (like a cut out page or ad) I will make sure to make you whole. Thanks for looking!
  24. eBay auctions: Copper Age X-men related pages! Okay, tightwads, you wanted the artists to lower there prices, you got it. Here's a batch of Copper Age X-Factor pages from the Mutant Massacre and the Evolutionary War storylines, all discounted from their listed. You got no more excuses now. Time for you to put up or shut up (I'm betting you haven't got the guts for the former, though). Fail on this and you prove everything I've ever said about this "community" is true. So, what's it gonna be? http://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?item=191225202282&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&_sop=1&rmvSB=true&hash=item2c85e9066a&afsrc=1&_ssn=whatwhatwhat06 {NOTE: And remember, buffoons , if you have an international address, you won't see the auctions, as I don't sell internationally though eBay. You will have to contact me direct at the art gallery to buy. Yeah, I know, opening your mouths to talk business, rather than trash, is a big hardship for you, but them is the breaks! Deal with it!}
