I did a search but didn't find a thread devoted to the genius of John Stanley. We are all familiar with his Little Lulu work but the other work he did for Dell is a bit off the radar but certainly fun. Here's a couple of examples from Animal Comics I had handy and I hope others can mine their collections for his hidden gold. Lulu welcome as well but I think she has her own thread.

We're helping a friend sell his childhood collection of Golden Age comics that have been carefully packed away for the past 65 years. There are hundreds, maybe a thousand, from 1947 through 1953, that appear to be in much better condition than a lot of what's selling on eBay. The first small batch sold easily for more than expected. So we regrouped, did a little more research, and got some advice. One expert suggested starting with a low opening bid to draw more interest, but the next small batch got very few views and some went to last minute bidders that took everything that hadn't been bid up. So we're regrouping again and would love to hear this great community's thoughts/advice. Most of these are from an original owner collection. The later books are nicer (he got older). I bought them from a nice man who is a forensic auditor, he loved staples as a kid (maybe now too) because a number of the books had notes stapled to them. I pulled those books out and I'll probably post them as freebies, , but if I left one in accidentally and don't mention the staples let me know. Despite his claim, some of the books he did not buy off the rack (they were published before he was born). All of these books are complete, no missing coupons. I counted the pages on everything, but anyone can make a mistake so if I missed something, let me know. Nothing was pressed, spindled...ok, maybe spindled, he read them all...except the doubles, there are lots of doubles. Some books (about 50) I purchased off the boards in the past 6 years and I included them. Most of these are very inexpensive and to keep that way, I have a little less detail than I usually do, but just ask if you need more. I should have front and back pictures for everything, even the $1 books, if I don't, just ask. I want to combine shipping for you, so I will hold whatever you buy until I finish the thread, that might take a few weeks. If you want something mailed before, just ask. I accept Paypal, checks or Money Orders (or diamonds;) ok, maybe silver for these;) I expect payment within 3 days of the date I invoice you unless we come to some other agreement before you take a book. If you need to do time payments, please let me know before posting a take it. Shipping. I will ship these any way you want, that means yes, I will do media for these. I picked this The Funnies 44 when working out a deal on a few books. I really liked the Cover and and shape for the age. But it does not really fit with my collection I would say it is a g/vg (GA grading is not my forte) complete no resto that I see attached cover (although the top front is off) and centerfold. Overall a decent book. There are only 5 in the CGC census and sales data scarce. The last raw g/vg I found sold was on heritage in 2017 for 155. I asking 250 now $125 shipped or best offer thanks

Okay gang, this is a large subset of a collection I acquired a little while back -- about two short boxes of bronze horror, mostly DC, but a handful of Marvel, 40 or 50 Charltons, a few Dell Ghost Stories, some Boris Karloff and Ripley's Believe it or Not from Gold Key, and a Red Circle Sorcery. Over 200 books in all, and I will move through posting them as quickly as I can. On the most affordable books, I might post front cover only if my assigned grade is due solely to overall wear. However, don't hesitate to ask for more/different pix on any books. Just trying to keep it moving and keep it from being too many pages. I have a modest collection of about 60 comics of the 50s/60s for sale. These include: Marvel, DC, Dell (several 4-colors and Westerns), Gold Key, Harvey, and some misc (Dennis the Menace, Air Boy). I've used the grading on a few, to try to help me with grading, to the best of my ability, and used the price charts, to help set prices for what I plan to sell. I've seen descriptions vary and the grading overlap. I've tried numerous online sites, and have been told they're not worth much, and not worth getting graded, so I would be selling these "officially as raw." I'm not expecting them to sell at top dollar, as I believe most to be between 2.0 - 5.5 (with a few maybe at 6.0 - 6.5). What I want to know is, how well can I expect from here, or anywhere else I'm looking to sell, to come close to the "graded value?" -
