  1. The Books: A handful of Golden Age that I'm surprised got passed over in past threads. Maybe they were just not noticed? At any rate, we'll give 'em a quick spotlight before I steel my resolve and deploy the oddball 30% of that recent collection I bought in a herculean effort to bring sexy back to Mixed! (More on that in the General Announcement thread soon as I get closer to having it organized.) First wins; tie/indeterminate goes to the thread. Payment: Check or Money Order. Shipping: USPS Priority (Legal Flat Rate at $8 or Medium Box at $15 if we cannot fit in Legal.) Don't be listy including the little one in my head. Returns: Sure, just notify me within three days of receipt and get it back to me in the same shape on your dime.
  2. I collect Fawcett books (Marvel Family, Master Comics and Captain Marvel Jr) and this one's been eluding me. Will pay FMV but can only afford the midgrade range (4.0-5.0) and would preffer raw so I could read it. If you have other comics from those titles along with this one, I might be interested in those too. Cheers!
  3. The Dawn of Horror Comics in Brazil was led by incredible publishers such as, Continetal, Outubro, La Selva beginning in 1951. Much of the content original to the country of origin, and created by the some of the greatest artists in our genre's history Globally. Jayme Cortez, and Miguel Penteado considered the Godfathers of Terror in Brazil. These men led the way for other masters such as, Julio Shimamoto, Nico Rosso, Eugénio Colonese etc. Our family has collected International comics for going on 28yrs and have been lucky enough to be able to acquire original published art from all the above and more. It is one thing to have the vintage comic and another to be able to view the original creation up close. Cortez and Penteado both classically trained prior to entering the comic field there works are nothing short of Master Works. I hope you enjoy and thank you to those who share there stories of discovery with our family. Enjoy O Terror Negro #1 Published by La Selva, Brazil 1951
  4. Hi there, I hope you're able to stay safe and healthy during these tough times. Some awesome books have popped up lately, and I'm looking to fund a purchase or two. I'll be posting a few at a time, as time permits. Some cool SOTI books to come, as well as a few non-SOTI items. Payment via PayPal. Returns for any reason welcome within 14 days. If the return is due to my error, I pay return shipping; otherwise, you pay return shipping. These items come from a smoke-free and, to the best of our knowledge, COVID-free house. No probationites or shameful ones. Shipping $12 in the US. Sorry, no shipping outside the US at the moment because that requires an extra trip to the Post Office, which I'm not willing to do right now. If you're outside the US and you'd like something in this thread, let's discuss a solution. Shipping via USPS Priority Mail, fully insured. I ship within 3 business days of receiving cleared payment. PM's are welcome, but "take it" in thread beats everything else. . All books unrestored unless noted. I have never pressed a book or bought a book I knew to be pressed, so everything is, to my knowledge, unpressed.
  5. Batman 67 CGC Universal Blue Label 4.5 New Lower Price For Sale for $ 325.00 from jimhouston1@mac.com No Returns - Pay Pal or Check 100% feedback on ebay as jimhouston
  6. Does anyone have a copy of Gay Comics #40 that they would be willing to sell? Low grade is perfectly fine as long as it's complete. Thanks!
  7. Shipping: Raw books, include $8 for shipping within North America. I will combine additional books at no extra charge Who wins: Time stamp seals the deal as to who wins regardless of the form of communication (including PM, in the thread, text or phone conversation). A negotiation is not a deal until both sides have agreed on terms. If there is an unconditional posted (or communicated) it will trump all negotiations unless we have already both agreed to terms before the was posted. In that case, the will have been in vain. Except that it will give you street cred and look cool to passers by. No House Of Shame or Probationary members or any others of ill repute. Returns: I consider myself a fair and accurate grader and have been selling vintage comics form many years but since even CGC is inconsistent I will not guarantee a CGC grade. I will guarantee to be within one grade increment in either direction - so if I am calling the book a 9.4 it could go 9.2 or 9.6. If it falls outside of those parameters (and it does happen that they go in both directions), I will offer a refund. But I don't expect anyone to complain if I undergraded it. PAYMENTS: I accept Paypal goods and services only
  8. Hey guys any idea on value of this beauty? Cant find much online
  9. Howdy Ho So! I've been chatting with a collector buddy of mine from down Ohio way for the last few weeks, and he's hard against it with the cost of the quarantine, and I've volunteered to sell a few books for him to help cover his current bills. Works out well, I'm bored, he's broke, Remember s few years back when I was selling stuff from Lunatic Lowgrade Guy? Old school collector, didn't care what shape as long as the stories were all there? This fellow is cut from the same cloth, let's call him Lunatic Lowgrade Lite, his stuff averages out at least G for the most part. I got his care package yesterday, the scans in this thread are all mine, all fresh. As this is to help out a friend, I'm working from his guidelines (with some input from me) so the prices are going to be pretty firm for the most part. This batch is heavy on teen humor and good girl art, but there are a couple of nice WWII covers, including a HITLER, woo woo! Please note the true Ohio touch, several with the Bohnett's store stamp! Lunatic Lite says if things go well he'll send me another packet in a week or two, so fingers crossed, There's stuff in here I've never had before, and one or two I've never SEEN before. DA RULEZ I'll put up a big scan of the FC, note anything else I spot, and as always, if you'd like a scan of the back cover I'll be happy to supply it. Shipping to USA preferred, but if you want something sent to Canada or overseas PM me and we'll work something out. :TAKEIT: rules the roost, but PM's, kibitzing, and general tomfoolery are welcome. $8.50 Priority shipping to the USA for one to four books, well packed in a padded envelope. $15 boxed Priority for larger quantities. Canada or overseas to be determined. For the bargainminded I can ship one or two books First Class for $5.00 CHECK OR MONEY ORDER PREFERRED, I just plain out don't like paypal. If you just GOTTA pay with paypal PM me and we'll work something out. Returns for any reason on your dime, and for any missed major flaw or bad description on my dime. My Kudos thread: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4287314#Post4287314 First book up in five minutes, to give the crowd a chance to gather.
  10. When I find a name on a cover, I try to track them down. I just tracked down the guy, Bruce Lehr, whose name is all over my Cap 36. He said when he was of the age, he and all his buddies would trade comics. He got tired of never getting his back, so he stamped and wrote his name on his books. A lot. He sold his collection 25 years ago to a LCS in Harrisburg, PA. They told him his books were next to worthless due to him putting his name all over his books, and paid him pennies for them. This was 25 years ago, and I think he's still ticked. I didn't have the heart to tell him what I had paid for it. A fellow boardie told me he had tracked down Tommy Thorsen, whose name is written on a number of pre-Robin Tecs. Does anyone else have a story to share? I remember hearing Jon Berk tracked down Larson, of the Larson pedigree. Don't know if that's true or not, but its a cool story.
  11. Little Giant Comics OLD SCHOOL COMIC SHOW Everett Arena in Concord NH April 28th from 10a-5p This will be an OLD SCHOOL comic show like back in the day, GREAT COMICS, GREAT ART & THE ARTISTS THAT CREATED THEM! Here's the deal, I wanted to create the kind of show I would want to attend. GREAT COMICS, GREAT ART & ARTISTS! I want to enter a room filled with amazing comics, incredible art and talented artists, I don't think that's too much to ask. Seems like every show I attend only has a small amount of comic vendors (usually the same 3 or 4 people I see at every show), the rest of the floor is fidget spinners, Cosplay stopping in front of your booth for photo shoots, sweaty ROOT BEER mugs everywhere dripping on your comics or art, Pirates running around, knick knack patty whacks, energy drinks, Ice Cream vendors and flea market fodder........ NO MORE I SAY!! Little Giant Comics OLD SCHOOL COMIC SHOW

  16. SO! I was all tooled up to go to Fantasticon Toledo for set up tomorrow, when the Ohio Gov put out the word that any such gatherings were officially on hold. Could have been worse, I hadn't started loading the truck yet, But that leaves me at loose ends for the weekend, so I figgered I might as well put the time to use. I'm selling what's closest, which happens to be a big old pile of British and other import books, heavy on 50's and 60's squarebounds with some great content, four very pretty 1962 British Flash reprints, Australian and Brazilian Tarzan, and of all things, Dutch Flash Gordon reprints from the Alex Raymond era, Beyond these I have some interesting Golden Age, a nice pile of coverless precode horror and other fun books, some very clean 50's giveaways, and a very pretty Bronze book to be revealed later. If you're all GOOD boys and girls I MAY even pull out my Cerebus #1 and offer it up. For the bargainminded I can ship one or two books First Class for $4.50 CHECK OR MONEY ORDER PREFERRED, I just plain out don't like paypal, but I'm less cranky about than I used to be, Returns for any reason on your dime, and for any missed major flaw or bad description on my dime. My Kudos thread: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4287314#Post4287314 Here we go! Astounding Stories 6, British Reprints Atlas SF stories plus an early Human Torch and an early Doctor Strange. Flat and tight, good gloss, some general wear along the spine Asking $10
  17. Here's an odd duck for you Canadian White fans! Three Ring Comics 3, the 6P variant. More after my fine lookin/ boilerplate! My Kudos thread: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4287314#Post4287314 Here we go! As I said up above, selling the following: Three Ring Comics 3, the 6P variant. I've done some digging, and there don't seem to be more than four or five of these documented, with only two copies on GPA Our own Silver Surfer sold a copy back in October of 2017, and at first I thought I had ended up with eccomic's old undercopy. But he and I have consulted, and although they're nearly identical twins, this is another copy. Same big 3P scrawl upper right, same stamp upper RH BC, and it's in nearly an identical spot, so they both must have come from the same news stand. Front cover is reprinted from Pep Comics 22, with The Shield's US flag being redrawn as the Union Jack for the British crowd, but there's the gigantic hobnail boot coming down, with The Hangman rushing in from the rear to land a hand! But the interior is some generic funny stuff, not a whiff of MLJ content. This is probably as close as I'll ever come to owning a Pep 22 unless I find The Magic Garage Sale, This copy is flat and tight, white pages, but there's that big ol' 3P in ink, a tiny sliver off the RH edge upper FC, and a small tape pull lower curve of the 3 in the 3P scrawl. Here's a linky to Surfer's sale, with more pix, and a shot of eccomic's old copy. Like I said, TWINS! With the book being about the same shape or so but with the big ol' 3P scrawl I'm asking $500

  20. Merry Christmas! My annual Holiday Sales Thread will begin tonight at 7 PM CST. I'll be listing hundreds of books over the next month. In fact, I have no doubt that this will be the best group of books at the best prices that I have ever offered. Invoices will be sent in mid January, and no shipping will occur until that time. So even if you don't have enough cash right now, you have about 1 month to save up for your purchases. I've had my best year in comics, between my website and the conventions which I have done. I've been extremely active buying this year. Not only have I been setting stuff aside all year long for this sale, but I also have just purchased a huge collection of primarily high grade books. Many of these books will be offered here before anywhere else. All of these books will be accurately graded and there is a 100% satisfaction guarantee on all of them. There will be Golden Age, Silver Age, and Bronze age. There are keys, semi-keys, movie books, high grades, mid grades, and low grades, and as always, lots of books that you just don't see offered. Almost all of it will be CHEAP, heavily discounted in some cases! Lots and lots of bargains for the collector, and even room for dealers to make money. Lots of Neal Adams, Bernie Wrightson, and Jim Steranko! Frazetta, Schomburg, Baker, and LB Cole covers, GGA, Pre-code horror, Pre Hero Atlas, and cool Romance books that you just don't see. There should be something for everyone, and at a price you will like. Typical board rules apply. is king! I welcome reasonable offers by PM, but not 30 seconds after the book has been posted. And no editing of I'll Take its. If you click it, its yours. Payment - Paypal is the preferred method of payment, but I will accept checks or money orders. I also do time payments on purchases (combined or individual) of more than $500.00, but you must ask before clicking the I'll take it. I prefer NOT to draw payments out more than a couple of months, and if you do time payments with me, you can't be buying other stuff on the boards, while I am waiting for your payment . And typically speaking, I don't do discounts and time payments together. Shipping - I will ship worldwide. I use Fed Ex on large shipments (and purchases over $2000) and USPS Priority for everything else. USA Priority shipping begins at $8.00, and goes up from there. I do not use first class shipping for international. Priority mail is the only option, unless you clear it with me first. Listing schedule - This is a tentative schedule, due to potential family or holiday activities, but I will stick to it as nearly as I can. Thursday December 12th - 7 PM CST Sunday December 15th - 8 PM CST Thursday December 19th - 7 PM CST Sunday December 22nd - 8 PM CST Thursday December 26th - 6 PM CST Sunday December 29th - 8 PM CST Thursday January 9th - 7 PM CST Sunday January 12th - 8 PM CST - Grand Finale! The pics below are a tiny fraction of the stuff that will be offered. If you have questions or requests, please PM them to me. Thanks for looking and get ready to grab some books!

  24. I would keep every book that comes may way if I could, but I need to make some room for more additions... such is life. This is my first attempt of selling comics on the boards, although I’ve purchased items from various members here. So if I make an error somewhere, please contact me directly. Here’s the fine print: CONUS only, unless we have agreed on other arrangements ahead of time. No PL/Hall of Shamers, or probies. The first “Take” wins. I definite "I'll take it" in the thread trumps pending negotiations. I'm sure most of you know the routine.. Please review photos carefully and ask any questions beforehand. I accept check, money order, or add 3% for Paypal. Payments must be made within 7 days or the item goes back up for sale. If you have been nominated for probation for non-payment in the past, I will require payment within 24 hrs. Unless a different method is agreed upon beforehand, shipping will be USPS $10 for raw books, $18 for slabbed, with both insurance and signature required (buyer pays insurance on full value) . Returns are fine within 7 days of receipt for raw books, but Buyer must cover return costs, and items must be returned in their original condition. No returns on slabbed comics.
  25. Here it is, the big one. I know, I haven't posted much lately. Actually I never ever posted a lot, but the last 1-2 years have really been quiet from my side. I started my own business, a one man show, which changed my whole life. Some may remember me, I actually bought quiet a lot of stuff here on the boards through the years. Others may not know me at all, but I think my Kudos thread speaks for itself. Shipping: Free shipping to USA, Canada and EU countries (I'm from Europe). Other countries please ask before posting anything like Payment: PayPal House Of Shame or Probationary members: No, thanks If you post a in the thread or PM, you get the book, if the time stamp is on your side. If there is some negotiation going on with you and me and somebody else posts a he wins and you lose. It's all about the time stamp. Don't start negotiations after posting ,it means you agree on the price and all of my terms. Returns: No returns unless there is a really good reason for it. Don't commit to buying if you are not sure of it. Please keep in mind, that I'm from Europe and therefore won't be able to answer you right away, because of the time difference.
