…and with a mighty shrug, Thor breaks the bonds that held Dr. Don Blake captive, “And the heavy ropes which held Don Blake so securely.. Are like thin pieces of thread… to the Mighty Thor!” Journey into Mystery #100 pg. 7 – Don Heck on pencils and inks. Twice-up 1963 Silver Age Art from the early days of Marvel, image size 12.5" x 18.5" featuring Thor, Mr. Hyde and Jane Foster. Page is white and in great condition. This is a really nice twice-up Thor page featuring a captive Don Blake transforming into Thor, along with a classic Silver-age villain. I like those early issues with Dr. Blake and Jane Foster, who played such prominent roles in the early stories. But Don Blake was phased out as Thor started spending more time off-world, and Jane Foster was replaced by the lovely Sif as Thor’s love interest. Eventually, Blake was revealed to be a construct of All-Father Odin, created to teach the brash Thor a lesson in humility. So Don Blake / Thor transformation pages are not common, and this page is a great example of that early Siler Age Marvel magic. A comparable Heck Thor page from this very issue sold for over $13K at Heritage last year. I like this page better. 11K SHIPPED FedEx Priority w/ sig. req. CONUS. Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I ran a sale. I am selling a batch of Thor books on the behalf of an Italian friend of mine which never get into collecting the original editions in full and settled back with the Italian editions. Most of the issues are low to midgrade, I am giving indicative grades as I am not great in grading the lower ranges. Feel free to ask for back cover scans and/or questions. IMPORTANT: As many of you know, I am based in Italy. Postage costs for Registered are high, so I’ve decided to offer Priority (which has no tracking) as well, but just to people which I already know and I'm acquainted with and with the agreed upon condition that if the packages gets lost we have no means to check it. Both methods have more or less the same transit times: 12-15 days to USA/Americas or less. Please send me a message for postage costs to other locations. Shipping costs are as follows: Registered: $20 up to 350g (1-2 comic books, or the equivalent) $29 up to 1kg. Priority (not trackable): $16 up to 350g (1-2 comic books, or the equivalent) $20 up to 1kg For heavier packages we may consider an Express Courrier which will be cheaper than Poste Italiane. This Collection has a lot of awesome books but over 60% of the books have the "Original Owners Name" inside on the splash page and a single hole punch on the Comics Code Authority box.... The Original Owner's name was Dave Read.... so I am calling this collection the "DRead" collection.... This was a very intresting collection primarily of Silver Age Marvels... with a handful of DC's. I have spoken to a bunch of my mentors on how to grade books with a single hole punch discretely placed on the cover only.... and the guidance I have been given is grade the book with out the hole punch and deduct 1.0 grade from there... and that how I have everything graded. These books were purchased off the rack in Concord Ontario. Any questions or concerns do not hesitate to reach out. No the Details: First in thread gets the book. Hi everyone, I have two raw books up for sale: Journey Into Mystery #105 - FN/VF 7.0 - $85 $75 (OSPG value is $125) Tales to Astonish #53 - FN/VF 7.0 (possibly higher, please see description) - $70 $60 (OSPG value is $94) Those of you who've sold raw books to me in the past know I ask a bunch of questions when I'm interested in a book, and I can say that none of these books have: Loose or detached staples Rusty staples A loose or detached centerfold Spine splitting Soiling, water damage, stains or fingerprints unless noted Tears unless noted Chipping or dents unless noted Major creases Any printing defects (printers creases, smudges, etc.) Any interior defects (tears, missing page corner chips, etc.) I charge exact shipping to ship these books insured via USPS Priority Mail, and the shipping cost will depend on your location (I'm willing to ship anywhere in the world, but I know USPS Priority Mail shipping costs are high outside of the U.S.). Send it back as damaged and I will inspect it and either repackage/reship or refund you. If you sign for the package you can't return it.
