  1. No local shows means stuff I’ve priced and organized is just sitting around in boxes taking up space. I’ve been able to sell a few boxes of comics here recently, so now I’ll try other items. Shipping: United States only, shipping is at cost. It’s hard to estimate shipping costs for these items (or combination of items) due to different sizes. I’ll pack your items and charge you exact shipping via USPS or PayPal: $8 - $12: USPS Regional Priority Box $13: USPS Medium Flat Rate Box $15: USPS Large Flat Rate Box Pricing: Offers are always welcome. I love to trade! Always looking for stuff like this…but not this exact stuff. Rules: PayPal preferred; check and money order ok (checks must clear before shipping). Payment due within 2 days. No Returns. I'd be happy to send more pictures or descriptions upon request. No HOS or other list people. Thanks for looking!
  2. Marvel Rising #1 CGC 9.8 https://www.ebay.com/sch/prt.inc/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from= Just send a message here, if you have any interest! Could work something out. Thanks! Have a cool night.
  3. I'm selling some CGC'd books from my collection - many signed. Below is the complete list. https://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=&_ssn=noodles1771&_sop=1 All books sold so far have shipped out within 24hrs of sale and are carefully and attentively packed. All CGC Cases are Mint and literally have not been removed from the return box from CGC aside from the pictures taken for the listings below. Feel free to e-mail any questions. Thanks for looking! 5. After many years of collecting, I finally own every Marvel Giant Size book! Background: Although I didn't grow up in the 1970s when the GS books were hitting the stands, I had several well-read copies that I cherished above all of my other comics. Why? Because they were big! I didn't care that some of the stories were reprints, I just liked reading a beefy thick comic book and my appreciation for the GS books continued into my adult years. I've been slowly (very slowly) collecting every GS title over the years and it feels great to finally have them all (at least I think I do! ). Over 95% of this collection was purchased "the old fashioned way", at garage sales, comics shops, and from generous CGC Boardies. Sure, you could easily jump on eBay and assemble all 68 issues, but what fun is that?! I intentionally avoided eBay for this run (can you call it a run?!) Rough guess, but this run has taken me +10 years to complete. Many of them are low grades, but I prefer it that way...I decided to seek all of these books out because I want my sons to be able to read them and enjoy them just like I did as a kid (and yes I have floppy versions of the graded books). Cheers and happy collecting! Fun Facts: - My first Giant Size book as a kid: GS Kid Colt #1 - My last purchase to complete the set: GS Man Thing #4 - My favorite GS book: GS Chillers #2 - Hardest GS book for me to find "organically": GS Kid Colt #3 - Most $ spent on a GS book: GS Spiderman #4 (I got my original copy of GSXM1 at a garage sale, had it graded, traded down years later for the 5.0 I currently have!) - I've read every single one! Let's celebrate these quintessential Bronze Marvel books by posting your favorite GS books in the thread! Thanks for reading. Also, in case anyone is interested here’s the list of all the GS books: DD 1 Conan 1,2,3,4,5 Master of Kung Fu 1,2,3,4 FF 2,3,4,5,6 Man Thing 1,2,3,4,5 Dracula 2,3,4,5 Defenders 1,2,3,4,5 Cap 1 Cap Marvel 1 Doc Savage 1 Superstars 1 Thor 1 Iron man 1 Hulk 1 Invaders 1 Power Man 1 Dr Strange 1 Chillers 1,2,3 Chillers 1 (Dracula) Marvel Triple Action 1,2 Avengers 1,2,3,4,5 Super Villain Team Up 1,2 Spider-Man 1,2,3,4,5,6 Kid Colt 1,2,3 Creatures 1 Werewolf 2,3,4,5 Xmen 1,2

  20. Competition between DC and Marvel has been long-standing since the companies existed parallel to one another. The unhealthy side of the MCU vs DCEU debate took it to a new level as the internet and social media empowered easier access to outlets that could reach a larger audience for such topics, and to any level of extreme thinking. But how one-sided can it be? Is it just the fans taking shots at one another to make it clear only their company can be on top? An example of how such fixations can bleed into reviewer opinions is this Vulture piece when the writer was part of the reporters visiting the Justice League set to take on Zack Snyder about their concerns. VULTURE: Zack Snyder Faces His Haters on the Set of Justice League (June-2016) It's clear the writer is not a fan of the DCEU films up to that point, Zack Snyder's approach, nor the darker side of the DC stories. Though the green screen comment is interesting. As if he had visited the Age of Ultron set two years prior... green screen city. But is it limited to just the reviewers and tracking sites taking sides? At times, the creators and cast members can allow themselves to be pulled into such fixation. Anthony Mackie is so dedicated to the MCU, he is known to take regular shots at the other side to convey how much he loves Marvel. To the point he will tell a reviewer if they like a film from the DCEU, you may as well give up your career and have awful taste. Although at times he is just doing it for fun to trash talk (how I took it), some fans can pounce on this and take it further to support their preferred studio and actors. The Russo Brothers, on the other hand addressed this professionally about wanting to make a great film no matter any competition. But even Anthony Mackie admits in other interviews there really is no fixation on beating DCEU movies (4:11), and no - MCU cast members are not sitting around beating down such films. He even notes how there are people assuming this is what they do during filming, which he doesn't understand. And it sure isn't an MCU thing, as David Ayer allowed himself to be pulled into such debates in the most extreme of ways. Though later on he apologized for this extreme statement. As much as Zack Snyder has been attacked for his dark DCEU films, he has publicly stated being a fan of Marvel films. Even recently admitting at the 2019 Zack: Snyder: The Director's Cuts event he is a fan of the Avengers films. So a positive statement. Even worse is when the critics reveal how much they dislike the direction of a company's properties in film, wanting 'the other side' to do it like their beloved company. Though some make it so personal, it feeds into their unbiased reviewer expectations (Joanna Robinson - Senior Writer, VanityFair.com). Or, even worst when it becomes so personalized to convey their dislike of a franchise approach, it is a total fixation on a given creator (Lindsay Ellis - Channel Awesome film reviewer; Priscilla Page - Birth.Movies.Death film reviewer; Jordan Hoffman - The Guardian TV & film critic). so rather than the focus on healthy competition to up each other's standards leading to more impressive films, it becomes a mix of hate and harsh statements detracting from the positive feelings such films should bring in the end. Even the darkest of films meant to deliver a positive experience in the end. So with all that, are we in a better place because of such influences and approaches or just more at odds with one another? Is there a better approach without making it so personal to question someone's mental abilities, intent (love when I am accused of fudging numbers to make DCEU films look better), or even what they appreciate?
