I have spent a great deal of time putting this together. It has been a labor of love, tedious and still not finished. But I do think it is to the point of sharing. Perhaps I can use additional input to continue to update, correct and add to it. I have used many resources in generating this. @mycomicshop Mike's Amazing World of Comics, the CGC Registry (originally generated by @mrlatko and myself) the GCD Index and more. There are multiple tabs within this Excel sheet. They were all used and combined to get to the first tab that has Neal's work listed by Cover, Art and other (writer). I have placed the document on a server so that you can download it and use it. If you have any comments or additions, please feel free to let me know and I will continue the work to update it. the Neal Adams database Enjoy!! XXOO dover

Merry Christmas from Dale Roberts Comics! Welcome to the Comic Inflation Reduction sales thread! My annual Holiday Sales Thread will begin tonight at 8 PM CST. I'll be listing books through December and ending in early January. Invoices will be sent when the thread closes, and no shipping will occur until that time. So even if you don't have enough cash right now, you have about 1 month to save up for your purchases. 2022 has been a great year for selling and also for buying, and besides all of the books I've added to the website, I also have set aside lots of stuff to sell in this thread. There will be Golden Age, pre-code horror, Silver Age, Bronze Age, Magazines, who knows what else. There are keys, semi-keys, high grades, mid grades, and low grades, and almost all of it will be CHEAP, heavily discounted in some cases! There will be beautiful high grade books for the picky collectors and lots of bargains for the more price conscious collector, and plenty of room for dealers to make money. I can't imagine that you won't be able to find something you are looking for at a very good price! Typical board rules apply. Please read. This stuff is important! is king! I welcome reasonable offers by PM, but not 30 seconds after the book has been posted. No editing of I'll Take its. If you click it, its yours. No trading allowed. Payment - Paypal is the preferred method of payment, but I will accept checks or money orders. Invoices will go out in early January, and no payments are due until that time! No shipping will be done until the end of the thread. Time Payments - I also do time payments on purchases (combined or individual) of more than $500.00. I prefer NOT to draw payments out more than a couple of months. And typically speaking, I don't do discounts and time payments together. Please ask on time payments before taking the book. If you request time payments with me, you can't be buying other stuff on the boards, while I am waiting for your payment. That's not cool. Return policy - As always, I offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee, as long as you return the book with 7 days. Shipping - I will ship worldwide. I use Fed Ex on large shipments and orders over $1000, and USPS Priority for everything else. Fedex shipping begins at $18.00 and goes up from there. USA Priority shipping begins at $10.00, and goes up from there. I do not use first class shipping for international. Priority mail is the only option, unless you clear it with me first. Listing schedule - This is a tentative schedule, due to potential family or holiday activities, but I will stick to it as nearly as I can, so mark your calendars. Sunday December 4th - 8 PM CST Sunday December 11th - 7:30 PM CST Monday December 19th - 10:00 AM CST Monday December 26th - 10:00 AM CST Sunday January 1st - 12:00 Noon CST (maybe earlier), Grand Finale If you have questions or requests, please PM them to me. Thanks for looking and get ready to grab some books!

Post examples of artists adding in a 'portrait' of themselves or someone else into a comic as a character. I think Neal Adams based the appearance of a character, Aloysius Calbot, the villain in The Brave & the Bold Vol 1 93, on himself. I actually tried reaching out to Neal to confirm this a few years ago by messaging the Facebook page where he did live art presentations. I think his son is the admin on it. Anyway I didn't get a reply and now I never will. Maybe one of you gurus can confirm it for me. Maybe I'm silly but see the images below and judge for yourself. Post examples of where artists have based characters in comics on themselves or others. See the top right panel below, a drawing of "Aloysius Calbot" the villain of BB93. (I don't want to spoil it for anyone, so let's just say it's his one & only appearance ) In the same issue there is an article about DC artists who have won awards at a convention. Neal Adams won 2 awards and a drawing of him is provided. Unfortunately I couldn't get this website to display this image file the right way up. Anyway see the sketch near the top right. To me the two men drawn are almost identical. Here's the cover of the comic in question. I'm sure there will be people who disagree and say it's just a common look of the times or something

Yeah, I knew Neal; I knew him well. You see he used to draw for me from some never ending well of talent and color; creations built upon a mighty palette. A wheel that circled and changed, brought forth lines and magic for my eager mind to absorb. He would tell me stories of heroes and villains; equal to both so that neither were greater. He put me to bed and then made it fly, shrieks of terror and nowhere to hide. He penciled the man with Super powers and he did this for me so I could understand what is best in us all by some alien. He made a bat fly off the pages and shown a bright light on his many dark secrets and home. He brought me reality of life through the image of racial and drug induced strife. He dusted off western and colored their life with cowboys and Indians captured in fight. He gave a good doctor some of his best lines. He drew a Spectre, a Deadman and Avengers a plenty but gave a boy, a super boy, the angst of my life. And who could forget Jimmy and Lois, the master took time to shine them and show us. His fingers were always the best of his able, reaching out to me in some dynamic fable, touching the paper and touching my mind; I know now he was wanting to touch us all. He expanded the way an artist was held, he expanded the earth a little as well. New kinds of colors not seen much before, DC he demanded to let him explore. I'll say that I'll miss him but really don't know, he's always been with me and will be some more. Perhaps I will hold my fingers out open and reach for the man that showed me once more to jump of the pages and let me explore. Neal? Yeah, I knew him well. P.S. I own a lot of comic books and magazines. While they are not all Neal Adams, I can honestly say I own all of them because of Neal. As an only child, he was often my friend as I was growing up and oh the adventures we had. He is remembered and loved by the boy I was and the man I am. He expanded the known boundaries in his art and I, we, are better for his work and effort.

Free shipping in the US and Canada, something can be worked out for overseas. No PL or HOSers. Returns accepted within 14 days of receipt. PayPal preferred. First on the thread gets the book. Batman 171 The first SA appearance of the Riddler. This was the comic that inspired producer William Dozier to create the Batman TV series, and the pilot episode was based on this story. The book itself has a few problems. The bottom staple is detached, there is a small tear on the right side of the cover, and there is a small corner missing from the bottom left of the back cover. Otherwise solid, with nice colors. VG(4.0) 375.00 SOLD
