Hey all, I'm scanning CGC slabs with my Plustek A320E CCD scanner. I am using default scanner settings. I'm getting quite a few slabs that have a weird green tint in the photo after scanning. I am wondering what settings everyone else is using? Thanks!

Blue Paint Splotches On Page?
Ryan Bates posted a topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
I just received a pristine copy of Green Lantern #49 from a seller on eBay and opened the first page to inspect the book and noticed what looked to be blue splotches of paint on the page. The seller claims the book was always like this but I've never seen something like this from the manufacturer. It's only on the first page and doesn't bleed through to the following pages. Pretty bummed as the book looks to be a 9.8 otherwise. Thoughts? -
Hello, I recently received a few hundred or so old comics from a relative, with the intention of selling them for him, but I'm very much at a loss as to what will sell, and what will not. I think there's a few valuable ones, from looking at ebay sellers, as they are first issues, but I have no idea as to how to identify, grade and sell them? I have a high number of "Fantastic", "The Mighty Thor", "Doctor Strange Master of the Mystic Arts", "Captain America and Falcon", "The Invincible Iron Man", "The Titans", "X-Men", and a number of assorted 1st issue Atlas Comics such as "The Phoenix", "The Cougar" and "Son of Dracula" (and more) if that helps any. I'd really appreciate some help with all this, he's hoping that some of it is at least worth something, considering he's kept them, (and most in pretty good condition) from the 70's. I hope someone can help a newbie out! Thank you!

So I have a couple of questions regarding the new grading scale If I have a card that is 45/55 centering but everything else on the card is perfect, can it still get a pristine 10? Using the old sub grade scale, what “sub grades” would you need to achieve the new “gem mint 10”? What differentiates the new 9.5 from a gem mint 10?

Hi I have been looking around trying to find information on misprints that I have found on 10 of my GPK chrome Topps cards . It seems as if no one has came across these so far and I can’t find anything about any similar errors . On the back of 10 of my GPK TOPPS chrome cards are 10 baseball panini cards . So 2 different types of cards and 2 different companies . Has anyone ever seen any errors like this before ? Or any opinions on what the worth may be of these cards or what you guys think about the find ? The backside of the GPK are the baseball players shown

Hello smart people! Just got back two of my John Wick 1s (A and B variant) as 9.8s. Awesome, I know. BUT... I noticed a lot of white dots on the back black cover. This doesn't seem normal. It's like someone took a sponge with white paint and blotted the cover. Hard to tell, but it looks like whatever compound used with encapsulation is on the book now. (but I could be totally wrong) Is anyone familiar with this defect? Have you seen this before? Would hate for this to get sent back, reopened, and receive a lower grade. Please advise! Thank you

Hey friends!!! I'm brand new to selling comics and cards. I recently decided to dig my old stash out of the attic that I've been sitting on since the late 80's and early 90's. I feel like I've got some real winners in there. I'm just really really confused about how CGC works, and why the prices for some of the stuff I own varies so wildly on e-bay? Can anyone please give me a few pointers??

I am fairly new to collecting so I don’t know much as far as graded cards go and how to determine value but I just bought a charizard graded by CGC, graded a perfect 10 with 4 10 sub grades. I noticed when I received the card in the mail that there is a “dot” on the card. It was graded that way and is on the graded picture on the registry. Now I’m wondering, is this a grading error from CGC? Is it not taken into consideration when grading? Will other companies grade similar? Does this devalue the card? Please help I need advice from people that know what they’re talking about. Thank you!

Originally sent in for Todd got a 9.4 & resubmitted for Starlin and got a 9.6 I would love to send it in for Decarlo but I am unsure if I will get a 9.6 or higher considering the minor flaws. I would be happy with a 3x signed 9.6 but I am extremely hesitant. Should I keep it 2x signed and not send it in?

Venom #2-Exclusive-Varient-Cover artist Marco Turini has a printer defect on everyone of my trade varient. It's at the top left of the spine and has what looks like a spine tear. Also on the trade and virgin books all are rough and rigid like, down the entire spine. I'm there picture added you can see what looks like a spine tear. I hope this is taken into consideration for grading due to the fact they are all like this on the trades but not on all the virgin prints. I'm hoping other people that bought this will reply to confirm this and you (CGC graders) are hopefully already aware of this? Thank you

Hi! second time posting in the CGC forums (first time was just minutes ago in another thread). Been lurking for a while and now I decided to step out of the shadows to ask you guys for help in pricing this slabs. I've had them for some time and just recently decided I want to sell them but I don't know what could be a good price. Besides that, I'd want to know if it's possible to sell here even if I'm not from the USA (I'm from Mexico). If you guys can help me with anything I'll be really grafetul! The comics are: -Age of Ultron foil cover 1# (2013) 9.6 CGC Signature signed by Brian Michael Bendis -Fantastic Four 1# (2018) 9.4 CGC Signature signed by Esad Ribic -Moon Knight 1# (1980) 9.4 CGC Signature signed by Bill Sienkiewicz The slabs are in perfect condition and have been safely handled all this time. Please, if anyone of you could be give me a good advice for their prices I´d be really grateful. If this isn't the place to ask for help or something is wrong with my post please let me know.

I left my Umbreon VMAX Alt Art in a sealable sleeve, and put it in a screw down plastic display case. I guess I was too excited when I cracked it. Looking over other submissions that get 6s or 7s, I haven't seen anything like this, so I can't find a reference point of what I might expect. The centering is already a bit off on the back, probably an 8. This dent is mirrored on the right side of the backing too, and a small mark on the bottom. All of these are hard to see unless there's a bright light on them. Nothing on the front, though. The edges look alright and the corners seem fine, I feel like they could be 8.5-9.5s, but I'm worried these dents will knock the whole thing down to a 7 or 6. This is for collection purposes, so I don't intend to resell this any time soon, and I have already sent it, but how much did I ruin my card? What grade should I expect?

I have a copy of "The Amazing Spider-Man" issue 365. It has now flaws anywhere except for inside the book where it has printing gripping holes on several pages. Does CGC deduct for this, and if so how much? I'm new to all of this and don't want to submit it if they'll only give me an 8 or 8.5. Thanks

Folks who buy collections to break up and resell: What does your process look like? How, and at what point, do you cherry-pick, grade, identify pressing candidates, alphabetize, order by number, create bundles, scan/photograph, generate listings, etc? How do you optimize space utilization, time and cost efficiency, and cash flow/inventory turn? There's an extreme shortage of this type of information online (most of what's published on the topic being extremely general, and not intended for professional resellers), and I think many of us continue to needlessly reinvent the wheel. I'm sure this topic has been touched on here in the past, but I couldn't find anything that was really focused on workflow and efficiency. The more granular you're willing to get, the better. Photos and diagrams appreciated as well. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone I recently bought a copy of fantastic four 52. When it arrived it looked to me like it had been trimmed. I'm really concerned as I was planning to get this graded (I'm very new to grading) it took me so long to save to buy this book and so I would like to reach out to you all and see if anyone can see evidence of trimming. I suspect it has been trimmed down the right side of the cover. I know books are often mis wrapped during this era but I'm not sure if this falls in to that. And expertise anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

First time submission for myself and I'm just making sure I get this correct before going forward in the submission form. In the bulk submission, do all cards need to be a max declared value of $100 or can they vary and the price per card just reflect that max value? I have various values of cards and just want to make sure I can or can't send a max value card of higher than $100 in a bulk submission. Thanks.

According to the site, I can send my comics to be slab CGC in UK, but how can I receive it in Belgium? Is anyone in the same situation? Thank you for your help ! JLD

First time considering Trinity for a very high grade slabbed book which will need to be cracked for signing by Adam Hughes. Anyone had experience with these guys opening a book before? It’s a legit 9.8, no missed flaws by CGC. highest on census and one of 2. Should I even bother?

Still extremely new to the world of collecting but I was thinking of purchasing this book and having the restoration removed. My question is can you even remove C-1 cover reinforce and color touch up ? My purpose would be to add to my collection and sell maybe one day for profit and I know restored books are frowned on. Thanks in advance to all answers.

So I recently received a Marvel Special Edition Star Wars #1 and I am wondering if I can get it graded. It is fairly large measuring at about 10 inches wide by 13 inches tall is this a grade able size.
