About Me

  1. Hi, all: I've consigned a large stash of OA to Heritage this week, with art from DC, Eclipse, Image and Marvel (and a sketch or two). With so many listings, I've decided to split my posts in two, this being part 2. All auctions end Wednesday, Mar 13th. Here's a brief description of the artwork, along with a direct link to the page at auction: Gary Kwapisz and Ricardo Villagran Airboy #44 Story Page 6 Original Art (Eclipse, 1988). This page from the story "Like Fathers and Sons". Link to page at auction: Gary Kwapisz and Ricardo Villagran Airboy #44 Story Page 6 Original | Lot #47125 | Heritage Auctions (ha.com) Dan Lawlis and Ricardo Villagran Clive Barker's Night Breed #16 Story Page 20 Original Art (Marvel, 1992). Creatures and monsters real and fantastic devour victims left and right, in this page from a story co-written by Clive Barker himself. Link: Dan Lawlis and Ricardo Villagran Clive Barker's Night Breed #16 | Lot #47129 | Heritage Auctions (ha.com) Tom Lyle and Ricardo Villagrán Skywolf #2 Story Page 6 Original Art (Eclipse, 1988). Horrific jungle-war action distinguishes this sequence from Eclipse's ambitious revival of Golden Age characters from the historic Hillman Comics line. The setting is the Indochina War of the 1950s. Heroic aviator Skywolf and metal-headed Baron Von Tundra (a purportedly rehabilitated Nazi) follow a treacherous jungle path while attempting an unsteady truce. Link: Tom Lyle and Ricardo Villagrán Skywolf #2 Story Page 6 Original Art | Lot #47136 | Heritage Auctions (ha.com) Mike McKone and Andy Lanning Fantastic Four #532 Story Page 14 Original Art (Marvel, 2005). Mr. Fantastic just wants to go home after the operation to replicate the accident that created the FF is scrubbed. Link: Mike McKone and Andy Lanning Fantastic Four #532 Story Page 14 | Lot #47145 | Heritage Auctions (ha.com) Yanick Paquette and Serge LaPointe Civil War: X-Men #3 Double Page Spread 16-17 Original Art (Marvel, 2006). Members of the 198 (the 1% of mutants who retained their powers post-M-Day) battle with Sentinel Squad O*N*E on the lawn of the Xavier Institute in protest of the Superhuman Registration Act that sparked the superhero Civil War. Add $12 for every book on top for max of 5. Anything above and beyond please let me figure shipping out. But as always, I will work with you on and if anything troubling comes up as I look to keep relationships healthy and happy.
  3. Hi Everyone, I've been extremely lucky enough to get my hands on one of the most desired grails in comic history. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on storing this book as it is the most expensive item I've had and probably will ever have. It's already Graded at 1.8 but I'd like to have that extra protection/security. I've had a look to see if I can find a case similar to the ones on Case Club but I won't be moving it that often so carrying it around isn't necessary. I was thinking about maybe a little lockbox or something that I can keep somewhere safe without it taking up to much room. Thank you for reading and I'll keep this post updated and upload images when I can. UPDATE: I'm still on the look out for a more secure and protected case but for now, I thought I'd give an update on the comic. I decided to go for a display cabinet to show off the one and only with a few other comics In my collection. (A Spidey Shrine you could call it) If anyone has any suggestions for lighting (Wireless) so I can show these off at night, I would really appreciate it. I only need one light but from what i've seen on Amazon and other sites you get 3 minimum which I don't really need.
  4. I'm relatively new to collecting (5 years) with about 3 years of collecting graded books and I've mostly been collecting modern and late bronze but want to go for some silver age books (maybe even gold). I mostly collect 1st appearances and covers I really like, I know with more recent books its "easier" and more common to get 9.8's and 9.6's but I always go for the 9.8's because why not get the best grade possible? I know with silver age books, the cost and availability of the higher grades can get into the thousands and hard to come by, especially when it comes to key issues and iconic covers. So I wanted to ask the community how did you come up with the grade you were happy with? I know there's a lot of factors like price, rarity, importance/significance to you etc. And of course everyone wants the highest grades possible but cant always get the highest so I was wondering what grade did you decide you were happy with and how did you get that conclusion? Some factors I've thought of are the obvious ones, price, rarity/availability etc but also the re-saleability to fund other books or upgrade to a higher grade and visually how the books look, I've heard cases of a 4.5 can sometimes look better than a 5 or even 5.5 on rare occasions. I really want to get the 1st appearances of Spiderman and batman villains, few iconic covers and a few other 1st appearances which I've noticed have a large range of price to grade scale. Thank you for reading, any advice is really appreciated. Happy collecting.

  8. I put together a custom set in the custom set registry titled the Universal Comic Collection. I spent a bit of time to do some graphic design on it, uploaded photos of all the comics and even did a short write up on each. It’s simply my favorite comics from across all the comic universes. Hope some of you will give it a look and send a bit of feedback if you have time. https://comics.www.collectors-society.com/WCM/ComicCustomSetView.aspx?s=31723
  9. Hello everyone! I am going to send some comics to get signed and graded for Todd McFarland. I am wanting to send in my ASM 316. But i would like your help to determine a grade. Please and thank you!!
  10. I thought thses comic books were lost and gone, but then I found that they were being auctioned off I’ve already reported to the police and have had them flagged as stolen, If you happen to own these comic books please return them back to the original auction company you purchased them from, do not buy if you see them online being sold, there is a police report on this item, I have not told the auction house the correct information as I am letting this be handled by the police, These comics will be red flagged a stolen, I have talk to a police officer if anybody would like the number of the police officer I will not be providing the information on here as like I said I am only allowing this to be handled by the police, I noticed that this webpage changed when I posted this as I think that the auction house is deceiving people and I believe they know that this items were stolen as I can prove receipts and I can also prove that these comics were in my position in New Jersey which is where the items were stolenhttps://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/126921893_spider-geddon-0-cgc-graded-98-signed
  11. Any Spider-fans looking for some great looking actual production pages of a Spider-Man comic? For Sale: The original color guides for John Byrne Spider-Man: Chapter One #0 Complete 8-page Story "I am the Living Sandman" Original Art (Marvel, 1999). Writer, penciler, inker, and letterer, John Byrne, tells the origin of Flint Marko, a.k.a. Sandman, in this complete eight-page story. Guides are copies of the original inked/lettered art which have been painted on by the books colorist Christie Scheele. Each page is 8.5x11 inches in size total. Features some great panels, including a perfect first page splash as well as the quintessential nuclear test explosion that gave him his powers. Fun trivia, but the art in this origin references another old Marvel book, Journey into Mystery #70, which is regarded as the original 'Sandman Prototype' that predates this character - they used the design of that original prototype here as Flint Marko's very first form he takes to fight off some scientists. You rarely see full story sets of such production art come up for sale, as most are split up into separate sales - making this set excellent for display. The original line art for this story sold way back in 2011 for $1,920usd, so this is the next best thing for a fraction of the cost. OFF TO EBAY LATER
  12. Hi there, I was just wondering what someone would sell this item at. It was purchased for $3000.00 CAD (price tag sticker still on frame). I called the shop at AJW Sportscards where it was bought and they said they haven't had stock of anything signed by Stan Lee in a while. Thanks, Ali
  13. Credit: daaap This concept was inspired by DC "Batman and Son" and Huntress Vol 3 (Earth 2). What if spiderman in this alternative universe story where Peter hook up with Silver Sable. Spiderman wanted to stay with Silver after but spiderman decided his have responsibility back in New York and so he left symkaria and Silver Sable became pregnant with spidey child. And train their child to become a mercenary like her and with help of Wild Pack. Years later that SpiderMan and Silver Sable child taking up the name “Silver Spider” as alias. We seem many Spiderman children’s from different universe before like Annie Parker and Richie Parker (House Of M). What if Silver Spider act as little bit like her mother as anti hero you’re will. Later Silver Sable send Silver Spider to New York to stay with SpiderMan (biological father) and Join Web-Warriors with along with Miles, Gwen, Anya, Cindy, Kaine, MJ and Jessica Drew. Web-Warriors are Marvel version of the Bat Family. This series taking places in alternate world as being similar to the one from the earth 616 With elements from earth Earth-1610 (Ultimate Marvel) and Earth-65. Also Believe later on that Silver Spider join alternate earth version of the Champions with Kamala Khan all grow-up trained next generation of heroes. Silver Spider have same powers have his or she father SpiderMan (Peter Parker) and have probably some genetic appearances like having grayish white hair like her or his mother Silver Sable. Unlike rest of Web-Warriors members Silver Spider use more lethal tactics like using guns and sword. Undecided what gender Silver Spider should? Anyway what you’re general thoughts like in alternate earth SpiderMan and Silver Sable have a child together, one of them unaware about it.

  16. Hi all, brand new here so hope to get your help. I just purchased what I believe to be a marvel Collectable classic signed edition of a chromium reprint of the 1990 Spider-Man “torment” #1 issue. However the actual rating of 9.8 by CGC says it’s a reprint of Amazing Spiderman 300. A.) Is this a mistake by CGC? B.) This really is a reprint of Spider-Man 300 but with the cover art of Spider-Man #1 1990 edition ? c.) this is a fraud, someone put the book in a case belonging to a spiderman-300 reprint?
  17. Hi, thanks for checking out my thread! I have some older books available here if you're interested: Rules No HOS / probation. All slabbed book sales are final. I won't sell via proxy - if you claim in thread, then yours is the only name and address that I will ship to or accept payment from. Payment must be received within 5 business days of your claim being acknowledged or I reserve the right to make the book available for sale once more. Shipping is via USPS to the CONUS. Books will ship once payment clears. Slabs will be insured for their purchase price, the cost of which will be split between the seller and buyer. The base shipping cost for a package (via USPS flat rate box) will be paid in full by the buyer. All of the above holds true unless some prior arrangement is reached via direct message prior to your claim in thread. Finally... more images are available upon request - my apologies for the lack of scans and the glare evident in these images.
