I'm planning some home renovations this Winter/Spring, so I'm going to hopefully have a series of sales. This is the first. All the books in this lot are CGC'd. I'm sorry that I only have pictures and no scans for most, but my slab scanner doesn't seem to like the latest version of Windows 10;) I might be able to add some scans later on. This time shipping is not included, but I charge exact shipping and no “handling” fees. With slabs I find that there is too much of a difference between the East and West Coast to charge everyone the same thing. I do use Regional b

Hi all, For the last few weeks I have had a thread up offering mostly Classics and related material, from a 16-box estate collection that was maybe 85% Classic Comics/Classics Illustrated. Rather than run one long, confusing (to me!) thread for everything. I am willing to share from that collection, I am trying to share in focused threads, for those who might not be interested in everything coming to the board from this sizable collection. So here is round two, about half a short box of various Silver age Superman titles. But first, First in thread wins Payment: Checks or

I just listed 22 auctions all starting at 99 cents with no reserve. I did put up bins in case anyone wanted to get rid of their eBay bucks quickly, but of course those work with auctions, too:) Have fun and if you are a boarder and you win, let me know, so I make sure to include something extra:) https://www.ebay.com/sch/skypinkblu/m.html?item=263581712590&hash=item3d5eb1c0ce%3Ag%3AXTIAAOSwdxJawU3E&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

I've been collecting Superman and Batman for quite a while, but I've been getting away from SA and BA books, so I'm going to be listing that part of my collection during the next few weeks. I started with the BA books, then the SA books, then add quite a few 10 cent books, early SA/ Atom Age/GA...whatever you want to call them;) I've had a few threads, this will be the last one until at least March, I have a lot to pack and ship. There will be 41 10 cent DC's, Superman, Batman, Superboy, Action, Adventure and Detective Comics. Since these are all raw

Hi all, Ok, it's time....I will post one book tonight to get this thread rolling, but I plan a thread of Gold and early Silver, between 60-70 books, over the next few nights. I will group them by genre, with round 1 being pre-code romance/GGA. (This will be about 1/3 of the thread). The romance books are mostly pretty sharp and fairly esoteric; it's hard to find many comps so I'm using multiple sources and taking the OSPG with a grain of salt. One book tonight, more beginning around 10 pm EST tomorrow. I will try to do a heads-up post shortly before beginning each round, and I will edit t

Hi gang, Here's an unusual but kinda cool offering: a lot of 31 Coverless readers from the Golden, Silver and Bronze ages, including a truly rare book and a few keys. First, the rules (this post). Then, the descriptor. Post #3 will be the pix, completing the offering. Price will be for the entire lot shipped within U.S. (Medium Priority Flat Rate box). Yesterday we took a look at the dawn of the Bronze Age with the Superbooks. It would be about another year, however, for the Superbooks to start hitting their stride with some classic Bronze Age goodness. For me, the quintessential Superman Bronze Age book is Superman #233, so let's see what else was on the newsstands that month as well. Aside from having the most iconic of Neal Adams' Superman covers, this issue starts a year-long story of a de-powered Superman by Denny O'Neil. While this was supposed to reset the status quo, it was largely contained within the pages of Superman

Continuing on for the theme of the week, let's set the time machine forward a few years to April of 1969 to see both the end of one era, and the dawn of another. The end of the Silver Age is a hard one to pin down, and there's a ton of debate to be had. I, myself, like to keep things simple and generally assume that the end of the 12¢ books also ends the Silver Age, and this is the month that it happened. I sorted the books by release date, so you'll see that it starts with 10¢ books and ends with the 12¢ books. Aside from Adventure Comics #381, which features the debut issue

So I was ruminating on the state of my Superman collection the other day, as I am getting close to checking off all of the 12¢ books from Superman and Action Comics. That made me curious as to how far back I could get in my collection, and have the entire month of Superman books represented. I figured it would be early in the 12¢ run somewhere, but to my surprise it was late in the 10¢ era instead. Step out of the time machine, and welcome to the world of November 1959! No key issues for this month, but the Superbabies are quite popular as we get both a Superboy and a Supergir

Yesterday I was a little surprised that I was able to go all the way back to November of 1959, with having a complete set of all the Superbooks on sale for a particular month. I thought for sure that my oldest set would've been in the early 12¢ era. I ended up being wrong twice, as not only could I go farther back than I thought, but the next instance of this happening is way into the second half of the Silver Age. It takes another 7 ½ years for my collection to once again have all of the Superbooks for any particular month. I give to you, the Superman newsstand of June 1967...

Low Content Mode Week, Anagram Style with Superman and Superboy!
tomo posted a journal entry in Turning Bronze and Copper into Steel
Yesterday I mentioned that I'll pick up lower grade 12¢ books to help fill out the run if the price is right, well on these the price was right! The focus of my collection is completing Action Comics and Superman, but I've slowly been filling out the secondary and tertiary titles as the opportunities present themselves. After enjoying the heck out of @Silver's Superboy Complete thread over in the Silver Age Forum, I decided to bump the Superboy collecting up a notch as there are some great books in there. Thanks to @SOLAR BOY for another killer sales thread that had some o -

My Superboy Collection, 1-204, in reverse order, because;) Most of these books are raw, there are just a few that are slabbed and I'll post those tomorrow. I used to have the full run, but I've sold a few and sent a few to CGC, there are still a lot of books and I put the ones I was thinking of keeping in with the rest, so it's not exactly picked over;) Shipping is exact. In the US, I can put about 12 books into a Regional A flat rate box, it's about $7 on the East cost, $8 in the middle and $10 on the West. If you buy so many that I can't fit them in a regional box A, I'll subsidiz
