Hello friends, For the first time, I've uploaded all 45 pages of Bernie Wrightson's pencil art for "Swamp Thing: Deja Vu" for your enjoyment and purchase consideration: http://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=16017 Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson reunited in the mid-1980s for a return engagement on Swamp Thing. "Deja Vu" was to be a three issue, fully painted prestige format comic. Combining elements of their original conception and Alan Moore's revamp, Len Wein said that Deja Vu was one of the best things he'd ever written. Bernie completed the initial pencils, and was working on refining some tight pencil pages (see page five here) in advance of the painting process, when he had an existential crisis and decided that you can never go home again... shelving the project. Deja Vu is an amazing story, and it's all here, readable in Bernie's art and margin notes. The first half of the story has fun, even joyous adventure elements. The second half revisits Swamp Thing's origin from 1972 from a new perspective, and the plot takes a poignant and emotional turn, as horror and violence elements follow the pathos arising in the middle of the book. Truly great stuff, and worth reading in its entirety, even if you're not interested in following my twenty year caretaker position by adding the story to your collection, and being its caretaker for the next twenty years. As this story has been kept together for thirty years, my goal is to keep Deja Vu intact and sell it together as one book. I paid $250 per page for this art in the 1990s. I'm taking offers starting at $555 a page in 2018 (IE $25K for the whole book). That's pretty good for Wrightson Swampy art, and an opportunity to add a piece of history to your collection! Hi everyone, Due to crazy happening I've finally decided that I shall have to liquidate my complete original owner (90% bought off the newstand) collection and I am debating what books are worth sending to CGC, please let me know your thoughts guys, Ive been out of the game for a decade or so, so all feedback is greatly appreciated. I'll be putting up a selection of books that I feel may justify being sent, if I've got it wrong please let me know, I can't afford to mess this decision up!!! House of Secrets #92 CGC 9.0 White Pages $2850. 1st appearance of the Swamp Thing. Bernie Wrightson cover and art. Now’s your chance to own this high-grade key issue at a great price. This book is on fire! Prices have been going thru the roof. According to GPA a CGC 9.6 w/off-white pages sold in August for over $13,000. A CGC 9.4 w/white pages sold in July for $4500. Notes indicate a crease on the right bottom of front cover breaks color, spine stress lines (I just don’t see much here), and a small light stain on left top of back cover (I think someone is seeing things). Anyway, that’s what CGC says makes this a 9.0. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to PM. -

This panel will kick off the premiere (at Comic-Con) of Hermes Press' new book, Bernie Wrightson: Art and Designs for Gang Of Seven Animation Studio. The panel will begin with a video presentation about the late Bernie Wrightson's career and will include examples of his animation drawings and concepts together with never-before-seen animation using Wrightson's work for feature animated horror film promotionals. Tom Tataranowicz (Producer/Director of Tom T. Animation/Gang of Seven Animation, Biker Mice from Mars) will lead the discussion of Wrightson's career and enduring legacy with Marv Wolfman (The Tomb of Dracula, Blade), Daniel Herman (publisher of Hermes Press, Silver Age: The Second Generation of Comic Artists), and Mitch Itkowitz (owner of Graphic Collectibles, Jack Kirby Masterworks).
