I bought this quite a few years ago on eBay. Mark Wilson had restored it and had put the pages back in inverse order (the centerfold was the first wrap ) duh;)

I gave it to another restorer, so that the pages could be in the right order and he and his partner talked me into pressing it. They said it had a sub crease. Anyway, when I bought the book, with the pages wrong, it had been graded a (CGC) 5.5) when I got it back after having it pressed, it was a CGC 4.5. The back was very crinkled, it was a mess. I can't seem to find a picture, but it definitely looked worse than when I gave it to the person (and I'm not naming him here) . He did offer to repress it, but it involved his fees, shipping and of course new cgc fees, so I passed.

At the time I told Joeypost about it and he said he'd try and fix it. He's the only person I have used since and I've never been sorry.  I waited about 10 years to send it to him, because I was so annoyed, I didn't like looking at the book...but I should not have waited, he's a miracle worker.

I was never a fan of pressing, but Joey changed my view. I've had books with horrendous spine rolls he's fixed, books that looked like someone slept with them fixed and now this...(worship)

Thanks @joeypost

I’m not a big restoration fan but for a book like this and for removing the damage done I’d have to say it was the right move. What a great looking copy of a great book. I bet you love looking at it now Sharon! Congratulations on righting the wrongs of the past and ending up with a stunner!

Just got this copy, 2nd highest graded behind one in 8.5 .  Always a thrill to find a book like this.

Wow, that is a tough, tough book to begin with, it's gorgeous. If you decide you don't need it anymore I want to be on the list:)

I was bidding on Clink, but this just went too high for me. I have 2 lower grade copies, I guess I'll just be happy I have a copy.

Yeah I was watching that one, blew away my expectations. I did win this one, an upgrade:

The last book I needed to complete my "All-American Publication Cover Logo" collection. I was determined to bring that to an end, here and now. :insane:

Yeah, I wasn't crazy about those two additional bids in the closing 5 seconds.  :D

Well, congrats then, a nicer person could not have won. :foryou:Had I only known, I would have sold you my lower grade copy, lol. I'm waiting for the hopefully higher grade one to come back. Last minute bids were not mine, I think I quit  at $1600+

I don't know if anyone else has been watching the Sensations on eBay this week. I hope someone here got what they wanted.

This one didn't surprise me much, I know it's scarce. I was lucky to find a 6.0 a few months  ago.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sensation-Comics-21-Nice-Original-Owner-Early-Wonder-Woman-DC-1943-VG-/143010092675?hash=item214c10d683%3Ag%3AD30AAOSwM8Rb6Meu&nma=true&si=lGw3GZcvi2yfvzYDKaIuiREFU54%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

I thought I was bidding fairly high on this copy, I had a snipe bid in that I thought would do it, but it was not even high enough to register. I think I'll just hug my 2.0.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sensation-Comics-12-Nice-Original-Owner-Early-Wonder-Woman-DC-1942-VG-/143010092404?epid=85450271&hash=item214c10d574%3Ag%3ALUQAAOSwkHFb6MeG&nma=true&si=lGw3GZcvi2yfvzYDKaIuiREFU54%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

But this one (unless the accepted offer was way lower), shocked me. It's a nice looking copy, but it's raw from a fairly new person.

I saw some of these Sensations go for high dollar, but blissard is a well known solid seller.  Sells on here sometimes too I forgot his user name though.

I'm betting that last link was a cut-and-paste error by Sha. Here's the one I think she meant for that last one:

@EC ed is right, that was a cut and paste error, @Knightsofold and I believe blissard is Action25kid here, very reputable seller on eBay with tons of followers, but those were really high prices.

@EC ed, Ed, you might have gotten a huge bargain with the clink one:)

I don't know, Sha...I think the real bargain was the 9.4 copy that sold back in May for just under $3,600. I remember actively deciding NOT to bid on that one...I was thinking 'I don't need to spend thousands for this issue...I'll just wait until a nice mid-grade copy comes along that I can get for a lot less.'  lol

Spoiler

Not sure how I double posted, but I did bid on the 9.4 Sensation, it just went too high. My aim is always 4.0 or better, I'm not looking at 9's. I have 2 copies of the 38, one has white out on it, I'm waiting for the 2nd one to come back from CGC.
