Another example of why I buy CGC books.

Check out this auction:

The seller with better than 1000 feedbacks says "In my opinion looks around a Very Fine, except for some minor scuffing on spine, which is not even noticable in the CGC case". Based on the look in the scan he appears to be correct.

I checked with Heritage to see a larger picture of wahet appears to be the same book.

I asked the seller if the book has a crease on the top right and he said it does but the crease does not break color. What price do you bid, based on the scan and the description, without an independent grade? I guess somewhat of a discount to VF? Thanks CGC.

Once again proves why Heritage is the best place to "BUY THE BOOK, NOT THE LABEL" (other than seeing the book in person).

While the seller gives a nice big picture, the resolution is not great. That tends to diminish very light (and non-color) breaking creases. It is also possible that they do a little bit of digital manipulation to the scans. Not saying they did, but I'm pretty sure a few well known dealers do this.

All that said, if the back cover is nice, I would much rather own this VG/FN, than one with a lot of small color breaking creases and lots of wear on the spine. Plus, the book has a "fresh" look to it unlike many VG to FN books.
