Miss Liberty #1 (1945, Green Publishing), which appears to be a traced swipe of Irv Novick’s original art from page 10 of the Steel Sterling story from Zip Comics #46 (May 1944, Archie Comics).

The original art:

It's such a blatant swipe, even down to the rivets on Steel's shorts.  I can't believe MLJ didn't take legal action.

Both are cool!

They sure are. Wondering what the general reaction to the two Archie 1’s that just sold in the Heritage auction?  A nice 4.0 went for about $30k with juice and a not so nice 3.5 for $16k. Need one but the caped crusader kept me from bidding on either. Both seemed like good buys.

I agree. Both really good buys, and the 4.0 was a really nice presenting copy

Blue Ribbon 13 is one of my Top 3 covers in my collection. Imagine my surprise after diving into Pulps this year to find out it was a swipe of The Spider Dec, 1939 issue!

Both are cool as Mr. Cooper took it to another level literally!  Robots vs Demons! Both are cool!

This is cool. I've been looking for a Blue Ribbon #13 too. Never knew this!  :applause:
