super rough personal copy I've had forever. Beats not having one I suppose.

probably got it the same time as this one back in the mid 1970s. They were both in this shape when I originally got them - which is solid for readers.

There's a certain charm in seeing well loved books like that. I'm so jaded from certified copies it makes these more interesting in a way. If they looked like that in the mid 70's they had some rough going in just a handful of years lol!

It was a time when finding any comic books was a bonus-- especially ones so old. There was no comic I would pass on other than maybe DCs (though I took those too - impressionable kid I suppose that Marvel had that zombie control of). I took anything that looked like a comic book period. These were among some of my most liked books and by the time I got them-- I was well aware how important taking care of them was in the long run. But yeah-- they are pretty ragged out as they were even back then.

Not really. It was just a promotional giveaway from Aim toothpaste. A laundry detergent did this as well. 

Buy Aim toothpaste, get a free comic. 40 years later you have a cool little collectors item unless you beat it to death.

Yeah I believe the one without the wording is from 1980. I've been trying to find it on GPA but I don't think there's a census for it. I think it was only available in Toys r us? I don't know. Got any more information on it?

Also in other news was at my LCS to show off my Hanna sketch that finally arrived. And the owner had some nice silver/bronze age ASM. In from his presser. And I decided to go for a #115. As it one of now 281 issues I needed and liked the cover with may and ock.

Nice copy there. Ya I am a sicker for ock myself. My first silver age asm I got in 2013 was issue 55. And ock, goblin are some of my favorite classic foes of spidey.
