Got this weird Punisher War Journal 30 in a random lot but it’s inside out. It was a lot buy with just pics of the books from a seller that just lumped a bunch of randoms together; I assumed it was just bagged incorrectly in the pic. Crazy thing is it’s a newsstand. I can imagine it not getting noticed at the printer and even the distributor, but how did it make it past the newsstand and not get sent back to be destroyed? Guess someone else found it and thought it was cool...

Apparently this error is more common than I thought for this issue:

Too bad the label doesn't mention the number of error copies. 200 is the number I always see- I wonder if it's in question.

Since I bought my first one, the range has always been from 200 to 220. I'd say it's safe to say these are extremely rare, and most likely there would be no more than 250. I was lucky to get three when I did. Most people feel they are worth about 350, someone had the audacity to complain to me recently asking 1k for the 9.0 I posted. Thing is, they ever make a cartoon like the one in the 90s again, it will take off. The live action shows just aren't able to convey just how off beat and wacky the characters were designed to be.

Best collaboration Edlund managed for Tick was with Fox. Tick was just never appealing to adults unfortunately

Nice copy you have there ;)

I don't really know that cgc's label ever mention's distribution other than if it was a signed numbered edition as part of the signature? right? I think that's the only time they put those kinds of specifics..... idk though

I don't really know if this is an error- Maybe it's just my eyes, but the MCG bar at the top look gray rather than light blue. I only have one copy of #184, but my 'return' copy of #143 shows a clear difference.

Red tends to fade before blue so I don't thinks it's that.

That happens quite a lot MR SigS - it stands to reason that the colours will change subtly throughout a print run as one of more starts to run out - here's a good example of two ASM #121's I used to own:

121pe.thumb.jpg.b349e5564125c2878b10d4d96a6f4b7d.jpg

I wouldn't call them printing errors myself - just the natural change you would expect, which can make a blue seem more purple and a grey more blue.

proof copy

Definitely a proof copy and a cool one. I have a few proofs and this error

Interesting note I was messaging with another board member and they pointed out the note at the bottom.  "SANS UPC" for direct print copy.

Would a proof copy be printed on comic book paper?   @Kevin76

Depends,   there are 2 proofs,  There is what's called  "Color Keys" or "Go Bys"  each shop may have a different terminology but result is the same.  The color keys are what the press operator uses and looks at to try and match the color to, ya know, what shade of blue does Marvel want, what shade of red ect...  But sometimes they have a sample copy, basically a finished copy that another print shop may have printed that they'll use as the "color key"  it also shows the press operator what the customer (Marvel)  wants the book to look like in terms of color, register, trim size, ect...basically "Make every book like like this one"
