I generally prefer amateur snapshots to studio shots. But here’s a fun pic of Fred Astaire in an uncanny Alfred E. Neuman mask, from a 1959 TV special. Signed by Fred’s dance partner, Barrie Chase. The mask was made by John Chambers, who made the masks for the original Planet of the Apes films.

Had this one printed from the original negative, which I own. This is the Frazetta work that first attracted Hollywood attention and led to Frank’s lucrative deal to paint movie posters.

I wish I owned this one! Some guy on Facebook shared this, but he says he found the image online and doesn’t own the original photo. I did a Google reverse image search, no luck. I’d pay good dough to own the original - I’m crazy for this photo!

It's pretty well done. A bit like some of the Marvel covers that blended a drawn character with a photo background.

I’m sure you would. Stand in line. It is a photo discovered many years ago by a well known comic dealer. He made a bunch of copies of it that have been floating around for years.

Sure, I’ve seen the copies, including colorized versions. Sooner or later I’ll bag an original.

Here’s a bit of fun. I’m not an original art guy - I’d rather have  first-rate photo collection than a half-arsed art collection. But I do have one special piece Dan Clowes drew for me. It’s a drawing of a photo of the Ghost World gals, Enid and Rebecca.
