Chuck R is coming back to Charlotte

Thank you Chuck for the kind words and great write up in your email

ie.

65%-75% Off Comics Sale Sets Record for Orders!

Howdy!

Chuck and gourds

I can hardly contain my enthusiasm this morning! The "Big Red" sale that I put into effect on Wednesday has created a response so far beyond my expectations that I am just walking on air! Our online sales quadrupled (!) in the 48 hours after my Wednesday newsletter was sent, which is the largest and fastest response that we have had for a new sale announcement in over 5 years! That having been said, I strongly suspected that the amazingly steep discounting that I was putting into effect that day, of 65%-75% off on a huge number (100,000+) of our back issue comics, had a high probability of success. In all honesty, however, the powerful and enthusiastic response to this sale exceeded even my most optimistic projections!

In the end analysis, having all of our steeply discounted back issue comics and magazines appear on our website in bright red seems to have really helped. As much as our codeword sales have been popular with many of you, it now appears that nothing is better for illustrating all of the great bargains that we have to offer on our website than just flat-out dropping all of our prices to rock bottom. That's just fine with me, as I am currently able to buy restock at conventions for most of the issues that we are presently selling at steep discount, so our offering you such great bargains is not causing any long term harm to our overall selection. I will caution you, however, that the discounts on our website will ratchet up and down automatically each day based on the number of copies of each issue that we currently have in stock. That being the case, if you see an issue listed on our website at a particularly advantageous price, you should probably order it right away. Otherwise, the price might go up with our next day's inventory upload...

While I am certainly elated over the success of the "Big Red" sale, my good feelings are tempered by the fact that I picked up a nasty cold at last weekend's Pittsburgh convention. That ended up being the explanation for my being so tired on Wednesday morning, as the actual cold symptoms then hit me on Wednesday afternoon. I've since been battling back with lots of rest, fluids, and zinc, however, so I'm feeling well enough this morning to make the decision to fly out on Saturday afternoon to North Carolina. There's a one-day comics convention in Raleigh coming up on this Sunday that I've heard some very good things about, so I really do want to go there. I also have several dealers in the mid-South who have been asking me to visit their shops, so this seems like auspicious timing. Especially considering that there is also a one-day show in Charlotte on Saturday, May 10th. Just to be clear, the one-day Charlotte convention is the Charlotte Comicon, which is not run by Shelton Drum, the owner of the fantastic Charlotte Heroes Convention. The three-day Heroes show (which is one of my three favorite conventions of the entire year) will be June 20th-22nd. In the meantime, however, I can guarantee you that the one-day Charlotte convention on the 10th will be loads of fun, with just about as nice and friendly a group of dealers as you can find anywhere. Come visit with me there!

Well, I really don't have too much more news for you today. All I can advise is that if you have yet to check out how many prices on our website have turned to red (65%-75% off), you really should. Thousands of other comics fans have already done so, and it is clear from all the orders that we are receiving that the deals that we are offering on our website right now are extremely advantageous for almost everyone.
