And now it goes in the vault never to be seen nor enjoyed until I own a castle... in Scotland... with people that play bagpipes to warn me if anyone tries touching my "stuff"

And group shot...

I wonder if I could build a stash of AF15's in the way that the boardie CalAmerica has Iron Man Sub Mariner #1s.

Did someone say they needed a piper?

The copy had a fair amount of chipping so a press candidate seems unlikely.

I'm looking into selling my 7.0 now, price like that is hard to pass up.

Don't do it. You'll regret it.

Congrats, that is beautiful. :golfclap:

Thanks... I thought a lot about what you had said. I saw the prices... and I noticed one thing. Month after month I am continuously outbid when gauge my bids on previous sales and by what it is supposedly "worth." As far as condition, the only thing that killed me is the white pin dot on the arm. However, I really did not want any Marvel chipping or anything less than OW-W pages and the book had to have a vibrant cover along with no writing, stamps or major creases. So I figured with everything else that if the only thing was the white dot, I could live with that. As it is, I bit the bullet and know I overpaid due to being charged the NYS Tax.

However I was an underbidder on the Sparklecity copies that kept coming up these last few months. as well as the Comiclink copies as the price continually rises. So... I said just go for it before I am completely shut out of 5.5-6.0 range. It was a bit uncomfortable spending the money as it was the most expensive collectible I have purchased but I already offset the cost by clearing out a lot of cheaper nonsense I picked up over the years. Less is more I guess.

As I said to one person here in a PM... it means that Yankee attendance will regularly be down by one for a year and a self moratorium on any major purchases for a few months.

(Except Opening Day and the Post Season - yeah, I will turn into one of 'those' fans for a year.)

Well done and thanks.

It's like trying to get into the market before it gets out of hand, except that these comics generally don't drop so much. They fluctuate but it's a slow upward trend.

You did great, that's a keeper. (thumbs u

That's a great looking 6.0 and with that 7.0 breaking 53000. I think you made the right move.

Thank you - heh - tell that to the people in the investment thread over in comics general. Even so, it is not a book I would ever mind being "stuck" with.

I regret lots of things......but $50K in my pocket right now would help keep the lights on and the airconditioning blowin' cold.

Sell the 7.0 for $50k, pick up a 5.5 for $15k and pocket the other $35k.
